S4 E3 “Being Seen”

S4 E3 Audrey visits the other Audrey (RO) in hopes that she’ll help figure out what made Nathan forget who he is. Meanwhile Nathan helps Dwight, with the mystery of a missing woman.

Previously on Haven: When Nathan went back to 1955 he met Sarah, one of Audrey’s previous personalities. Nathan’s interactions with her produced a son, James. Audrey and Nathan left James in the barn in 2012. Audrey shot Nathan, the man she loves, in the head yet he healed and now he’s able to heal the troubles but he doesn’t remember who he is. Nathan is not always able to heal people. He was unable to cure a man who turned into a mountain lion. Audrey just knows something bad is coming. A woman has been killed with a mysterious mark on her body (a fan symbol), something Audrey has seen before but she can't place where as if it's from a memory she can't access. Teaser
A mom, with a baby in the cart, and a three year old child by her side checks out at a grocery store. She takes her cart to the car and loads the car. As she takes the baby out of the cart a woman looks at her only to the baby and she’s annoyed. She places the cart in the cart drop off, running into another women’s cart. The woman jumps. The mom says sorry, quietly and leaves. The woman looks back and sees no one.

At Nathan's place Nathan and Audrey argue. It’s been awhile and Nathan still doesn’t remember who he is. Audrey wants him to try. He’s frustrated wants answers about what happened to him, she simply tells him he was shot. He tells her to leave him alone, he can’t remember and he can’t help. He’s given up. Audrey leaves.
Audrey goes to the police station there she runs into Willow who is creating a database for all the troubled people. She thanks her again. She tells Dwight Nathan’s status. He’s there in the chief's office helping out she thanks him for lending a hand and asks him to be chief, since Nathan is supposed to be chief and Dwight has a relationship with the guard. He reminds her about how he’s a bullet magnet. She hands him a Taser. When she leaves he asks her where she’s going. She says “to see the other Audrey Parker. She must have found the barn, maybe she’s remembered something about it or knows something about the mark.” Dwight agrees, tells her to take Stan. She tells him she’s already asked Duke, since he found her. Dwight nods in approval.

Act I
On the drive Duke and Audrey talk about what’s going to happen. All the real Audrey knows about is that they’re going to be in town and wanted to say hello. They decide to play it casual.

Audrey goes to Audrey’s, the real one (RO). She opens the door and welcomes them. Duke asks her how she is and she says okay thanking him again for finding her.

Inside RO’s place Brad, Duke, and Audrey sit. Audrey, from Haven, asks her if she remembers anything. “No”, she says, “nothing from my stay in Haven except you being really nice to me and Brad coming”. Then Brad comments on her name being the same asking for her last name. Duke says “Ripley”. “Oh, for a minute I thought you were going to say Parker, that’s one of the reasons I was in Haven so long, to find out who was impersonating me. So they tell me.” RO says. Duke asks “Did they ever find her, the woman impersonating you?” She shakes her head, “No, but I’m Audrey Rogers now.” Audrey and Duke congratulate her on getting married. Duke passes Audrey a look and she confirms – he should get Brad out of the room so she can talk with RO privately. Duke asks to use the restroom and to get Brad out of the room so Audrey can talk to RO alone. “If you want to tell me something without Brad here?” Audrey shakes her head, “No, Brad and I don’t have any secrets, I really don’t remember anything.” RO turns to the kitchen awkward and offers Audrey something to drink.

At the police station, someone asks for the chief, specifically wants the chief to come over to their house because something strange is going on. Dwight takes the call and goes over to the man’s house, but the man had wanted Nathan they grew up together in grade school. Dwight tells him Nathan’s not available, he’s recovering from an injury but he’ll help him. The man explains the situation and yells at the crying baby, as they are talking the baby disappears. Dwight then wonders if this could be his trouble – making those he’s upset with disappear he takes him into the police station and asks Stan to take the kids. The man is saddened insisting he didn’t do anything.

Audrey had asked Dave and Vince to check up on Nathan, which they fight about before they have him for lunch at the newspaper. However the lunch is really a ploy; with newspaper clippings Vince and Dave try to help him remember. Nathan is annoyed that all people want from him is to remember who he is and heal the troubled but he doesn’t know how or what he can do.

At the police station in the interrogation room Dwight asks the man if he had a fight with his wife recently. Yes, he says, they’ve had money problems and with four kids it’s hard. But I didn’t do anything he says thinking they’re thinking he killed or abused her.

Nathan wanting to escape from Vince and Dave makes his way out of the Harold’s restroom window and goes to the police station where the friend from grade school now sitting outside the interrogation room in cuffs asks for his help. But Nathan doesn’t remember him.

Act II
In the police station the man says they were friends in grade school until the troubles started the last time, and he’s sorry he didn’t stay his friend things were…strange he says in great detail reminding Nathan what happened then, the story of how he broke his arm sledding and kept on going. Nathan remembers. Nathan remembers the man defended him in middle school. The man says he always wanted to be nicer and he’s ashamed he didn’t do more. Dwight’s encouraged that Nathan remembers so he lets them talk as he checks on the man’s alibi.

At Audrey’s, the real one, Duke, Brad, and the Audrey’s are chatting about Audrey’s time in Haven (leaving out any of the troubles) they laugh and Brad says “that sounds like Audrey”. Then the real Audrey asks “you’re not here to talk about this?’ The fake Audrey says, “No we’re not.” First Audrey, the fake one, asks her about the mark on the body, wondering if she’s ever seen anything like this before in any previous cases. She looks at it and says no, but I can check for you. She still works for the FBI. She questions if this is the only reason they came. Duke confesses, “No”. Audrey, the fake one says a man has lost his memories in the same place they found her and they’re wondering if the two cases are related.

Brad asks Audrey not to press because most likely something traumatic happened and she shouldn’t remember. Audrey, the real one, holds him back saying it’s my choice I want to help. Brad is still concerned but he backs down. Audrey, the real one asks how she can help. Audrey suggests regression therapy.

Dwight at the police station has checked up on the wife, using her credit card information he finds she was at the store after her husband talked to her on the phone so it’s not his trouble. He wasn’t anywhere near her since then. He was on a conference call with work so he couldn’t have done it. They send him home with his kids. Nathan goes with him.

Vince and Dave having checked on Nathan in the bathroom and realizing he’s gone say “they really need to get that window sealed”.

Nathan is at the house where the husband is with his kids. Nathan questions him to see if it’s a trouble asking if anything traumatic has happened in his wife’s life recently. He learns her brother just died so this being her trouble is defiantly a huge possibility. As Nathan and the man are talking they lose the three year old as well. They’re afraid the other children will start to disappear. They frantically start looking.

Act III
The real Audrey, Audrey Rogers, gets comfortable on the bed as Brad watches. As the Audrey from Haven asks for quiet.  Audrey gets into the regression telling Mrs. Rogers that she’s in a white room. It immediately takes her to the inside of a barn. Audrey asks her what she sees. Audrey, the real one remembers a man. Audrey, the fake one asks if this man is African American when Audrey says no, he was white with brown hair but I can’t make out his face she says and what the audience sees is a blurry photo. He said, “You’ve never come this close before.” Then when he came up close he said, “You’re not her.” He was disappointed like he wasn’t expecting me. The scene plays out in her memory. “You shouldn’t be here” he tries to get her out. She wouldn’t leave until she had her questions answered. Then “I” she pauses. It gets back to Audrey, the real one, on her bed. “I don’t remember what happened.” Audrey, the fake one says, what’s the next thing you remember? I think I left and then. She then starts to panic. Brad gets upset. Audrey, the fake one, pulls her out of regression therapy.

In Haven, in the house Nathan and the father, as they are searching for the three year old, in the backyard as well as the kitchen watch as the diner starts cooking bowls floating on their own. Nathan figures out that the man’s wife is invisible and checks the bedrooms, the children were simply put down for their naps. They try to communicate with the woman but they can’t seem to. She continues to make dinner. Suddenly the dishes crash – something is wrong but they don’t know what. Nathan realizes they need Audrey, maybe she’ll be able to see her with her immunity. They call Audrey.

In Boston, Audrey, the fake one, gets a text. She tells Brad and Audrey RO, “we don’t want to put her in danger, we’ll have to find another way to get answers.” Duke is about to object when she shows him the text, they need to get back to Haven, she explains.

At the house in Haven, the husband feels helpless as they continue to try and talk to the wife.

Act IV
At night Audrey arrives at the woman’s house and finds the woman is on the ground disappearing completely. Audrey can see her the woman’s leg goes right through Nathan as he explains where she was when she dropped the dish. Audrey tells Nathan to stand off her and is able to get the woman to talk to her after she explains how she got in her house. The woman had no idea her husband was calling her.

Audrey finds out holding the child on the way back from the store, which was the last time someone spoke to her, she felt invisible when a women looked at the baby instead of her. Audrey realizes that’s her problem. Audrey tries to help Nathan so he can cure her but he can’t see or touch her to do it. Instead Audrey talks to her and gets her to stop feeling invisible by translating for the husband and children’s words, it works a little enough for Nathan to touch her, but it doesn’t make her completely visible, they don’t understand why. Audrey continues to translate for the husband, the women then feels like she’s seen again. And the husband promises never to treat her like she’s invisible again not at all scared by her trouble.

Nathan didn’t cure that women again he’s not sure he can cure everyone but he feels like himself again he was a good cop and solved the case, finding the children in their beds. Dwight’s glad he’s back but he still doesn’t remember Audrey, which Audrey is saddened by.

When Audrey and Duke get back to the Gull Duke says, “Maybe it’s okay if he doesn’t remember. What’s Nathan’s going to say when he remembers you shot him?” She doesn’t say anything but looks discouraged. Duke says “you could always leave him for someone better”. She turns to him and smirks, saying “Duke” an apologetic look in her eyes. She has to turn him down. He nods, “I know I’m crushed but I know.” Then Duke says, “If you love him you have to love the Nathan that he is now, isn’t that what love is?” She asks him, “When did you get so smart?”.  He says, “I’ve always been this way you just never noticed.”

In a pow wow Dave and Vince know It’s a problem that Nathan couldn’t cure her because he’s not immune to the troubles. It was impossible, we still don’t know how this works, Vince says.

A taxi pulls up to the edge of Haven. A man steps out with a duffle bag. It’s James, Nathan and Audrey’s son.
