S6 E12 "The Power of the Barn" Haven Rewrites

S6 E12 “Power of the Barn” As the FBI are watching Haven. Mavis makes her attack so Audrey is forced to make an impossible choice.

Previously on Haven;
After the FBI came to Haven accusing members of terrorist activity Sam was hospitalized. Dwight advised evacuation of Haven. Many of the people that Audrey and Nathan have saved are helping with the evacuation. Meanwhile the FBI are concerned about the activity in Haven.
Teaser
In the FBI office building, Agent Carson in front of a committee of Agents, who tell him, “The town of Haven has undergone too many deaths for it to be such an innocent town.”
Carson pleads with the committee, “Haven is a town of special people, people who have dealt with tragedy and fight to protect their town from things the FBI couldn’t even dream of. They have been through too much for us to meddle.”
An older woman on the committee, sits up alarmed, “What kinds of things?” She asks.

In Haven, as the people are evacuating Mavis watches from a hill with her witches, “What are we going to do?” Zara asks not really concerned about the situation.
“Let them leave for now.” Mavis says, “Not all of them will.” Mavis says watching as Nathan and Audrey are helping a couple pack their car.
“I have the person you requested.” Kat says, dragging a middle aged woman who’s crying, whimpering. Kat throws the woman down at Mavis’s feet.
“Good.” Mavis smiles and looked to the woman, “You are going to do great things.” Mavis says reaching down she touches her and a black shadow appears between Mavis’s hand and the woman. The woman shivers and screams.
Suddenly a giant burst of wind travels through Haven, creating a sonic boom. It appears like a ripple in a pond, everyone in town is knocked off their feet even Audrey.

In the FBI office, the middle aged woman on the committee glancing at her phone says, “We’ve just gotten word that a sonic boom has rippled through Haven.”

Around Haven, where everyone is laying down, even Audrey, there is a bubble around the town.

Act I
Laying on the sidewalk Audrey wakes up, seeing Nathan on the ground she rushes to him to check if he’s alive. At her touch he wakes, “What happened?” He asks.
Looking around at the couple unconscious in their car, “I don’t know.” She says, “A trouble?”
Through Audrey’s walkie comes James’ voice, “There’s a barrier, there’s an invisible barrier at the edge of town.” James says standing on the one lane highway leading out of Haven, amid the cars, one sliced through the front, the others with unconscious drivers which use both lanes to exit out of Haven. He is just on the inside of Haven. He puts his hand against the barrier and meets resistance in the form of waves traveling through the air.
“Can you get through it?” Audrey asks through the walkie. But James is distracted as he sees military trucks approach the other side, “No, and we may have another problem. Hold on.”
A military man gets out of the truck asking politely, “Do you need assistance?” Referring to the accident. The driver of the wrecked car is beginning to wake.
“Thank you. I think we can handle this.” James says and walks towards the car.
As James walks away the military officer attempts to follow but is stopped by the barrier, “What is this?” He says anxious and pulls out his gun, “What are you doing?”
James holds up his hands and the military office shoots but the bullet bounces off and hits the officer in the neck.
The men the military vehicles jump out of the truck with their guns held high.
James speaks through his walkie, “Yeah, we’ve got another problem.”
Just then Mavis in a blur runs up to the driver and places her hand on him, a shadow appearing between her hand and him. He shivers and suddenly his hands are turning molten red. “Get out of the car.” James yells and seeing the man panic he ducks for cover.
Audrey and Nathan hear the explosion, “That’s where James is.” Audrey says scared for him.
Suddenly, in front of Audrey and Nathan, the witches run through the whole town at blurring speeds. They touch everyone they can, black shadows appear between their touch and the person. People’s troubles begin to go off; an earthquake shakes the town, snow covers a piece of grass near a whitehaired woman, and roots of trees begin to grow through the cement. Nathan heads towards one of the women that was touched.
“I didn’t mean to.” She says and the earth begins to shake again. Nathan reaches out and touches her. The shaking stops. But the frost on the grass continues to spread.
Audrey rushes over to the whitehaired woman, “You need to calm down.” She says, “You’re not as cold-hearted as you feel Mrs. Norich.” Audrey assures her.
The woman asks, “How did you know?”
“I’m a cop.” Audrey says, “It’s my job to know.”
As the woman takes a deep breath the grass suddenly turns back to normal.
Nathan and Audrey head over to each other, “Now about the trees, who is?” They look around and see that a middle-aged man is looking upset. “Him.” Audrey points out.
Nathan and Audrey race to get to him. Nathan puts his hands on the man’s cheeks healing him just as Audrey darts away from tree branches coming through the ground.
“We’ve got lava, lava on elm.” Daniel’s voice reverberates through the walkie. He walks down a street parallel, watching the lava flow and sees a kaleidoscope pattern, shapes blending into each other, “And a Kaleidoscope on Chestnut.” Daniel walks right through it. Breathing deeply as it disappears.
“This is going to be a long day.” Audrey says to Nathan. Nathan pants as he sees a boy begin to vibrate quickly. “Audrey.” He says and runs to the boy.

Days later at Nathan’s and Audrey’s; Dave, Duke, Vince, Dwight, Daniel, Audrey, and Nathan meet. They look haggard and exhausted. As James comes up Audrey hugs him, “Thank goodness you’re alright.” His eyebrows are a bit singed.
James reports to Dwight, “The Lava’s been diverted with the man who petrifies wood.”
“Marian’s heading over to the fire on Spruce.” Vince tells them.
“Good.” Dwight says, “And thank the guard for their help.”
Vince nods.
“The nightmare man is taken care of.” Duke says, “Not that any of us have slept for days.” He says as his hand shakes.
Audrey takes his hand grateful and sad for him. Blood stains on his clothes.
“This is war.” Daniel says insistent that everyone understand, “Mavis has declared war. We fight the battles we can.”
Dwight sighs, “The barrier was the beginning. We need to stop it.”
“The barrier is keeping the military out.” James says objecting to them trying to get it down.
Dwight nods, “I got a call from the justice department to stand down.”
“It’s not us.” Dave whines.
“I told them that, they don’t believe me, apparently one of the troubled can shoot anything at it.”
“He’s a cannon.” Nathan says nodding.
Nathan flashes back on Audrey yelling at a man, “You’re doing this.” She says as a park bench flies at the barrier followed by a car. Nothing gets through.
The military men are agitated try to fire a bazooka at Haven. Audrey and Nathan duck, but the men themselves are blown up.
“Those military men shouldn’t have acted the way they did.” Audrey insists, “Something is going on with them.”
“The barrier could have an effect on them.” Dave says with an idea. He looks through a book, “There’s a trouble that can actually create a comfort zone, a barrier that no one can cross. But…” Dave reads the last sentence from the book, “those on the outside feel all the anxiety the troubled person is trying to avoid.”
“The military need to stand back.” Vince urges Dwight to understand.
“You couldn’t get through it?” Dwight asks James.
James shakes his head saying no.
“That means Mavis can’t either.” Dwight emphasizes, “We can take the fight to her.
Just then a message comes in through Dwight’s walkie, it’s Jordan, “There’s a trouble at the hospital.”
Duke jumps saying, “Sam.”

At the hospital, Sam lays in her bed. There’s clamoring, a freak wind storm, lightening fries the electronics. Outside Jordan speaks into a Walkie, “We need Nathan, the whole hospital could go up.”
Duke, Nathan, Daniel, Dwight, Audrey, and James burst into the hospital. The head nurse announces they’ve begun evacuations if they could help.
In the stairwell, James, Daniel, and Audrey head to different floors. Duke heads to Sam. Nathan with Duke heads for the troubled girl.
Duke finds Sam limping towards Clara, the girl trapped inside the storm, making it. She calls for her, “Clara, you need to calm down!” Sam yells.
“If I can get to you I can stop this!” Nathan declares from the edge.
Sam upset says, “She can’t hear you.”
Duke lifting Sam says, “Let’s get you out of here.”
As Duke lifts Sam out of the hospital hallway Nathan tries to get to Clara but in the storm he’s having trouble breathing and collapses, gasping for breath.

Act II
Nathan fallen about to lose consciousness sees Jeremy, blurring around at witch speed. Jeremy grab him and takes him outside just before the hospital explodes. Outside Duke carries Sam who shouts, “Clara!” mourning her, she clutches Duke.
Audrey worried about Nathan looks around. Daniel and James see him on the ground. He coughs, upset he couldn’t get to her.
          “Jeremy saved me?” He questions.
Audrey doesn’t understand, “Why would he do that?”
Daniel looks up as if remembering but Nathan has trouble standing.
“Take him home.” Daniel insists, “Both of you need rest.”
          Audrey is reluctant.
“Kiss your daughter for me.” Daniel asks.
Audrey nods, giving in as Nathan hangs on her unable to stand on his own.
A nurse eagerly says, “We need help.” Daniel goes to help.
Duke helps Sam walk, as she cringes holding her broken ribs.
Susie, with her nurse’s outfit on yells, “We’ll set up a temporary hospital in the high school gymnasium.”

In Nathan and Audrey’s place, Audrey and Nathan are sleeping. At the sounds of someone entering the house Audrey awakens. She goes into the kitchen with her gun. It’s Daniel and James. Sighing in relief she lowers her gun, “You scared me.” She says.
James helps himself to the fridge.
“I wanted to see if you were alright?” Daniel says. James gulps from the milk container as Daniel asks, “Are you okay?”
Audrey sighs, “Relatively, we can’t go on like this forever.”
Daniel takes her in his arms, “Audrey I know you’re worried about Nathan.”
Crying Audrey wines, “He could die curing so many people. Mother knows he can. That’s why Jeremy saved him, isn’t it? So I watch him die slowly.” She looks up to her father.
“Probably.” Daniel says.
James shoving food into his mouth says, “Tell her what you told me?”
Audrey looks to him, “It’s possible history is repeating itself.” Daniel reveals.
Audrey looks to him curiously, “What do you mean?”
Daniel starts slowly, “Last time, when we defeated Mavis Jeremy’s ancestor helped us.”
Daniel flashes back to creeping around the cave where they found Mavis. He finds a map of sacred sites. And is face to face with the male witch from his time.
“I thought you might come here.” The male witch says.
“If you want to kill me just kill me.” Daniel says.
“I want you to kill Mavis and I’m going to help you.”
Daniel continues narrating, “He didn’t want to take orders anymore.”
Interrupting Audrey says, “Jeremy has no power without her. She’s proven that to him when he attempted his coup last year. He’s not helping us.” Audrey argues.
“We need to kill Mavis.” James says wiping his mouth with his sleeve.
Audrey’s uncomfortable at that suggestion.
“You know we need to kill her.” Daniel says, “I need you Audrey, you and James are the only ones immune to her magic.”
Audrey sighs upset. “How did that work out last time?” and walks out of the room angrily.
Daniel sighs yelling. “We need a plan Audrey.”

“We do need a plan.” Login says at his house in front of Church followers, “But what can we do? We can’t kill the witches. Driscals followers are restless and as a Driscal I need to give them something to do. Sam put me in charge of that.”
A young girl says, “Sam’s in the temporary hospital we should bring her food.”
They look to her annoyed.
“What?” she says, “I was thinking outside of the box.”
The Mrs. Braddock an old woman with influence comes out of the shadows and says, “I’ve got an idea.”

Dwight, enters the high school gym where beds have been set up for the temporary hospital. Nikki is at a table where two large men are in line, “You two, get all the medical supplies you can from people’s houses.”
Dwight goes up to his table. “Thanks Nikki.” Dwight says.
“I wouldn’t be alive if Audrey hadn’t helped me.” Nikkie says, “The Guard have handled two more troubles in the east end apartments. It seems your witches might be getting tired.”
“Good, so are we.” Dwight sighs and looks to Duke who is right beside him sitting by Sam’s bed. On his knees Duke’s head rests on Sam’s bed while she sleeps.
Just then Dwight sees Susie come up to the nurses’ station looking at their supplies, they are running low and she looks concerned.
Dwight goes to her, “How are you doing?”
“Okay, considering.” Susie responds. She looks to him lovingly, “Thank you for checking up on me.
“You let me know the minute something out of the ordinary happens” Dwight tells her concerned.
Susie nods. As Dwight turns to leave she grabs his hand, “Be careful.” She tells him. And gives him a peck kiss on the lips.

As Niki continues giving out orders Sam awakens and sees Duke’s head on her bed. Putting her hand on his head he awakens startled.
He looks up to her sadness in his eyes.
“Duke.” Sam pleads worried about him, “You’re exhausted.”
“I’m okay.” He shakes, “I killed someone.”
“The nightmare trouble.” She nods understanding.
He shivers with regret.
“Susie told me.” Sam says, “Dwight ordered it. He needed to be stopped.” Sam places her hand on Duke’s in comfort and nodding Duke clutches it.
Just then Ben arrives he approaches Sam and Duke, “The church group is up to something…” Sam and Duke look on curious, Ben continues, “I saw them gathering at the Gull.”
Duke sighs annoyed, “I bolted that place locked, if they broke my door.” He kisses Sam on the head and rushes out.
“Ben can you go…” Sam doesn’t even have to complete her plea before Ben follows Duke out.

At the FBI offices, the middle aged woman sitting on the committee stands over a speaker phone listening to a Colonel, “I’m telling you they have dangerous equipment they are using against my men.” He says.
Colonel talks from near the barrier just outside of Haven, where the car sits in the middle of the road wrecked. He continues, “We need to drop a bomb on this entire town. There’s no way that there are any innocents in there.”
Carson running down the hall of the FBI offices holds his cell to his ear as Dwight urges him, “You have to get the military men away from the barrier. It’s making them paranoid.”
Carson walks through the door of the office of the woman as she speaks towards the speaker phone, “It’s your military opinion we send bombs to Haven Maine?”
Carson shocked asks “Colonel are you near the barrier?” through his phone an electronic voice says, “If you wish to hear this message again.” He hangs up.
“I’m right at the edge of the barrier.” The Colonel responds, “I see hundreds of killers inside, with axes. They’re chopping each other to bits.” He says and does see them, but they are figments of his imagination.
“You need to get away from it.” Carson declares ardently.
Turning to Carson the woman argues, “You do not give my men orders. Who let you in here?” She asks.
“It’s affecting them.” Carson yells, “Mentally. They’re going to have to get away anyway if you intend to send an air-strike.” He reminds her. “Don’t.” he pleads, “There are good people in there, families.”
“I trust Colonel Route.” The woman declares and yells to her assistant just outside the door, “Get me on the phone with the president.”

At the Gull, the door is wide open, broken into. Inside, Duke and Ben hide by the door to the kitchen. There’s clanking coming from inside. Duke and Ben have guns.
“They better not be messing with my Kitchen.” Duke gripes. Ben follows Duke’s leads when they burst inside with guns blazing. But when they face what’s inside they stare in complete shock.

Act III
Duke and Ben stand with Guns pointed at the Church group as they stand in the kitchen of the Gull, cooking.
Duke and Ben lowers their guns as Duke asks in disbelief, “You’re cooking?”
Suddenly his phone rings, “What?” He says annoyed, “No. Yes, I’m in Haven. You can’t do that.” Duke argues and leaves.

Back at the Harold Audrey, Nathan, Daniel, Duke, James, Dave, Vince, and Dwight, are gathered at the Harold. Audrey frustrated and upset with Daniel.
“Nathan and I handled Mrs. Ratcliff and the beaver infestation.” Audrey says.
“Nathan helped with the bloody Mary trouble.” James reveals cringing.
Dwight ignores them sighing he reveals, “I called you here because the FBI are going to air-strike Haven.”
Audrey shakes her head, “No, the FBI never would.” She grows more frustrated.
“Agent Audrey called me. They find us a threat.” Duke reveals, “Something they can’t understand.”
James steps up asking “Won’t the barrier protect us?”
“It might protect the town, but what about the jet?” Vince argues, “And the towns around Haven?”
“It’s over Agent Parker’s head.” Duke declares upset. “Thought you should all know.”
“What if Mavis takes the barrier down just as the bombs drop?” Daniel suggests.
          “How?” James asks.
“Kill the troubled person.” Daniel says callously.
Audrey is getting angrier by the second, shaking her head and sighing upset.
“We need to get him.” Nathan insists.
“Her.” Vince interrupts, “The guard has figured out it is Harriet Russ.”
“With the guard’s helps we’ve calculated where she is.” Dave says putting out a map, “based on the shape of the barrier around Haven.” Dave explains. “She’s in the center of Haven, here.” He says pointing to the map.
“Then let’s go get her.” James says.
“It’s not that simple. The barrier has moved occasionally, slightly.” Vince reveals, “When she does. Kirk witnessed one of his men sliced through when it did.”
“We need to get the people away from the barrier.” Dwight acknowledges.
“We need to attack Mavis now.” Daniel urges.
Dwight and the others nod. Vince relays, “We’ll get the guard together.”
Audrey is not pleased. But before she has the chance to object everyone’s cell phone goes off. Answering it all the people can hear is, “Help me. Help me.”
“Who are you where are you?” Nathan asks, but the “help me” just continues.
Dwight looks to the group and orders “find out who that is from?”
“I’ll get Donald Poe on it. He’s a cell phone expert.” Vince says sitting down at his computer.
Audrey opening the Harold’s front door and notices that everyone in the street is also hearing the same thing from their phones.
She walks outside down the street determined. Nathan seeing her. He follows and asks, “Audrey what are you doing?”
          Everyone inside looks to Audrey.
Audrey turns back to Dwight, “Stop that airstrike find anyone from Haven who works for the FBI, advertise our situation on utube I don’t care just stop it.”
“What are you going to do?” Nathan demands to know.
“Ending this.” Audrey says and walks towards the forest.
Daniel, James, Nathan, Duke and Dave follow Audrey, But Dwight and Vince give her some space.
Grabbing her Daniel declares, “Audrey you can’t do this? You can’t go up against your mother. Not alone. We plan this together.”
Audrey turns back to Daniel, “Tell them, tell them what happened last time.” She exclaims angrily, “Tell them about the people that died, the mass grave.”
Daniel flashes back on a mass grave of the 1760s. As dozens of people are rolled in.
“We have to go up against her Daniel.” Dave explains, “Tell us what happened?”
Daniel flashes back to people dead, bodies splayed open on the ground, hanging on trees. Narrating he says, “Jeremy’s ancestor betrayed her. Took the followers away from protecting her.”
The male witch with his followers stands on a hill top, overlooking the forest where Mavis is.
“I was late.” Daniel narrates as his 1760s self is down in the forest watching from a distance as Norman, Jack, and Anne, struggle to hold Mavis down so she cannot use her hands.
Mavis presses them off her. Tried and weary she approaches them tipsy on her feet holding out her hand.
Weary of Mavis’ hand they stand still, Jack protecting Anne. Daniel catches up to them and watches.
“You have all made a big mistake.” Mavis declares, “I will return. And when I do there will be no mercy for any of you.”
As Daniel moves to attack her, Mavis utters lines of a spell in a foreign language. She disappears and declares, “I will be watching you.” cackling.
In the present Audrey is angry, “And you didn’t even kill her, she came back causing all of this mess, which I have been cleaning up my entire life.”
“I never wanted you to have to.” Daniel yells grieved.
“Well I have to.” Audrey says and continues walking towards the forest.
          Nathan pleads with her, “Audrey-“
But Audrey cuts him off, “You can come with me but don’t stop me.”
“I’ll contact the FBI again.” Duke declares and leaves her be.
“I’ll help you. Maybe someone from Haven’s past can help.” Dave says slipping away.

Nathan, James, and Daniel follow Audrey into the forest, “Audrey what are you going to do?” Nathan asks trying to be empathetic. He grabs her hand and doesn’t let her pull it away as he says, “I’m your partner, I’m with you whatever it is.”
She pauses and looks to him frustrated a tear streams down her face, “You’re going to hate me.”
He shakes his head looking her right in the eyes, “No. Never.” He inches ahead, his hand still clutching hers he tells her pushing head, “Let’s go.”
“It’s this way.” She says inches them towards the left.
James and Daniel wearily follow. Looking to each other worried.

Duke, Dwight, Dave, and Vince, are all on their phones in the Harold. Duke is yelling at his FBI contact saying “You can’t do this. Haven has families, there are people here who you’ll drop that bomb on. Dave is trying to talk to a governor and not getting through his secretary. Dwight is talking to the FBI offices in Boston and also not getting through, and Vince is on the phone with Kirk saying, “We need to get men together to move Harriot. Find those who’d be willing to go against Mavis.”

In a forest, Audrey walks with Nathan as he holds her hand. They walk through the forest towards a field. James and Daniel follow behind.
Looking up to Audrey James asks, “What happened after? After Mavis was gone? When did the barn appear?”
Audrey sighs, “That’s a fitting question.” She says and flashes back Audrey narrates as she flashes back to 1760s Haven. “The people expected the troubles to end when she was gone, but they didn’t. So they didn’t like us very much.”
Men gather around Daniel house ready to burn it down, “Daniel!” a leader yells angrily, “Bring her out here Daniel!” Concerned about the crowd Daniel grabs pre-teen Audrey and smuggles her down to the seller and out a crawl space to the forest just as the men throw torches and start to burn the house down.
“We had to leave Haven.” Audrey narrates in the present.
Looking around, “Audrey.” Daniel declares, “Angel.” He realizes where she is. Looking to each other they flash back to 1760s. Pre-teen Audrey and Daniel are running in the forest. Pre-teen Audrey asks, “Why do they want to hurt us?”
“They don’t trust us anymore, Angel.” Daniel says, looking around he asks, “Where are you Norman?” He then sees Norman on the ground ahead of them. He’s bleeding to death. Daniel goes to him upset, “Norman.”
Norman looks up to Daniel saying, “Forgive them Daniel, they’re just scared the troubles aren’t gone.” He hands Daniel a pouch, jingling with coins. “Protect her.” Norman pleads, clutching Daniel leaving bloody handprints on Daniel’s collar, “She’s important.” He says with his dying breath.
Shaken Daniel takes Pre-teen Audrey’s hand, and pulls her through the forest. Audrey looks to Norman heartbroken resistant to run. He pleads with her, “Angel, we have to run.”
Heartbroken Pre-teen Audrey whines, “We can’t just leave the troubled. And what about mother, trapped.” She pulls her hand from her father’s refusing to go. She backs away as Daniel approaches her ready to pick her up and carry her to move.
Just then Agent Howard/Michael, a bald black man comes out of the forest, “You can help them young one.”
Audrey, back in the present says, “It all happened here.” Daniel, and Audrey holding Nathans hand with James behind them walk from the forest into a field. As they approach Audrey looks to the center of the field, she recalls all the times she’s seen the barn as Helen, Sarah, Lucy. Michael/Audrey’s Agent Howard is always there.
It is just then that Michael appears from behind the trees, calmly he speaks, at complete peace, “You are looking for me?” He asks rhetorically, knowing it’s true.
Daniel approaches him angrily, “You promised that Audrey would get rid of the troubles.”
“The end is not here yet.” Michael says with complete calm in his voice.
“The end will mean the destruction of Haven.” James says angrily.
“Not necessarily.” Michael says walking around he looks to Audrey her father next to her, “It depends what you do.” Looking to Audrey he can tell and explains, “You want to go back into the barn.”
Nathan sighs grievous of the idea and clutches her hand tighter.
Audrey looks pensive and Daniel angrily yells. “No, she spent 200 years in that barn-”
Audrey puts her hand on her father’s arm to calm him. She looks to Michael, “Help us.”
Michael looks to her pensive. He walks around observing her, “You can return to the barn. If you wish it.”
“No” Daniel says apposed, “You promised she would have her life.”
Turning to Daniel, Michael says, “It is Audrey’s choice.” He then looks to Audrey, “But the barn may not work this time.”
“What do you mean?” James asks.
“It may not rid Haven of the troubles?” Nathan asks curiously.
Audrey looks to Michael curiously.
Michael responds, “Do you remember what I asked of you before you entered the barn?”
Audrey flashes back to 1760s when Michael come through the forest saying, “You can help them young one. You can put an end to the troubles.”
Daniel watches in shock as if he recognizes Michael and trusts him but does not know why. Michael approaches Pre-teen Audrey. He leans down to her and asks with great compassion, “Do you love your mother?”
Pre-teen Audrey shakes her head swiftly, “I know I shouldn’t. I don’t like that she hurts people. I want her to stop.”
“You want to help those she hurts?” He asks.
As Pre-Teen Audrey answers “Yes,” Daniel leans down with his daughter, behind her he holds her close not sure what to make of Michael, simply watching him in awe.
“Would you give your life to help?” Michael asks.
Daniel shakes his head, “No.” forbidding it.
Audrey nods, “Yes.” Committed to it.
Michael stands up tall, happily, “Then you will receive your life and you will put an end to the troubles. Follow me.” Agent Howard/Michael says and walks into the trees.
In the present Audrey, as an adult looks to Michael, “You asked if I would be willing to give my life for them. I will.” Audrey says stepping up to volunteer.
Michael shakes his head, “No. What did I ask before that?”
“If I cared about the people. You know I still do.” Audrey says.
“Love for the people fuels the barn.” James says as if it’s common knowledge yet Michael needs to be reminded.
“No, you are incorrect.” Michael says, “Love for the people recharges her with love but it is not her love for them that fuels the barn.”
Audrey with realization says, “It is my love of my mother.”
Michael smiles, “Yes.” He says pleased she arrived at the correct answer and then questioning he asks, “Do you still love your mother Audrey?”
Daniel, James, and Nathan stand in shock, especially Daniel.

Act IV
Audrey with Nathan, James, and Daniel behind her walks into the Harold as Dave, Vince, Dwight, and Duke are on the phone arguing to stop the air strike. Vince on hold looks to Audrey, “I’ve got some teenagers making a video. And Kirk’s getting guardsmen together to go get Harriot.”
Audrey nods, “We have a plan.” She tells everyone. They finish yelling at their people, pleading to get them to stop the airstrike and look to Audrey. Audrey looks melancholy, Nathan, James and Daniel even more so keeping their distance from her knowing she’s pissed. She continues, “I can call back the barn.”
“That will end the troubles.” Vince says exhilarated.
“Is it what you want to do?” Duke asks.
Audrey smiles at Duke and his care for her. She nods, “Yes. It will stops the troubles and strip Mavis of her magic.”
At this Vince, Dave, Dwight, and Duke are surprised.
Nathan adds, “That’s how the barn works, Agent Howard told us, it prevents any of Mavis’s magic from working, troubles or powers.”
Audrey goes on saying, “You can capture her. But only capture her.” She looks to her father, Daniel, knowing he is the one who wants to kill her.
“We can arrange that, with the element of surprise.” Dwight offers reluctantly as if he’s still back in the rangers protecting people who aren’t worth protecting.
Daniel sighs a heavy sigh, not in agreement with this plan, “If you wanted to leave in the barn, it would be here already. It responds to you being ready.”
Audrey nods standing confident of her choice she says, “We need to rescue Harriot first.”
“I’ll call Kirk see if he’s found a team.” Dave says.
“What about the air-strike?” Duke questions, ‘With the troubles gone the barrier will be gone as well.”
Audrey sighs, “It will take days to plan an airstrike on a civilian target. They’ll need approval from the president. Once the barrier is down, the paranoia will go away. Haven will be safe.”
Vince assures her, “We’ll talk to all our contacts to make sure. Command the guard how you need to. Kirk is expecting you.”
Audrey placing her hand on Vince’s shoulder says, “Thank you.”
Nathan leaves the meeting quickly. Audrey goes after him, “Nathan…” She starts to cry, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m going to get Danielle.” Nathan says turning to her, “I’m assuming I’m not allowed on this mission. You and James can go. Mother and son makes for a strong love bond.”
“I didn’t want to leave the three of you.” Audrey pleads with him to understand.
Nathan looks to her, “You won’t.” he says stepping up close to her he puts his hand to her cheek, “Danielle and I are going with you.”
Audrey shakes her head in objection.
“You’ll need us when the barn is forced to return and the troubles return with it. We can teach her in the barn to deal with the troubles, using our memories. Like Daniel taught you.” Nathan insists.
“This was my father’s idea. I never told you that he trained me in the barn, using his memories.” Audrey says knowing it’s true.
“When you refuse to talk to us, we talk to each other.” Nathan says chuckling.
Audrey looking down ashamed pleads with him, “Nathan, I’m afraid.”
          “Afraid of what?” Nathan asks.
“That I don’t love her. After everything she’s done….” Audrey shakes afraid it won’t work, that she won’t be able to do what needs to be done, what’s their only hope.
Nathan takes her hand, he has faith in her. “Remember when you first came to Haven. You dreamed your mother would come to the orphanage not just to find you but take all the children home in a big bus.”
Audrey nods, saddened because the truth is far from that. “That was Audrey’s desire. Her memories.”
“Maybe.” Nathan says, “But I think that Audrey’s dream isn’t that far from yours. You want a mother to care for others the way you do. You still have faith that she can. Only love makes that kind of faith possible.”
“I’ve tried to kill her so many times. Just a few days ago.” Audrey argues wondering if she really loves her mother. Tears stream down her cheeks.
“You knew none of that would work. You were never surprised when it didn’t.” Nathan argues. He hugs her and holds her.

Inside the Harold as Dwight holds his cell up to his ear, on hold Daniel looking to see Audrey and Nathan talking outside looks to Dwight and whispers, “You know we can’t let her live, Mavis.” He says to Dwight.
Dwight sighs but nods to Daniel.
          Daniel whispers, “Audrey can’t know.”
          “Know what?” James asks.
Both Dwight and Daniel are hesitant.
“Killing Mavis, when Audrey leaves.” Vince says as he holds a phone to his ear.
Dave adds, “We’re old not deaf.” He says to them and continues to talk to someone on the other end of his line asking for Franklin.
          “And we’re in.” Vince says.
          “As am I.” James agrees.
“Me too.” Duke says reluctantly but angrily he says, “She almost killed my wife.”
Daniel instructs them, “Audrey and Nathan can’t know.”

Audrey in a house orders the men with Kirk and James, who are all suited up in combat gear to be prepared for anything. She looks to Matthew, the guy who can walk through walls, “Graciously Matthew has agreed to go with us. He’ll get her and get her through with his ability to walk through walls. He can bring her through too. So the attack is just a diversion. Make it look real but pull out when we’re done. James and I will be there to weaken their magic. We want to minimize life lost here.” Audrey declares. James beside her in full gear. She turns to Kirk, “Kirk, lead the way, it’s your team.” Audrey fusses with her ring, making sure it’s still on.

They bust through a house, seeing a trip wire Audrey stops the group with a hand signal.
Kirk turns to another guy who puts his hand against the wall and shorts out the power, so the trip wire and everything is dark. The sun from the windows still shines through.
Each witch in a different room seeing the power die stands alert but begin to sweat feeling James and Audrey’s love-bond cause them pain.
“They’re here.” Mavis says expecting them.
From the entrance Kirk gives the men a signal and they all fan out breaking through doors. Audrey among them. From the three different areas, the witches open their doors and throw the men with the magic in their hands across the room. Kirk and a few of his men duck and start to shoot. Audrey stands firm and shoots at Zara in front of her. The witches hold the bullets mid-air. “Basement!” Audrey yells and outside Matthew waiting with Nathan hears and runs inside.
Matthew runs inside and down into the basement, through the walls. He grabs Harriot, chained to a bed he removes the chain with his ability to manipulate matter and pulls her through a wall.
Upstairs in the main house the witches holding onto the bullets that have been shot at them pushes them back towards the men. Some men fall down, “Dorian and Russo are down.” Audrey says just as she’s shot in the chest.
Act V
Audrey groggily grabs her chest, where her vest protects her. Through her ear piece she overhears Nathan tell them over the comms that they have Harriot. She orders the men to get Russo and Dorian out of there. The men throw grenades, flash bombs and get the men out while the witches are disoriented.
The guard men move Harriot in a truck to a secure place. Audrey and James jump into another truck where Nathan takes off. “We’re out.” Audrey says through her walkie.
Inside the Harold, Dave, Dwight, Vince, Duke, and Daniel overhear. Daniel carrying baby Danielle in a carrier goes outside. The others follow.
The barrier around Haven begins to move dramatically as the truck with Harriot in it moves and the military standing outside are surprised, “Sir.” A solider says looking to his commanding officer as the barrier moves yards away from them.
The officer regaining his composure, sweat on his forehead realizes that they were under some sort of affect. No longer near the barrier he looks to the barrier yards away and sees fields of no one ahead, “Where are the people?” The officer asks the young officer. He has no answer for him.
Daniel, Dwight, Dave and Vince standing outside the Harold can see that barrier is holding, “The barrier is holding.” Daniel says as if he was holding his breath.
“Was that a concern?” Vince asks annoyed.
“She might feel safe now.” Daniel says worried.
Dave shutters afraid and turns to Vince, “We have to stop this air strike.”
Vince nods, “I couldn’t agree more but how?”
Suddenly Jordon calls in on the walkie’s, heard through Daniel and Dwight’s walkies. "The barn it’s back.” She says as she stands in the field where the barn normally is. It is before her in all its glory.

Audrey with Nathan also hears it through her walkie. Nathan looks to her and she nods.
James is the one to speak, “You’ll get Danielle first.” He says as if questioning it.
Nathan nods and drives up to the Harold, where Daniel, James, Duke, Dwight, Vince, and Dave stand. Daniel, James, Dave, Vince, and Dwight walk toward them. Daniel carrying the baby carrier.
Audrey hugs her father and he tells her he’ll go with her to say a proper goodbye. She hugs Duke telling him “Thank you for being a good friend. Thank Sam for me too.”
Duke promises he will.
Turning to Dave and Vince she’s the saddest of all knowing she probably won’t see them again, “Thank you for everything as Sarah, Lucy and…” she says choked-up.
They nod to her saying “it was a pleasure to do it.” And tell Nathan, “Take care of her.”
Nathan nods, of course he will.
Audrey asks about the air strike with Dwight.
He tells her, “We got it.”
She turns to James, “You can come with us.”
James eager to say a proper goodbye says, “I can’t. I can’t.” He turns away and walks back into the Harold.
Audrey is hurt but Daniel says, “He’ll be okay.”
“We’ll take care of him.” Dwight says and goes after him.
Daniel looks to Audrey and taking the carrier puts Danielle properly in the car. Audrey looks back and finally follows after Daniel and Nathan, as they wait for her.
Duke, Vince, and Dave wave goodbye to them as Daniel pulls away.

At the back of the Harold, Dwight, James and Duke (just arriving) jump into trucks with Kirk and guard members, “Mavis hasn’t left the house.” Kirk says. “We’ll cut her off there.”

Daniel, with Audrey and Nathan, baby Danielle in the back pulls up to the forest edge. Everyone gets out, Audrey has baby Danielle in her carrier. As they walk through the forest towards the barn Audrey is concerned. Daniel leading, Audrey purposely falls behind and whispers to Nathan, “Do you think it’s odd, James’ reaction?”
“He’s upset. He’s alone now.” Nathan acknowledges.
“It just doesn’t feel right. My dad agreeing so easily and James.” Audrey wonders.

As Dwight, Kirk, Duke, James and guard members drive up in two trucks towards the house, Nathan and Audrey walk through the forest to the barn in the field with Jordan.

Dave with Vince outside the Harold says, “She’s ending up in the barn after all.” Saddened.
Just then Dave and Vince witness cars, a line of them going by main-street. Looking at the drivers they are shocked, “The church group.” Dave says frightened.
“What are they doing?” Vince asks eagerly and hurries to get in his car.

Walking through the forest Audrey whispers to Nathan, “I think he’s going to kill her. I think that’s why James was acting so weird.”
Nathan responds to Audrey’s worry, “If you’re so worried about it, why don’t you confront him.”

Dave and Vince follow the string of cars to the gymnasium, where the temporary hospital is. People are getting out of the cars, pulling out trays, pots, tables.
“What are they up to?” Vince asks.
Dave and Vince head inside and find the church group is setting up tables and chairs, and placing dishes of food out. Mrs. Braddock welcomes everyone to eat. Sam sits up impressed.
But the people are hesitant.

As Audrey, Nathan, and Daniel come to the field where the bran is, Audrey approaches her father. Jordan standing there waiting for them. She walks up to her father and yells, “You’re going to kill her aren’t you? When I’m gone. You’re going to kill my mother.”
Daniel stares at her and from his look she knows it’s true. “How did you find out?” He asks.
Disappointed Audrey says, “You just told me.”
“Audrey,” Daniel pleads, “She’s dangerous. Her mortality was given to her by Melinda not her own magic. She’ll live forever.”
“Then you have plenty of time to rehabilitate her!” Audrey yells.
Jordan notices that the barn begins to flicker in and out and yells, “Guys.”
Daniel takes Audrey’s shoulders in his hands, “Some people can’t be saved Angel. Some people are just lost.”
“Have you ever tried?” Audrey yells angrily, “Everything she’s been through, her uncle molesting her, her family not caring have you ever tried to love her. Maybe that’s all she needs! For someone to love her. For you to love her! You’re her husband!”
“And she was a hellish wife!” Daniel yells back angrily.
“You think she was any good as a mother! She tortured me! And yet I still managed to love her! No one! No one deserves love but we give it because we all need it! Because we have faith things can be better! They are better with it!” Audrey yells pointing to the town.
As the barn continues to flicker in and out, more out than in Daniel yells, “Angel!” pleading, “You have to go.”
The barn flickers out and doesn’t come back, “No.” Audrey says determined and calm, “I’m not going anywhere. I won’t let you kill her.”

Just then Dwight driving in one truck and Duke in the other overhears through a walkie, “She’s not going in. She’s not going in.” from one of Kirk’s men.
Kirk turns to Dwight suggesting, “She’s going to wait until after the air-strike?”
Through the walkie the man reports, “The barn is gone but Audrey is still here.”
Dwight simply looks confused.
“We have to head back,” Duke says.

Inside the high school gym people are eating as church people are helping the troubled and non-troubled alike. Suddenly a giant sonic boom echoes through the area, rippling from the school knocking everyone outside the area out including the men in the trucks (Dwight, James, Duke, Kirk, and his men) Jordon, Audrey, Nathan, Daniel, and baby Danielle.
The trucks James, Dwight, Kirk and Duke are in, crash into a tree, everyone passed out.
A jet flies over Haven saying, “I’m at the target.”
