Dave steps forward, “We suspect from our research it was an ancient witch’s ceremony.”

Vince interrupts, “but we can’t be sure.”

Dave surly says, “They were standing in a circle chanting, what else would it have been and they all had the mark.”

He stops but doesn’t turn back around.

“I know how much you love me but thinking me evil you choose good instead no matter what the cost, I know it hurts but”

He pulls out the ring. “It allowed me to get out somehow.”

Vince and Dave look at the ring,

“Was it for Audrey?”  Dave asks.

“Yeah.” Nathan says, “It was my grandmother’s ring, they were married for 50 years.”

“Finally.” Dwight says.

Nathan looks to him and nods.

Under his breath Duke says, “Join the club.”

Daniel looks to him and says “What?” not hearing him.

Dwight looks to Daniel, “Mavis is the witch, the one at the docks you fought?”

Daniel says “yes”.

Skeptical Nathan says, “If you’re Audrey’s father how is it that you’re still alive?”

Daniel nods knowing that’s a good question, “Audrey and I went into the barn together.” He says.

Dwight finishes the redressing and Daniel thanks him.

Daniel continues, “The barn kept us alive.” he stands up and says to Nathan, “I first heard of you after Sarah’s visit to Haven in 1955, when you impregnated my daughter and promptly left.” He says angrily.

Nathan backs down understanding that as her father he’s not very happy about that situation.

“We have to help Audrey.” Daniel says, wanting to put all their differences aside.

“We don’t know where she is.” Duke says exasperated as if Daniel should know about that.

“Do you have a map of Haven?” Daniel asks.

Nathan pulls a map off the wall and hands it to Daniel. He places it on the table and scribbles on it. “Mavis, my wife is a creature of habit likes familiar ground, superstitious she insists important things are done on witches’ sacred ground.”

While Daniel marks up the map, Duke asks Daniel, “What makes her the most feared woman in Haven?”

Daniel speaks as if it’s common knowledge, “Mavis created the troubles?”

Everyone stops what they’re doing shocked.

Nathan, panicked, turns to Daniel, “She’s going to trouble Audrey?” Nathan asks assuming the answer is yes.

Daniel shakes his head, “No, she couldn’t even if she wanted to Mavis made herself and any offspring she might have immune to the troubles. She wants Audrey to be a witch like her. She tried when she was little forcing her to do unimaginably cruel things till it becomes part of who she is.”

Daniel hands them the map marked up, “these are the places she would be.”

They all look to the map eager to find Audrey.

“So, you’re new with the police department?” Daniel asks James.

“Un-officially working with them.” James says focused ahead.

“Can you have this conversation later?” Nathan gripes.

Daniel nods.

“So, what’s your plan?” Nathan asks.

“To get to her.” Daniel says and thrusts ahead.

“That’s a great plan.” Nathan says sarcastically.

James shrugs. “Why is he even here?” James asks.

“It was easier than ditching him.” Nathan says annoyed he rushes to catch up to Daniel.

As they walk they hear shots fired in the distance.

“It stopped.” James says as they all look towards the sound.

Daniel heads in the other direction on a mission.

“Where are you going?” Nathan asks, “the shooting is this way.” He gestures towards the shooting.

“But she loves him.” Daniel says referring to Nathan.

“Get away from her.” Nathan demands and holds the gun up on Mavis.

“Reverend Lewis? She’s not a witch.” Daniel declares quite certain.

“We saw a mark on her chest that proves otherwise.” Duke says annoyed.

“She couldn’t be you love her. The reason Mavis couldn’t be around Nathan and Audrey is because the witches can’t be around love it causes them physical pain.”

Duke suddenly understands, “Love conquers all.” Duke says under his breath.

Daniel turns to Duke serious, “Sam had a mark on her chest a swirl, like Willow when she died?” Daniel asks insistent he answer that very moment.

“Yeah” James says sneaking into the room. “But ah…it’s possible she was telling the truth that she got it weeks before Willow’s murder.” James says.

Daniel with a look of realization says, “It didn’t work.”

Duke turns to him annoyed, “What didn’t work?”

“The ceremony.” Daniel says, “To get Mavis out of her prison, they need four witches. They would have had to trick her to be involved in it and no matter what you believe she loves God it’s in everything she does. She ruined their ceremony. They wanted revenge but they couldn’t get close to her because of you. Because you love each other.”

Duke sighs heartbroken, “And then I left her, they’re going to kill her.”

Daniel shakes his head, “No, they’re going to trouble her. In the worst possible way they can imagine.”

FOREST

Sam’s feet are tried together just enough to walk. Her hands are bound and a rope hangs from the cords. A masked blond holds the rope pulling her along. She walks with four people, the same masked man, the brunette, and Mavis. Sam looks forlorn and hopeless. The blond pulls Sam along.

Ahead of them Mavis talks with the masked brunette, “It’s a good thing he left her hopeless. Otherwise we would have had to simply kill her.”

The brunette turns to Mavis, “The fates smile on us that the little girl got confused.”

“Yes,” Mavis says more threatened than pleased, “but none of you should get too cocky that is why my last coven was defeated.” Mavis looks to the blond.

The brunette says, “I’ll make sure to talk to her.”

Sam looks to the blond, “You don’t have to do this.”

“Why?” The blond asks angrily, “You’re nothing special Sam I am.”

Sam looks to the woman deep in her green eyes and shutters. “Kat?” she questions feeling heartbroken.

The group looks back stopping.

Kat pulls off her mask, “Yes, big sister. It’s me. I have the power now.”

Sam shakes her head, “What are you talking about?”

“I’m not your pathetic little sister anymore.” Kat raises her hand and holds it up.

Sam starts to hold her throat, like she’s being strangled. She falls to her knees and Kat smiles.

“Stop it!” The brunette woman yells. “We want to trouble her not kill her.”

Kat lets her hand down letting go of Sam’s neck.

Sam’s knees on the ground she puts her face to the ground as she takes deep breaths. Betrayal on her face, she looks up at Kat and down saddened, “You killed Willow?”

The brunette looks around annoyed, “We have to keep moving.” she says.

They approach a clearing, where a circle has been drawn. Sam is pulled along by a rope.

INT. POLICE STATION, JAIL CELL ROOM - DAY

Duke turns to Daniel, “Do you know where they’d take her?’

“Most likely in the place she betrayed them.”

“By Mrs. O’Riley’s house.” James says.

Duke turns to leave, Daniel grabs him. “They have to be completely focused chanting so just walk in and get her out.” Daniel says as he holds his chest, bleeding again. Duke sees him bleed and knows he can’t come.

Duke barrels out of the station.

FOREST - NIGHT

Sam stands in the middle of a circle, her ties pinned down into the dirt. The four witches around her chanting. She tries to pull at her ropes but they won’t budge.

Duke hides in the forest. With a leap of faith he simply walks towards Sam, into the circle of witches as they chant.

The witches continue chanting focused but they begin to shake in pain.

“Sam.” Duke says and he runs to her.

“Duke” she smiles happy he’s there. He tries to get the ropes off her hands but can’t. He pulls at the ropes but they are stuck in the ground.

“They won’t budge.” She says, “You need to go.” She pleads with him as he continues to pull at the ropes yet they don’t budge, “they’re going to trouble me Duke.” She says with tears falling down her cheeks, “You need to go.”

“No, I’m not leaving you. I’m sorry I didn’t believe you. I do now.”

“It’s okay. I forgive you.” Sam cries, “You need to go.”

“I’m not leaving you.” He says and holds her close. Blood begins to pour from the witches noises.

Sam leans up and kisses Duke deeply. As they kiss a thunderous bang erupts like a bomb exploding from Duke and Sam.

Dirt flies, Sam and Duke become the epicenter of a crater. In the hills a loud bang is heard.
