S6 E11 “National Security” - Haven Rewrites

S6 E11 “National Security” –As the Haven Police Department is under FBI investigation an explosion makes it look like a terrorist lives there. When Audrey, Nathan, Daniel, Dwight, and James try to investigate the trouble responsible, they end up in prison.

Previously on Haven/Haven Rewrites;
FBI Agent Walker came in and was oblivious to what’s going on in Haven. But back home in front of an FBI committee, he’s accused Haven of being corrupt, advising the FBI to take over.
Daniel was married to Mavis in the 1750s, the witch who is responsible for the troubles. But he left before his daughter, Audrey was born.

Teaser
An FBI van enters Haven. Mavis from a mountaintop watches and smiles, in a blur she runs off.

Audrey and Daniel stand watching the Spring Festival; a parade featuring the local scouts, a princes' float, and the band goes through Main Street. Audrey and Daniel stand on duty watching the crowd. Daniel fusses with his feet, leaning from one to the other. “Dad, are you alright?” Audrey asks.
Daniel smiles, “It’s nice that we get to do this together.” He says smiling at his daughter.
Audrey smiles, “Yeah and Nathan really needed a day off.”

In front of the police department, Waller pulls up in a black FBI van, a young agent beside. As Waller enters the station the young agent is following closely behind him. Waller declares to everyone there, “Stop everything you are doing!”
No one is there but Dwight, in his office, who looks up from his computer seeing Waller he’s perturbed. He goes to the door with a gruff look on his face saying, “What are you doing here?”
Agent Waller holds up a warrant, “I have authority from the FBI to gather all your files, Chief Hendrickson.”

A young man runs through the trees of Haven. Panicked, fear in his eyes.

At the Spring Festival, Audrey and Daniel watch the streets. Daniel tells Audrey, “Maybe after this we can have lunch.”
Audrey nods, observing the parade, “That sounds nice.”

Suddenly the man running cuts across Main Street, cuts through the parade, through the high school band. He grabs onto the band members as he goes, asking them “Help, help me.” He pleads. The high schoolers avoid him.
Audrey and Daniel run up to him. They meet the man at the other side of the street. He clings to Audrey as Daniel listens intently. The man says, “Help me he says. Mavis, she's.”
Suddenly there’s an explosion, one of the band kids explodes. In the confusion, the man grabbing Audrey runs off.

Daniel flashes back on 1754, when a man bleeding from his ears comes to him and Norman in the woods, hanging on Daniel he warns him, “Mavis, Mavis, she’s….” the man says and is unable to say more coughing up blood he dies.
Daniel, saddened closes the man’s eyes, “Norman, this has to stop.”
“He was trying to warn us.” Norman says dismissive of Daniel’s comment, “You have to figure out what Mavis is doing.”
“We know what she’s doing, she’s troubling the town,” Daniel yells annoyed.
Norman grabs Daniel’s head in his hands, “Victor wouldn’t have come to us if that was all it was.” Norman says insistent, “She’s your wife, you have to find out what she’s up to.”
Daniel walks into his house and is met with Mavis, pregnant with Audrey.

Back in the present, crime scene tape is up as Audrey and Daniel look over the scene. Body parts in the street.
Dwight pulls up behind them in his truck, Waller is with him on the phone in the car. Dwight comes up to Daniel and Audrey distressed.
“It was Mavis.” Daniel tells him, “She’s up to something new.”
Dwight whispers to them, “Find out what you can, discreetly.”
Audrey and Daniel look to Dwight confused.
FBI Agent Waller comes out of Dwight’s truck a young agent following him and yells, “Everyone stop what you are doing. This is an FBI investigation. Any cell phone footage goes with Agent Carson here!” Agent Waller yells to the crowd pointing to the young man beside him.
Audrey sighs annoyed.

Act I
The police station is abandoned.

In Nathan and Audrey’s house Duke, James, Daniel, Audrey, Dwight, and Nathan stand around looking forlorn, “What are we going to do about the FBI in Haven?” Nathan asks.
Duke offers up, “Audrey, Agent Audrey is looking into it. Waller’s convinced the FBI we were falsifying police reports.”
“Which is a good thing.” Dwight offers up.
Annoyed, James declares, “How is that a good thing?”
“His warrant only gives him authority to search our files. He can’t arrest anyone until he has evidence.” Dwight offers.
James argues, “But we are falsifying reports, and we keep the real ones in the department, which he’s taken over.”
Audrey steps up, “He’d be stupid to submit any of those reports to the FBI courts.  They’d laugh him out of the courtroom.”
“Audrey and I are writing horror for a TV show,” Nathan suggests their cover lie.
“But.” Daniel interrupts, “You’re forgetting there was an explosion which could bring News trucks to Haven.” Daniel suggests continuing with, “Mavis and Waller could be working together.”
Audrey shakes her head, “No. I don’t think so.”
“She’s up to something.” Daniel insists, “That man knew she was up to something.”
“Yes,” Audrey agrees, “we have to find him and find out what he knows.”
“We need to know what Agent Waller is doing,” Duke says siding with Daniel.
Dwight sighs seeing the disagreement he says, “Duke you shouldn’t be involved in this.”
Duke shakes his head annoyed, “No, I…”
“We’ll be impeding a federal investigation. If something happens to us Waller won’t suspect you.”
          Duke nods in agreement.
“We’re going to find that man and spy on Agent Waller,” Dwight says.
          Daniel looks off into the distance, he flashes back to 1754;
“We need to spy on Mavis. We need to know what she’s up to.” Norman argues as men begin to hammers holes in the outside of Daniel’s cabin.
Daniel looks on not pleased, “I live with the woman, aren’t I enough.” He pleads saying, “Do they really need to make holes in my house?” Daniel says annoyed.
“Put these glass pieces over it, courtesy of my wife.” He says handing glass pieces with ornate Migma design over to Daniel. Awkwardly Daniel takes them as Norman continues saying, “We’ll be able to see her but she won’t be able to see us.”
Daniel sighs whispering annoyed, “I guess I can’t do anything.”
Norman warns the men, “She’ll be home from the market soon.”
In the cabin that night, Daniel comes home. Rain begins to trickle through the slats and onto the ground, angrily Mavis puts cups underneath the drips as she complains to Daniel, “How come you didn’t seal the roof today?”
          “I thought I did.”
“You were out protecting the troubled, weren’t you? Instead of carrying for your family.”
          “I thought I fixed it.”
“You obviously didn’t do enough. You can’t do anything right can you?” Mavis begins to yell, “I ask you to fix the lopsided bed, the squeaky door, and the stove. I can’t make a decent thing on it. What a sorry excuse of a husband you turned out to be. I’d hate to think what kind of a father you’ll be.”
Daniel walks into the bedroom and mopes, sighing upset.

At the hospital, Agent Waller questions witnesses with a young agent beside him taking notes. They talk to multiple people in different rooms. They talk to teenagers and teachers asking about the explosion and the boy Terrance who was the focal point of the explosion. They get responses like, “He was a good kid, a good student.” They all say, “He was nice, kind of shy.” “He loved that trombone, a real geek about it. When Agent Waller asks, “Do you think Terrance has any sympathies with any groups that might be violent?” each person says “Are you accusing Terrance of being a terrorist?” perturbed and disagreeing with the assessment. A teacher even insists he wasn’t.
In the hallway Agent Carson, the young agent beside him asks point blank, “Do you really think this teenager was a terrorist?”
“He was a shy kid that kept to himself.” Agent Waller argues.
“So was I.” Carson declares, revealing there’s not enough evidence of terrorism, “Why would a terrorist strike Haven Maine?”
Agent Waller looks to Carson serious, “Small towns create more panic, the Federal Government can’t regulate all of them. That boy committed a terrorist act.”
Just then Dave and Vince approach Waller.
“Agent Waller.” Vince says, “I’m Vince and this is my brother Dave, we’re from the Haven Harold the local paper and were wondering.”
Agent Waller starts to move through them saying, “I cannot talk about an ongoing investigation.”
“Oh of course not.” Dave says, “We completely understand that. We want to do an expose on you for the paper.”
“Show Haven who are you,” Vince adds as if he’s starstruck by Agent Waller.
Agent Waller is pleased, “Alright.”
Carson objects, “Sir.”
Agent Waller holds his hand up to him to shut him up, “Go look through the cell phone footage. And start looking through their files.”
Carson simply sighs heavily as he leaves to go do what he’s told.
“We know you’re busy with the investigation, we just thought we’d ask is there is anything you’d like to tell the people of Haven…” Vince asks surreptitiously placing emphasis on “you’d”.
Agent Waller flatters opens his mouth to talk.

Through a land line’s speaker, Dave’s voice bellows loudly, “He’s acting as if this is a terrorist act.” Audrey, Nathan, James, and Dwight stand over the speaker in Audrey and Nathan’s house.
Sitting in the Harold Vince argues with Dave, “I just said that.”
“Well I said it better.” Dave presses back.
“You didn’t have any problems?” Dwight asks standing with Audrey and Nathan.
“None at all.” Dave says with a smug look on his face. “Once we appealed to his ego he spilled everything.”
“Did they ID the man who ran through the crowd?” Nathan asks.
“We managed to follow them around a bit.” Vince brags.
“Reactivated the cameras Mavis hid in the department.” Dave with pride.
There’s a flashback on Dave and Vince watching the feed from the cameras; Agent Carson tells Waller he has something and plays a video for him, pausing it on the young man running as he touches Terrance Carson says, “Terrance was the first person he touched, I think this man stashed something on him.”
Back at Audrey and Nathan’s Vince declares, “The running man is the one troubled.”
“Who is he?” Nathan asks eagerly.
“Carson Ided him through my Harold photos.” Dave brags since he took to the photos. Vince rolls his eyes.
Flashback: At the police station in Audrey and Nathan’s office Carter grabs the Church Deacons Board photo among a group of them and takes it to Waller in the Chief’s office, “It’s Huck Finch.” Carson declares pointing to him in the photo.
“Huck Finch.” Daniel declares, “Of course. He’d be at the church. He’s a Deacon at the church.”
Audrey temporarily annoyed Daniel didn’t pick up on that early goes with Nathan, Dwight, James, and Daniel as they head out.

At the church Sam is in the sanctuary reaching into a cabinet to pull out candles.
Someone comes up behind her. It’s Huck. Seeing him she’s startled but then calms, “Huck, you scared me.”
“Sorry.” Huck says sheepishly.
Sam smiles, “That’s okay.” She says leaning down to reach deep into the cabin for more candles she asks Huck, “Are you here for the candlelight service.”
“Yeah.” He says in a crocking voice.
“Everyone is meeting at the park for it.” Sam says, finally reaching the candle in the cabin she slowly pulls her arm out, rolling it against the shelf. Sam places the candle in the overflowing box of candles and looks to Huck, “I could use your help with the candles” she asks. But seeing Huck distressed she steps away from the candles and stands up facing Huck. She asks, “What’s up?” But when she goes over to comfort him he dodges back, not letting her near him.
“Huck what’s wrong?” Sam inquires gently with compassion.
“I…I’m responsible.” He says terrified.
Sam pausing realizes speaking slowly and with great compassion in her eyes, “The bombing? It’s your trouble?”
Without much movement Huck nods.
Just then the door bursts open. Huck jumps. It’s Audrey, Nathan, Dwight, Daniel, and James. Seeing Huck Audrey holds her hands out indicating that Daniel, James, Dwight, and Nathan should stay back as she approaches.
“Huck, you were at the parade today asking for help.” Audrey says compassionately, Sam puts up her finger uncertain if she should interrupt this unnecessary speech. She doesn’t as Audrey goes on, “We want to help you. I know this is going to be hard to hear but you’re troubled.”
“I know.” He says calmly and Audrey stops. Huck confesses what happened, “I just touched him and he exploded. All day I’ve been walking around afraid to touch anything. I don’t want to hurt anyone else.”
Audrey takes his hand and he startles, “You can’t hurt me.” She says, “I’m immune to the troubles.” She relays with compassion.
Stepping up to him Daniel says, “We need to know.” Asking, compassionately, “What did Mavis do?”
Shuttering Huck responds, “She came at me this morning, in a blurry haze and touched me. It felt so cold.”
“She activated the trouble.” James says, “She knows that Agent Waller is obsessed with finding a terrorist. She’s playing him.”
Nathan looks to Daniel, pleased for once Daniel was wrong, “Mavis isn’t working with Agent Waller.”
Huck’s distressed, “That FBI agent. Is he after me?”
Dwight assures him, “Don’t worry about that. We’ll worry about that.”
“We can heal you, if you come with us.” Audrey assures him.
          Huck nods ready to go.
As Nathan, Audrey, James, Dwight, and Huck make their way out of the church Dwight says, “We’ll have to get you out of town so Agent Waller doesn’t find you.” They run into Agent Waller, Agent Carson behind him. Agent Waller’s van blocks their escape. Waller’s heard what Dwight’s said and is not pleased.
“You’re all under arrest for impeding a federal investigation.” Agent Waller says.

Act II
As Nathan, Audrey, Huck, James, Dwight, and Daniel are pulled into the station chained together in handcuffs James insists to both Waller and Agent Carson, “This isn’t what you think it is, the bombing.”
Nathan backs him up saying, “We know this town.”
Dwight sighs saying to Waller, “Waller you already know what happens here you simply don’t want to believe it.”
As the others are put into prison cells, Audrey separate from the men, she whispers to Huck,       “Stay calm, you can control your trouble if you stay calm.”
Huck nods shaking afraid.
Waller tells Carson to put Huck in the interrogation room. Huck pulls away from Carson saying, “I know where it is.” Carson lets him go there himself.

Waller enters the Chief’s office Sam waiting, “Thank you for coming in cooperatively.”
“Of course.” Sam says, “I just want to be helpful.”
“You always have been.” Waller says smitten with Sam. He looks down at her statement she’s written.
Sam on the surface smiles sweetly but inside she’s creeped out.
“I know.” Waller says, “You’ve been dragged into their mess and with a corrupt police department what can you do. And to then be threatened by a man with a bomb.”
Sam having to bite her tongue says, “It has been difficult living in Haven.” Sam says nodding but on the inside she’s sticking out her tongue about to vomit she’s grossed out. “I keep having to pick up the pieces after something tragic like this happens try and convince the people God is with them.”
Agent Waller sighs as if empathizing with her.
“I was actually going to lead a candlelight service in the park for the victims in about ten minutes.” Sam says giving him puppy dog eyes pleading with him. “I can come back after.”
“Oh…oh no.” He says waving her off, “I think we have what we need.” He pats the pad on the desk—her statement.
Sam gets up and leaves, her back to him her eyes show she’s thoroughly creeped out.
Outside the police station Sam makes a phone call simply saying, “Meet me at the park.”
Duke on the other end stands in the Gull. He simply says, “Okay.”

At the Park, Sam pulls into the parking lot. Cars are lined up for the memorial service. Duke stands at the curb near his parked jeep. Sam jumps out holding the box of candles.
“You need help?” Duke asks.
“No…yes but I need to find someone.” She notices Susie walking up on the grass in front of them and runs to her, “Susie oh Susie I need your help.”
“Of course.” Susie says calm as ever.
“Can you lead the service, say a prayer and give everyone a chance to talk. Here are the candles.”
Susie nods, “Yeah of course. Everything okay?” She asks. But Sam is hesitant to say anything. Susie nods, “Dwight’s in trouble isn’t he?”
Sam shocked asks, “How?”
“I’m going to marry the man I know he’s in trouble. He’s the chief of police of Haven, when is he not in trouble. Go, do what you need to do.” Susie says grabbing the box of candles from Sam.
“Thank you.” Sam says with deep gratitude and heads towards Duke’s jeep.
Duke follows asking, “What happened?”
“Dwight, Audrey, Nathan, and James were arrested along with Huck, who’s trouble blows people up.”
Duke reeling from the news stars blankly as Sam opens the passenger-side door of his jeep. Quickly he places his hand on the car door Sam tries to open, closing it and says, “Wait. What are you going to do?”
“Agent Waller has a weird selective memory crush on me so I thought I’d keep him from Huck somehow. But I need you to watch Carson.”
“Oh, okay.” Duke says letting her get in and goes around to get in the driver side.
“Should I be worried my husband is so cool with this.” Sam ask getting in the jeep.

Carson in Audrey and Nathan’s office looks at case files and compares them with Harold articles. “Another gas leak.” He exclaims and reads a case report, “Town wide comma?” Carson says shocked. He quickly matches up the dates on the files with the Harold articles, one tragic thing after another; Big foot, witches. He rushes out of the office to Waller. “You need to look at these.” He urges him.
Waller, turns to Carson annoyed, “What’s so urgent?”
“These police reports read like fiction, but they match up to the Harold articles.”
“Make a report.” Agent Waller says shooing him away, “I have a case of terrorism I have to take care of.”
Carson leaves sighing, “I’m beginning to think the Detectives were right, they know this town better than we do.
He sits down at Audrey’s desk, with the real files in front of him.

In the prison cells, As Nathan, Daniel, James and Dwight stew in one Audrey stews in another. Daniel sits near Audrey, “Are you alright?” he asks.
Audrey nods, “As alright as I can be.” She says knowing that she might die in there. She sits up and leans in towards Daniel, “Dad, why were you so insistent that Mavis was up to something?”
Daniel sighs, “I still think she is. What happened with Huck this morning reminded me so much of my past.” Daniel quickly flashes back on 1754 to the man bleeding from his ears comes to him, hanging on him warning him about Mavis.
Sitting in the prison cell Daniel tells Audrey, “He was trying to warn us that Mavis was poisoning me.”
Audrey looks to her father shocked.
“I think they call them downers now.” He says.
Audrey looks to him shocked. But Daniel simply looks off flashing back to 1754. In his house with Mavis, the glass Migma designs on the walls, Mavis crumples powder into Daniel’s food as if it’s flour, “Dinner’s ready.” She says grumbling.
In their bedroom Daniel leans against a corner holding his head in his hands, as Mavis yells at him, “You are a sorry excuse of a man, let alone a husband. You can’t seem to fix anything around here. What are you crying for? You’ll be a horrid father.”
Daniel narrates, “I think Mavis wanted me to kill myself.” Daniel in 1754 sits in the dark, with Mavis asleep in their bed. He places a gun in his throat narrating, “I thought about it. But…” Daniel lowers the gun and gathers his things leaving the cabin with a pack over his shoulder. He narrates, “Instead I left.”
In the jail cell Audrey looks to Daniel hanging his head low with pity in her eyes.
Daniel continues, “I left you with your mother.”
Audrey looks up to him with pity and says, “It’s not your fault.” starting a speech.
But Daniel interrupts, “I don’t want anything like that to happen again.”
Audrey nods, reaching through the bars she takes his hand, understanding her father was just trying to protect her.

Just then in the main room of the police station, Mavis walks in asking, “Hello, is anyone there?”
Waller sees her from the Chief’s office and walks to her asking, “Can I help you?”
Acting sweet she says, “I was told that my daughter and her husband are in prison and I should come take custody of my granddaughter.”
Carson shows up behind her saying, “Duke and Reverend Crocker are listed as her guardians.”
Mavis disappointed flexes her hand ready to strike when Sam and Duke arrive together, seeing Mavis Duke quickly takes Sam’s hand. Mavis clenches in pain and has no choice but to turn towards them. The tension in the room is palpable.
Sam clutching Duke’s hand greats her with a simple, “Mavis.”
Mavis responds cordially “Reverend Lewis, Duke.” Standing down as she clenches in pain.
Sam moves so that the path to the exit is clear, “You’re free to go.” She says.
Mavis walks around them as they continue to stare at her Sam leaning into Duke and him wrapping his arm around her lovingly. Mavis clenches more in pain as they do.
Carson looks on wondering what that was about but moving on he says, “You got my message.”
Sam nods oblivious to what the message was, “I’ll get the custody forms you need to fill out, just come into the office.” Carson asks nicely leading the way. Torn Sam looks to Waller, who goes back into the Chief’s office. She whispers to Duke, “We need to make sure Danielle’s safe.” And taps Duke to go into the office with Carson.
Inside Audrey and Nathan’s office Carson explains that the forms are to take temporary custody of Danielle Warnous, while her parents are incarcerated.
Duke and Sam quickly sign as does Carson as a witness. Just then Waller exits his office and heads to the interrogation room. But before Sam can get up Carson does telling them, “Sorry I need to…” He leaves the room and heads out towards Waller.
In the main room of the station he reaches the interrogation room before Waller goes inside, “You can’t question him alone.” Carson declares saying, “It’s against regulation.” Carson stares down a very unhappy Waller.

In Audrey and Nathan’s office Sam turns to Duke, “Go, get Danielle. She needs to be kept safe. You can do that better than I can.”
“What about you?” Duke inquires.
“I need to stay. Go.” Sam says kissing him deeply. Ripping herself from him she heads out to the main room and tells Waller and Carson, “I can help. I want to help.”
Carson and Waller turn to her and stare as Duke reluctantly leaves the station looking to her longingly as he’s behind Carson and Waller, just before he leaves.
“You can’t help Reverend Lewis, this is an FBI investigation.” Carson explains opening the door to the interrogation room.
Sam yells, “Don’t touch him. He doesn’t like it.”
Carson looks to her seemingly respectful of the request but Waller says, “Is that so.” He barges into the interrogation room.
Looking up to Waller, Huck pleads, “Please get me away from them.”
“The ones you were brought in with?” Carson asks on the far side of the room.
Huck nods.
Waller gets in Huck’s face. He turns from him trying not to let the tip of his nose touch Waller, “I’ll do that as soon as you tell me who you’re working for.” Waller demands.
Pleading Huck says, “I’m not working for anyone.”
“Well then.” Waller says grabbing him and dragging him out of the room.
Carson is shocked and doesn’t know what to do simply shouting, “Let him go.”
Huck tries to break free as Waller declares, “You’ll get to share a cell with the others if you don’t tell me.” He drags Huck out of the room towards the prison cells where Audrey, Nathan, James, Dwight, and Daniel are. Huck pleading trying to break free from Waller’s drip around his neck. Carson following him says “Stop this.” Sam watches in horror tackles Carson saying, “Get down.”
Huck gets loose and runs just before Waller blows up.
Duke outside sees and hears the explosion as he drives in his jeep, “Sam?” He calls out and begins to turn the jeep around.

Act III
Inside the station, the entrance is blocked, the roof has caved in. Waller is dead, exploded and Sam is hurt, laying on top of Carson whose ears are ringing.
Duke pulls up to the station just as an ambulance does. He runs up to the entrance saying, “My wife is in there.”
The male paramedic tells him, “We can’t get inside.”
Noelle, the young woman paramedic says, “The fire department is on their way.”
Duke turns to her, “Noelle can I have some of your blood, in a vile?” He asks her.
She looks at him questioning this.
“It’s my trouble.” He says, “I can get the door open with it.”
She nods. The man pull out a syringe and takes her blood. They give Duke a vile of it, and clip it onto a necklace. He squeezes a bit out onto his skin. His eyes turn silver and he breaks through the door. He lifts the beams in the way. Carson sees him lift beams on the way to Sam. He’s shocked but yells, “She’s hurt.” Referring to Sam still on top of him.
The paramedics run to Sam, attending to her. They pull in a stretcher and lift her onto it. The male paramedic says, “She’s alive.”
Noelle assures Duke, “I’ll make sure she’s okay.”
Putting his hand on Noelle’s shoulder he says, “Thank you Noelle.” And looks around at the rubble. The station is in ruins.
Carson turns to Duke, “She saved my life. She knew touching him.”
“Where’s Waller?” Duke says angrily.
“He exploded.” Carson says still in shock, “The man didn’t put anything on him. It really is a trouble.”
“How did you?” Duke asks.
“The case files.” Carson says.
“Where are Audrey and Nathan?” Duke demands to know.
Carson looks to the hallway that’s blocked, just as the fire department arrives.
Duke, putting more blood on him causing his eyes to turn silver, he lifts out debris and enters the cell area.
Carson looks on in shock.

In the prison cell’s Audrey sees Duke coming. She calls out to him, “Duke.”
“Can you get us out?” James asks.
“It’s tempting to leave you here.” Duke says looking in glee to them in prison.
“Duke.” Nathan nags.
Duke uses the vile of blood around his neck, putting a drop on his skin. His eyes turn silver and he forces the door open.
In the main room of the police station, the paramedics work on Sam, giving her oxygen.
“Is she going to be okay?” Carson asks shook up.
“Yeah.” Noelle says determined, “If I have anything to do about it.”
As Audrey, Nathan, Daniel, James, and Dwight enter Carson stands still shook up he apologizes saying, “I’m sorry, we should have asked more questions of you.”
Audrey puts her hand on Carson’s, “Waller knew, he was just too stubborn to admit it.”
“The important thing is you did.” Dwight says encouraging.
The roof starts to cave in more. James says, “We have to get out of here.”

The paramedics carrying Sam on a stretcher exit the station with Audrey, Nathan, James, Duke, Dwight, and Carson behind them. They race outside just before the police station collapses in on itself.
Duke rushes to Sam's side. The paramedics get her into the ambulance. He sits beside Sam, holding her hand telling her, “Stay with me, Sam. Stay with me.”
The paramedics drives off.

Audrey looks at the station sad it’s gone.
“We’ll build it again. Just like it was.” Nathan says.
Audrey looking around for another member asks, “Where is Huck?”
“He ran off.” Carson coughing tells her, “Before Waller exploded.”
“So, you’re now the lead FBI agent on this case?” Dwight tells Carson.
Carson looks to Dwight respectfully, “You know this town. You’ve dealt with the troubles a long time. It’s your investigation Chief Henderson.”
“We need to find Huck.” Dwight insists heading towards his truck.
Audrey and Nathan head for Nathan’s truck. “He’ll head towards the Forest.” Audrey assumes, “He doesn’t want to hurt anyone.”
“Or he’ll go back to the church.” James suggests, heading towards a car.
“No” Daniel says standing where he is, “I know where he’ll go and how to find him.” Audrey, Dwight, Nathan, James, and Carson look to him simply staring.

Huck in the forest yells out, “Mavis! Mavis! I wish to speak with you!” as if he’s said it many times.

Act IV
Huck in the forest yells out, “Mavis! Mavis! I wish to speak with you!” as if he’s said it many times.

Duke enters the hospital with the paramedics, Noelle and her male partner wheeling in Sam unconscious on a stretcher. Noelle reports her injuries including fractures to her ribs. Duke turns to Noelle, “The sun’s about to set can you save her if she…” Duke asks Noelle.
Noelle shakes her head, “I don’t know.”

Outside the exploded station Daniel, Audrey, Dwight gather in a circle by Dwight’s truck with Carson interloping. James is off to the side on his cell phone. Nathan comes over with a map saying, “A topography map just like you requested.”
Daniel opens it up and lays it on the hood of the car, “You remember when Mavis kidnapped Audrey?” He begins to circle parts of the map.
“Mavis” Carson says shocked, “She was here in the station this afternoon looking for your daughter.”
          Audrey sighs annoyed.
Daniel puts his arm on Audrey calming her, “She’s with Eva she’ll be alright.”
“Why are you worried about your mother?” Carson asks.
Nathan turns to Carson, “She’s a witch. She caused the troubles.”
“A witch?” Carson says shocked.
“We’ll explain later.” Dwight says shushing Carson. Carson gets the hint as everyone looks to Daniel who has finished circling the map.
Daniel continues with his speech looking to all of them, “You remember how we found Audrey? The holy ground.”
“Yeah.” Dwight says curiously, “What does this have to do with Huck?”
“Huck was curious about it. I didn’t place it before we only met once and he was so shy then.”
“You think that Huck is working with Mavis?” Audrey says not believing it.
Daniel shakes his head, “Not working with.”
James comes over and says, “I got them on the line, you were right.”
“What do you want?” Vince’s grumpy voice bellows through the phone, “We’re a little busy now.”
James hands Daniel the phone as he says, “You’re following Huck aren’t you?” assuming the answer is yes.
Dave and Vince are in the forest keeping their distance from Huck as he calls out for Mavis. Mavis blurs up to him.
“She’s here.” Dave says to Vince, “Mavis is here.”
Audrey, Nathan, James, Daniel, Carson, and Dwight hear, “She’s here,” through the phone. They’re shocked listening intently. James quickly grabs Audrey’s phone and acknowledging it she nods in agreement.

In the forest Dave and Vince watch as Mavis steps up to Huck, “You wish to speak to me.”
“Yes, and your witches.” Huck demands.
Kat, Jeremy, and Zara appear in a blur.

In front of the station, “Why does he want to talk to Mavis?” Nathan asks Daniel.
“Audrey’s immune to the troubles like her mother but the other witches aren’t, and none of them are immune to being blow up.”
“He’s going to kill them.” Dwight realizes.
“He’s going to try.” Daniel says.

In the forest Mavis demands to know from Huck, “Why did you bring us here?”
As they all walk around him in a circle going counter clockwise Kat asks, “Is it to beg for your life back, to rid you of your trouble.” She says treating Huck like a helpless baby who needs some coddling.
“No, I know you can’t do that.” He says slowly.
They scowl at him as if their inability is a sore point for them.
Huck deliberately says, “I want you to get rid of the FBI.”

As Audrey, Nathan, Carson, Dwight, and James stand around Dwight’s truck listening in on the conversation through James’s speaker phone, Dwight orders Vince and Dave not to approach Mavis.
Overhearing Dwight in the forest, though Dave is carrying guns galore, both of them are clear, they do not want to approach Mavis, “We’re not stupid.” Vince declares.
Suddenly James declares, “Got it.” he tosses the phone to Audrey and turns to Dwight, “They’re not far.”
Audrey looking to the phone goes with Nathan to Nathan’s truck, Daniel is with them. James and Carson go with Dwight.
“How?” Carson demands to know, as they all get into Dwight’s truck.
“I have the login to their lookout account, tracked their cell” James says inside Dwight’s truck.
Carson sighs impressed.

In the forest with Huck, Kat leans in towards Huck asking him, “Why would we get rid of the FBI for you?”
Huck lunges for Kat, in a blur she rushes backing away into a rock wall.
“We know your trouble.” Zara says, “We’re not taking any chances.”
Kat leans up, “But that’s the real reason you’re here. To kill us.”
Mavis holds out her hand to kill him, he holds his neck as if an inviable hand is around him, “You were supposed to lead to the destruction of Haven.” She says disappointed. He falls onto his knees unable to breath. She touches him again making a shadow appear between him and her, he shutters at the touch.
Mavis turns away annoyed and Huck takes a deep breath of air.
“What is it?” Kat asks.
“He doesn’t have the anger in him.” Mavis says annoyed.
“We can change that.” Zara says approaching him she lifts him with her magic.

Act V
As Mavis and the witches are torturing Huck, lifting him with their magic and dropping him against the ground, he pleads for them to stop. But then Mavis lifts him again with her magic high into the air. Just then Nathan and Audrey show up, holding their hands together.
Audrey yells, “Stop this mother!”
The witches draw back in pain and drop Huck, unable to use their magic.
Huck beaten and breathing deeply crawls on his knees to get away.
Carson watches with James, Daniel, and Dwight from behind a rock in the distance on edge, shocked by what he sees. Dwight looks to James, “Get to Huck.”
James nods and goes around.
Zara kicks Huck with her boots.
Kat works through the pain to grab Huck with her magic around the neck.
“Let him go.” Nathan demands.
“You care so much for someone who just killed people and will kill anyone he touches.” Mavis questions.
“Those deaths are your doing not his.” Audrey declares, “You troubled him.”
From behind the rock, hiding with Dwight, Carson breathes deeply, “What now?”
“Wait.” Dwight says watching as Audrey and Nathan inch closer and closer to Mavis.
Mavis yells, “You would not join me.”
Audrey shakes her head, “And I will never join you.”
Mavis calmly, deliberately says, “So you are dead to me. I will destroy this town and everyone you love. Starting with Nathan, as he watches you die.” Turning to Kat she gives her a look as if saying do it.
Kat uses her magic to push Nathan away from Audrey. He goes flying, laying in the dirt. Quick to respond Audrey grabs Mavis. Since Audrey is wearing her ring Mavis begins to shake, electrocuted. Audrey steps between Kat and Nathan, “You’re magic doesn’t work on me.”
James from behind Zara, knocks Zara down, “Nor me.” He says.
Zara on the ground pleads, “James, don’t.”
Everyone standing still a gunshot rings out. Daniel behind a tree on the sideline shoots at Mavis. The bullet approaches her, aiming for her heart. But she puts up her hand and the bullet floats. She presses it back to him. Daniel jumps out of the way.
The witches leave in a blur.
Carson watches in shock.

At the edge of the forest Nathan, Audrey, Dwight, Daniel, James and Carson approach Dwight’s and Nathan’s trucks. Carson is in shock, “That’s Haven.” Dwight says, completing his explanation.
Vince says, “We could really use your discretion here.”
Dave adds, “Other people won’t understand.”
Carson nods, “Yeah.”
They wait eager to see what Carson will say as he’s still contemplating.
He sighs turning to them, “It’s people like you that made me want to be a part of the FBI, to do what you’ve done here. I’ll make sure the FBI leaves Haven alone.”
Dwight shakes his hand thanking him.
“You’re sure about him?” Vince questions.
Dwight nods, “Yeah.”
“You weren’t right last time.” Dave warns him.
James speaks to Huck a little away from the group. Carson turns to Audrey, Nathan, and Dwight, “It’s been quite a day.”
“This is pretty normal for us.” Audrey explains then rethinks that statement, “Aside from the police station getting blown up.”
“Shot up but I think blown up is a first.” Nathan reiterates.
James turns to the group, “I’ll walk back with Huck, to Audrey and Nathan’s so Danielle can heal him.” He puts his arm around Huck, who is grateful.
Audrey and Nathan nod.
“Meet us there, we need to talk after.” James says seriously.
Audrey, Nathan, Dwight, Daniel, Vince and Dave nod.
“I’ll head back to Boston.” Carson says.

That night at Audrey and Nathan’s James talks to the group about what Huck told him. “Huck’s trouble was supposed to turn Haven into a creator.” James reveals.
“Why didn’t it?” Daniel asks curiously.
“Apparently, Huck didn’t have enough anger in him.” James reveals. “Mavis won’t stop until this town is destroyed. She told Huck she doesn’t care how it’s done. I don’t think that Haven is safe for the troubled anymore.”
Dwight nods, “Yeah,” he says disappointed in that truth.

The next day Dwight has a press conference, Dave, Vince, Audrey, Daniel, Nathan, and James behind him. Dwight announces “Everyone here knows about the troubles. Haven as a town has dealt with them together. But it has come to our attention with recent events, that Haven is no longer safe for the troubled anymore. Mavis is intent on destroying the town. So I’ve advised the guard and members of the church to help everyone evacuate Haven.”

Carson stands in front of an office full of FBI agents questioning him, Carson reports, “Agent Waller’s death was due to his arrogance. His unwillingness to listen to the locals. Don’t do the same.”
“The situation in Haven, lead to his death and over the last year many more have died under suspicious circumstances. Why shouldn’t we intervene?”
Carson hesitates. With confidence he stands, “Yes, there are things that come from Haven Maine that we do not understand.”

In a cave Mavis slaughters a group of people, “Thank you for your faithfulness.” Mavis says, “My followers.”

Carson, sitting in front of the FBI agents continues, “But it’s not just the bad, but the good as well.” As he speaks a scene of Dwight, Daniel, Audrey, James, Nathan and many of the people Audrey and Nathan have helped over the years reveals the good as everyone works together to help the people load up and leave Haven. “The people, the good people there are braver and more capable that we can possibly imagine.” Carson says. As he stands in front of FBI agents Carson insists, “Let them handle things.”
