S5 E12 “the Last
Withdrawal” As the witches plan to target Duke, James and Daniel investigate a
mysterious bank robbery and Audrey and Nathan try to stop a paralyzing trouble
before people start dying.
Previously on
Haven/Haven Rewrite;
Terrible afflictions affect a little town in Maine called Haven. Detective Audrey Parker and her husband Nathan stop these troubles. Audrey is immune and Nathan can cure them.
Duke was told, by a woman who predicts
deaths, that he would be killed by a man with a four person tattoo.
Sam’s sister Kat is a witch, who
troubles people.
Sam’s told Duke her husband, who lied about
stopping smuggling since he's smuggling won’t
have children with him. Duke wants kids so offers to stop smuggling.
Nathan has just been cured of his trouble--the inability to feel--using his own ability to heal the troubles.
Duke affected by a trouble killed
seven men absorbing their blood, since that's his trouble.

INT. BANK VAULT- NIGHT
Late at night a man with a mask on walks into a
bank, as if in a trance, he grabs a pile of money and leaves. Underneath his
sleeve there’s a tattoo of a Lily on his wrist.
INT. POLICE STATION – CHIEF’S
OFFICE - DAY
In the police station Dwight shows James and
Daniel the footage of the bank robber, “Bank robbery isn’t really my field.”
Daniel says.
Dwight asks them to continue watching, “The
man, stepped out with one bag, but the whole vault is empty.”
James looks to Daniel, “Witches?”
Daniel sighs nodding
James continues, “We did just freeze all their
assets.”
Daniel wonders aloud, “What are you up to Mavis?”
INT. BRICK BUILDING -
DAY
Kat and Zara count the money in a brick
building.
Jeremy brings more in bundles as Mavis enters.
She sees the money and asks, “What are you
doing?”
Kat responds, “We needed money and now we have
lots of it.” She says holding the money close to her.
Mavis grabs a bundle, “You silly girls. This”
she says waving the bundle in the air, “will only lead them to us.”
Zara argues, “We need it.”
Mavis says dogmatically, “We need nothing.” And
lets it go as if there’s nothing more to say. She gets to business, “My runes
tell me that Duke should be vulnerable soon.”
BEACH - DAY
At the beach Audrey and Sam walk from the
concession stand, food in their hand, in their swim suits, as many people are
around.
“This was a good idea.” Sam says looking to
Duke and Nathan who stand over 100 feet away by the towels at the beach a
couple feet apart from each other.
BY THE TOWELS
Nathan and Duke smile and wave to the girls.
Duke says, “Act like we’re having a good time or I’ll never hear the end of
it.”
ON THE WAY BACK FROM
CONSESSION
Sam with Audrey waves back saying, “I think
this was good for Duke.”
Audrey says, “They’re pretending to have a good
time.”
Sam sighs, “Yeah, still it got him to try to have
fun. It’s not normal for Duke to be all business all the time.” She shivers.
Audrey looks to Sam, “It’s been a couple months
since the forest. It wasn’t his fault.”
Sam looks to Audrey, “Still, the only thing he
seems to be interested in is me.”
Audrey chuckles, “Well that can’t be a bad
thing, entirely.”
Sam smiling, head in the clouds says, “No, not
entirely.” Sam stops walking, forcing Audrey to hold back. Her mood turns
tense. Audrey turns to her concerned, “He wants to have a baby.”
Audrey looks to her surprised, “Really?”
Sam looking at the ground says, “I just don’t
know if I’m ready.”
Audrey nods, “That’s certainly something that you
should talk about.”
Sam looks over and asks, “Have you and Nathan
talked about it?”
Audrey huffs, “When would we?”
Audrey’s stomach growls.
Sam smiles, “Let’s go eat.” She continues
walking and asks, “How’s Nathan doing, now that he can feel?”
“Having a ball.” Audrey says smiling.
BY THE TOWELS
Nathan tries to hide his smile as he feels his
feet in the sand. He lifts his head towards the sun, “Isn’t the sun great.” He
says.
Duke annoyed by Nathan’s cheeriness says,
“Yeah, great.” Sarcastically. Duke flashes back;
FOREST (FLASHBACK,
MORNING)
He slashing at men, blood everywhere.
BEACH
At the beach Duke says, “I’m going to go for a
run.” He begins to jog away from Nathan.
Sam with Audrey watches, her face confused,
wondering what’s going on.
Duke passes by people, bumping into them. He’s
annoyed with every person that bumps into him. Pressing his hand against them
to gets through.
Audrey with Sam hands Sam the food and says,
“Let me talk to him.” Audrey runs over to Duke.
Audrey running over towards Duke calls out,
“Duke, Duke!” Duke ignores her, she keeps chasing him, “Come on Duke it’s me.
Talk to me.”
Duke turns back to her, “What good would that
do? Sam keeps begging me to talk to her. The only way I can do to to shut up
is have sex with her.”
Audrey chuckles, “She said you want to have a
child.”
Duke nods smiling, “Yeah, anyone with her
spirit and my charm, that’s got to be a good mix.”
At the beach towels, Sam hands Nathan the food.
Nathan starts to eat, as they chew their food Nathan and Sam watch Audrey and
Duke talk.
Suddenly people at the beach starts to
collapse. Nathan and Sam chewing their food stand watching horrified.
Act I
BEACH - DAY
Audrey and Nathan stand on with police around
talking to witnesses. Dwight among them.
Ambulances take the sick away. Eli, the
paramedic tells Dwight he’ll come back for the rest.
Nathan and Audrey come back together Dwight
joins them, “Some day off.” He says and looks around, “Where’s Duke and Sam?”
Audrey tells Dwight, “We sent them home.”
Dwight nods, “How’s Duke?”
Nathan shrugs and Audrey sours her lips
indicting he’s not doing well.
Hands on his hips Dwight looks to Nathan and
Audrey, “Well good luck, let me know.”
Audrey nods as Nathan says, “Will do.”
Just as Dwight turns back to his car Daniel and
James pull up. Going up to them Dwight asks, “Do you think this is related to
the bank robbery?”
James says no, and holds up the clothes he has
in his hands, “just bringing them clothes.”
Audrey and Nathan take the clothes from James
and thank him.
Daniel sitting in the car, with his legs hanging
out says, “yeah, no problem.”
Dwight nodding asks, “How’s the bank
investigation going?”
Daniel nodding says, “We got a lead.”
Nathan as he puts his pants on over his suit
asks James, “Bank investigation?”
James elaborates, “Bank robbery. Don’t try to
take any cash out of the bank today.”
Nathan nods, “thanks, be careful.”
James nods, looks around at the people on the
ground, sweeting in a high fever and says, “You too, good luck.” He pats Nathan
on the back. Nathan is startled. Daniel chuckles.
James gets in the car as Daniel scoots in.
INT. CAR (MOVING)
As Daniel and James drive away Daniel tells
James as if asking, “To the tattoo parlors.”
James nods, “Let’s find a man with a Lily on
his wrist.” James holds a photo of the video that shows the man has a little on
his wrist.
BEACH - DAY
Audrey tells Nathan, “We should head to the
hospital, see if these victims have anything in common.”
Nathan turns to the concession stand, looking
at the half eaten shrimp in his food container he says, “I hope they didn’t eat
the shrimp.”
Audrey hesitates saying, “I’m sure it’s a
little more trouble like, I doubt that’s what it was.” She ponders, “But maybe
we should go check.”
She walks over towards the concession stand.
Nathan follows.
INT. CAPE ROUGH
Duke with Sam enter the boat as Sam asks him, her
voice twinging with tension and frustration, “I just want to know what
happened?”
Duke says, “Nothing.”
Sam argues, “It obviously wasn’t nothing Duke,
otherwise you wouldn’t have stormed away like that.”
Duke, “Well, I was standing next to Nathan and
I think that’s a good enough reason to storm away.”
Sam sighs, “Duke, what’s going on. I’m just
asking because I care. Talk to me.”
Duke looks up annoyed saying, “We have talked,
and talked, and talked and it’s not going away. I killed people.”
Sam looks at him sympathetically, “Yes, you did
but it wasn’t your fault and it was war Duke, they walked in expecting war, in
war people die. You showed remarkable self-restrain despite the trouble. Have I
told you how proud I am of that?”
Duke sighs, it doesn’t make him feel better.
“In the end you were defending yourself.” Sam
adds.
Duke mumbles, “I didn’t have to kill them.”
Sam says, “No, but it’s done, you have to find
a way to forgive yourself, so you don’t add another person to the causality
list.”
Duke turns to Sam, “Have I told you how sexy
that suit makes you look?“
Sam smiles, knowing he’s trying to change the
subject. She glares at him with the smile on her face, then sighs letting it
go, “No.” she says.
He reaches out, “Well, you look very sexy.”
She pulls away pleading, “Duke….” She sighs, “I
need to tell you something.”
Hesitant Duke says, “Okay, that doesn’t sound
good.”
She looks to him and sighs guiltily.
“That sounds worse.” He says looking to her
lovingly.
“About having a baby?”
Duke argues, “I’m done with the smuggling I
swear, the boat hasn’t left the dock but for legitimate fishing for the Gull, I
even got a license this time.”
“The thing is I’m not ready.” She looks up to
him pleading, “Can we wait?”
Duke hugs her, “Of course.” He kisses her
passionately on the neck. She smiles. He then pulls away, “you’re not holding
out until I forgive myself.”
She glares at him, “Is that something that I
do.”
He shakes his head, “No.”
“I know what it’s like not to forgive yourself.
I don’t want that for you.”
Duke puts his hand against Sam’s cheek, “Kat.”
He says.
Looking down with her eyes, she confirms his
suspicions.
INT. TATOOO SHOP - DAY
Inside the tattoo parlor, where designs are
plastered along the walls James and Daniel enter. “three down, two to go.”
James says.
“and then dairy.” Daniel adds.
James looks to Daniel, “He could have gotten
this in LA for all we know.”
The receptionist comes in, tattooed herself
with dark black hair and a nose ring.
James asks if anyone got a flower tattoo on his
wrist. They show the artists a picture from the video they have revealing the
tattoo.
The woman nods, “yeah, about 5 years ago.”
James is surprised, “5 years, you remember
that far back.”
The woman adds, “I have a photographic memory.
We don’t get many men wanting Lilly’s, it was for a girl who died. You remember
a thing like that. His name was Richard, Richard Crawly. He lived on Pinehurst
1780.”
Daniel adds a thanks and starts to head out.
James hangs around sayings, “that is amazing
that you remember.”
Daniel turns back to him, “James.”
James, reluctant with puppy dog eyes, heads out
with Daniel.
INT. CAR (PARKED)
In the car with Daniel James says, “wasn’t that
amazing.”
Daniel looking up Richard Crawly from Pinehurst
1780 in the system he tells James, “She can’t be good.”
Reacting James says, “just because she’s tattoo
and pierced…”
Daniel shakes his head, “No, it’s because
you’re interested in her. Your wife was insane and then Zara was a witch.”
James argues, “That’s-”
Daniel cuts him off, “You’re only interested
because she has a photographic memory and you still have amnesia. You take way
too much after your grandfather.”
James chuckles, “You did Marry Mavis.”
Daniel sighs, “Yeah.”
The computer gives them a new address, “843
Fredrick Blvd, Richard Crawly”
INT. HOSPITAL - DAY
At the hospital, Nathan and Audrey talk, “The
list the concessioner--”
Nathan corrects her pronunciation,
“concessionaire”
Audrey repeats herself, “the concessionaire
gave doesn’t match the intake from the beach. Not all of them ate at the stand
let alone the same thing.”
The doctor comes up to them frazzled.
Nathan asks, “What’s going on with them?”
The doctor putting his hand in his white lab
coat and leaning over softly says to Nathan and Audrey, “they’ve all been stung
by a scorpion. We’ve given them the antiviral but, it’s like its reproducing. I
can’t save them.”
Nathan nods, “defiantly a trouble.”
Audrey wonders, “But whose?”
Act II
EXT. HOSPITAL - DAY
In front of the hospital Nathan and Audrey
welcome Dave and Vince. They have done research there was a family that had the
scorpion trouble, a terrible one, the hands of the troubled would stink anyone
if touched when provoked.
Nathan questions, “provoked?”
Dave clarified, “the person had to be angry. It
was the Sorrel’s, they were sore about everything. Angry all the time so lethal
all the time.”
Audrey asks if there’s any decedents.
Vince says not that they can trace.
Nathan comments, “we’ll have to do this the old
fashion way”.
Dave and Vince agree to help question people
Audrey points them with her head to follow Nathan and her inside. They go
inside.
EXT. RICHARD’S HOUSE -
DAY
James and Daniel show up at a house, with
Lily’s in the front. James says, “Looks like the right house.”
A woman comes to the door, “Mrs. Crawly?”
Daniel asks.
She says, “Yes.”
They ask if they can speak to her husband, showing
their badges, “of course.” She says, confused as to what this is about.
INT. RICHARD’S HOUSE -
DAY
Inside the house she tells her husband two cops
are there to ask him some questions, she looks to Richard wondering what they
might be wanting.
James asks, “Can you tell us where you were at
1:30 am last night?” Crawly says, “Here asleep I think.”
James questions, “you think?”
Richard sighs, “Something weird did happen,”
His wife asks, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Richard shoos her away by standing with his
back facing her, “I didn’t want to worry you.”
He turns to James, “I woke up dressed, standing
on my front porch this morning.”
Daniel asks, “Can we have the clothes that you
were wearing, we might be able to tell where you’d been.”
Richard nods, “yeah, sure.”
He goes to get the clothes. His wife follows.
James leans over to Daniel, “You’ve been watching way too much CSI.”
James says.
Daniel responds, “I think it will help. You saw
the video, he was in a trance.”
James nods, “yeah.”
INT. HOSPITAL – PACIENT
ROOMS - DAY(MULTIPLE ROOMS AS SEE FIT)
In the hospital Dave, Vince, Audrey and Nathan
are asking the patient questions in their rooms, “do you remember feeling a
pinch at any time?”
The patients sweating and weak answer yeah, but
are not sure if they saw anyone specific around that time.
INT. HOSPITAL - HALLWAY
- DAY
Nathan comes out of a room, note pad in hand,
and looks to Audrey in another room.
The doctor comes up to him, “Have you made any
progress?”
Nathan shakes his head, “It’s going to take a
while.”
The doctor sighs worried, “Time they don’t
have.”
Audrey comes out of the room as Dave and Vince
come to the doctor as well,
“Any news?” Vince asks.
Dave utters, “We came up empty.”
Everyone remembers a sting but no person.”
Audrey adds, “no one in common.”
Dave sees a video camera and asks, “Maybe we
could recreate the day.” He points to the camera.
Nathan nods, “Get all the cameras you can.”
INT. POLICE STATION -
DAY
At the station they watch the video’s stumped.
Dave and Vince are so frustrated they begin to bicker about the Sorrels, the
family that is associated with scorpion bites.
Dave told Vince there were no more decedents. Dave
is eager to figure this out because patients are running out of time.
INT. HOSPITAL - DAY
In the hospital patients are feverish.
INT. POLICE STATION -
DAY
In the station Audrey calms them down, telling
them to start over together, this time looking slower at the videos together. They
start with the longest.
LATER
Nathan with the remote in hand fasts forward
when in the video Duke travels through the crowd, they know it’s not Duke.
Audrey tells him to stop.
With the video paused they see that there’s a
bloody mark on a man. Duke’s hand swabs it up and his eyes turn silver.
Vince says, “That’s why people didn’t remember
blood.”
Audrey reacts to this saying, “wait a minute”
she takes the controls and rewinds just a bit.
A moment before Duke touches the man there is
no blood, after he does there is.”
Dave says, “Duke?” shocked.
Act III
INT. POLICE STATION -
DAY
At the station they are all shocked that Duke
is the one with the scorpion trouble.
Dave and Vince bicker about it; he already has
one, but it could belong to his mother no one knew who her father was, she was
a sweet woman they both agree on this saying perhaps she didn’t express it.
Audrey picks up her keys.
Nathan looks to her.
“We have to get to Sam.” She says.
Dave and Vince immediately stop bickering and
join them also worried about Sam.
Nathan instructs Dave and Vince to head back to
the hospital, once he cures Duke the patients should get better.
Dave adds, “theoretically.” understanding they
need to talk to them when/if it happens.
INT. CAPE ROUGE - DAY
Sam sits on Duke’s boat reading a theology
book.
Duke looks over to her keys in hand, “I’m going
to the bank, need any cash?” Duke asks. “No, I’m good thank you.”
Sam gets up, “You could smile you know, at
least smirk.”
He turns to her annoyed, “Don’t…” he shakes his
head.
She says, “Your smirk is sexy.” Duke holds up
his hands annoyed, gesturing as if they’re claws and he’s closing them like a
crab, he than says, “you’re just making it worse.”
Sam backs away, “okay, I’m sorry. I love you
smile or not.” Duke smiles and realizing he is chuckles. He leaves.
DOCK PARKING - DAY
Duke
leaves the dock parking lot in his jeep.
INT. POLICE LAB - DAY
James and Daniel at the police lab are told by
the lab tech the clothes were actually a good idea. According to the flowers
and the red clay along with wet cement on the edge of his shoes Richard walked
down bank street where they’re doing the new sidewalk and then through the
park, the only place marigolds are, and into the old pizzeria, the only place
on that side of town with red brick.
James asks if he’s sure.
The lab tech, a young man says. I’m sure he was
there.
Daniel adds, “but not sure that the witches
are.”
The tech says, “exactly” and leaves with some
samples.
Daniel wants to check it out.
James is uncertain they should.
Daniel assures him, “we’ll just check it out.”
INT. CAPE ROUGE - DAY
With Sam reading alone in the boat, she hears a
noise around her, “Duke” she calls out.
It’s Audrey and Nathan, Sam jumps. Once calm
she asks, “What’s going on?”
Audrey, with a tone of urgency asks where Duke
is.
“He went to the bank to get cash.” Sam says.
Nathan says, “Oh no.”
Audrey and Sam at the same time ask, “What?”
Nathan says, “the bank robbery last night left
no cash at the bank.”
Audrey and Nathan run back to their car. Sam
follows asking, “What is going on?”
“We’ll tell you on the way.” Audrey says and
both Audrey and Sam jump in the truck.
INT. BANK - DAY
At the bank, a couple of people in line behind
him Duke stands in front of the teller and asks, “How is it that you don’t have
any cash?”
The teller explains, “There was a mix up with
deliveries.”
Audrey and Nathan run in, “Duke stop.”
Audrey yells adding, “Don’t touch anyone.”
Duke turns around with his hands up, “I just
wanted some cash.” He says annoyed and confused as to why this is happening.
At the bank Audrey tells everyone in the bank,
“there is no cash so if that’s why you’re here…” Everyone goes away annoyed.
As people leave Nathan goes up to Duke and
whispers, “you have a trouble.” Duke, his hands in the air says, “Yes, we all
know what it is.”
Nathan says, “No, another one.”
Duke annoyed but trying to stay calm for the
crowd says, “What?”
Nathan says. “I have to heal you.”
Duke shakes his head, “No, my trouble can save
people.”
Sam adds quietly, “It won’t work. He has to
express it. How are you feeling, annoyed?”
Duke sighs, “Yes.”
“Touch me.” Sam asks.
Both Duke and Nathan shakes their heads, “No.”
Sam turns to Nathan, “You’ll heal him when he
does.”
Duke shakes his head, “I won’t Sam, whatever
this is.”
Sam gestures with her head pointing to Nathan,
“what about Nathan, he annoys you.”
Duke nods okay.
Nathan quickly before Audrey can object says, “at
the same time.”
Audrey says, “Wait” just as Duke touches him as
Nathan heals him.
Audrey says, “You should have waited.” as Duke
notices Nathan’s blood on his hands, it doesn’t seep in.
He punctures himself with his nails and drips
it onto his skin, the blood absorbs.
Nathan reminds Duke, “I’m not troubled
anymore.”
Duke nods, “good.”
Audrey asks, “Are you alright?”
Nathan looks to the puncture mark, on his arm,
“it doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Audrey gets a phone call.
INT. HOSPITAL - DAY
Dave and Vince talk to Audrey over the phone
from the hospital. They see/report the patients are out of their fevers.
INT. BANK - DAY
At the bank Audrey is still on her cell phone.
Duke still bleeding from his wound drips onto
the floor and it fizzles like acid making a horrid noise.
Audrey asks, “What is that?”
Through the phone Dave and Vince asks, “What is
what?”
Sam says, “Oh no.”
Audrey looks to Sam knowing Sam realizes
something she doesn’t, “What is it?”
But before Sam can answer Duke breathing
heavily panicking starts to seize and turn into different things.
Act IV
INT. BANK - DAY
At the bank with Duke seizing, turning into
different things Audrey goes to him handing the phone to Nathan behind her.
Nathan takes the phone and says, “Hold
on.” To Dave and Vince.
Audrey goes up to Sam who is crouching
next to Duke.
Duke on the ground says, “It’s
happening…all that blood…all those people.”
Audrey calmly asks, “Duke, what’s
happening?”
Struggling to stay in his own form
says, “My trouble, Sam discovered that my relatives absorbed the troubles, they
weren’t gone. My great Aunt absorbed too many and died.”
He shape shifts some more
uncontrollably, the blood from his hand continues to sizzle on the floor of the
bank.
“I’m here.” Sam says and reaches out
to touch him, to console him.
“Get back.” He barks.
She jumps and pulls her hands back
just before flames expel from his hands, leaving burns. He screams.
Sam cringes.
Duke looks to Sam, “I don’t want to
hurt you.” He turns his head to the ground grunting in pain and says, “Please
Lord help me.” Taking a deep breath he stands. His hands badly burned. He
manages to keep his own form and begins to hobble towards the exit.
Audrey asks, “What can I do?”
Duke looks to Audrey, “Hold her back.”
He says with a look of goodbye to Sam.
“Duke?” Sam says sadness in her eyes
asking him not to do this. She starts to run to him but Audrey holds her back
wrapping her arms around Sam’s waist.
“Sam, Sam” Audrey says holding her back, trying
to tell her it’s too late.
Duke walks out of the bank and an electrical
charge sparks all over his body. He falls to the ground revealing behind him
Dave holds a Taser.
Seeing Duke on the ground Sam and Audrey run
outside. Nathan runs out there with them.
“I thought we might need some help.” Nathan
says.
Sam says “Thank you.” And hugs Nathan.
“We should get him out of here.” Audrey says.
EXT. BRICK BUILDING –
DAY
Daniel and James are in front of a brick
building. They sneak around the property.
James uncertain about this says, “We should
have backup.”
Daniel sighs, “What good would that do?”
James adds, “We should at least report to
Dwight.”
Daniel looks into the building’s dusty windows
and sees piles of money. “It’s them” he says. and busts through the door.
James says, “wait” trying to stop him but it’s
too late.
They hide inside watching as the witches talk.
Zara
trash talks Mavis for questioning them about the bank robbery.
James says, “I guess that explains that it
wasn’t Mavis’ doing.”
Kat calls Mavis bossy and Jeremy is on Mavis
side saying, “I’m not going to dissent from her again after last time.”
Kat snaps at him, “That was the past this is
now. You’re the one who set up all those cameras. She hardly knows anything
about this century.”
Zara adds, “And she said Duke would be
vulnerable soon, soon is always relative for her.”
James hiding with Daniel says, “Dissention in
the ranks, could be a way to disempower them, splitting them up.”
Daniel nods, “It was always like that. That’s
what happened last time but Mavis just started over.”
James adds, “You’ll have to tell me about
before sometime.”
Daniel responds, “Yeah.”
James pulls on Daniel’s coat, “Now we should
tell Dwight.”
Daniel reluctantly nods.
They turn to go and Mavis stands behind them,
“Going somewhere?” She looks to Daniel, “Honey, you’re home.”
INT. CAPE ROUGE -
EVENING
Vince, Dave, Sam, Nathan, and Audrey bring the
unconscious Duke over to the bedroom and lay him on the bed.
Duke begins to stir. Dave and Vince startle
backing away.
Duke doesn’t awake and they breathe easy
thankful.
Audrey tells Vince and Dave, “You get out of
here. You don’t need to be here.”
Vince and Dave nod and exit, like the cowards
they are.
Nathan says, “We’ll take him out to sea and do
it there?”
“Do what?” Sam asks afraid for Duke and
defensive for him.
Audrey assures Sam, “Cure him.”
Sam nods but she’s shaken.
Audrey looks to her, “Can you drive the boat?”
Sam shakes her head, “I’m not leaving him.”
“Sam, we need to make sure we don’t hurt the
rest of Haven. Nathan has to be here to cure him when he awake and I can’t
drive the boat. Can you drive it?”
Sam nods, “Yeah.” She scrounges out of room and
climbs the ladder.
“You could have driven the boat.” Nathan says.
“I don’t want her to be here. This may not go

Audrey pats him on the shoulder encouraging
him.
Duke stirs and just as his hands burst into
flames again Nathan grabs his cheeks.
Act V
INT. CAPE ROUGE –
BEDROOM - NIGHT
Duke
is panting on the bed. Nathan pants sitting on the floor. Duke is calm for now.
Audrey puts a wash cloth on Nathan’s head.
Suddenly Duke starts to turn white,
screaming his veins throb with ice jetting through them. Nathan leaps up,
Audrey jumps aside and Nathan pressing his hands against Duke’s cheeks to heal
Duke.
Audrey thrown by the movement of the
boat carries a look of concern on her face.
INT. BRICK WAREHOUSE -
NIGHT
James and Daniel are tied up hanging from
pipes, swinging. They awaken.
Mavis stands in front of them with the other
witches behind her. “Hello.” She says and asks, “What oh what should we do with
you?”
Without looking at the others Mavis says, “I
told you the bank robbery would lead them to us.”
Zara
annoyed says, “We should just kill them Mavis.”
Mavis nods, “Yes, but how? I want to do it
slowly.”
Daniel immediately starts to pull at his
restrains. James follows Daniel’s motions.
Mavis looks over to some glass on the floor,
“want to do some target practice?
As the witches float the pieces of glass Daniel
and James at the same time say, “no, let him go.” and swing over to the other.
A flash of light bursts from around them
hitting the witches and disorienting them. The glass falls on the ground. Holding
their heads in pain, their ears ringing the witches stumble out of the
building.
EXT. BRICK WAREHOUSE –
NIGHT
The witches emerge from the
warehouse. Outside they run in a blur.
INT. BRICK WAREHOUSE -
NIGHT
James and Daniel look to each other, they know they made the light. Quickly they leverage themselves
free from the restraints.
INT. CAPE ROUGE –
DUKE’S BEDROOM – NIGHT
Duke screams as Nathan cures him his
veins return to normal. Nathan sits back
down on the floor exhausted. Audrey looks to Duke and then Nathan both
exhausted. She crawls over to Nathan and
whispers, “You can’t save him.”
“I will.” Nathan says determined and exhausted.
“You’ll die and he will anyway.” She says, “I
care about Duke too.”
Nathan shakes his head, “No. I won’t stop.”
Duke screams as bugs crawl out of his ears.
Nathan reaches out and heals him.
Audrey watching them starts to cry, a tear
falls from her cheek. She reaches up to her face and feels the tear, looking at
it on her hand she’s surprised.
Nathan leans back letting his hands fall from
Duke’s cheeks and leaning against the wall of the bedroom.
Sam runs down, “Duke” she says and goes to him,
he reaches out to keep her away and made anxious his nails extend into Z-Acto
knives cutting her just through the skin on her hand.
“Stay away” he says.
Nathan reaches in and places his hands on
Duke’s cheeks.
“Sam?” Audrey says as if questioning her
presence.
Sam ardently says, “No, I’m not leaving. The
boat’s in clear waters away from town. I’m staying here with my husband.”
Duke turns to Sam with regret in his eyes
suddenly he gasps as something begins to crawl underneath his stomach as if
trying to get out. Nathan reaches out and heals him. As Nathan’s hands drop
Duke yells, “I am so going to die.”
Sam yells, “Don’t talk like that.”
“All I can see is that damn tattoo.”
Sam chuckles as if unable to control herself,
“Sorry, tense moment.”
“I thought you’d enjoy that. If that’s the last
thing I hear.”
Just then Duke screams as he starts to flail
making a sound of a dolphin. Nathan is unable to cure him because Duke won’t
stay still. “Hold him down.” Nathan yells.
Sam and Audrey get on top of him, laying across
him to keep him down.
Nathan grabs his cheeks. So tired he starts to
loose consciousness and falls on the ground.
“Nathan.” Audrey calls out and is going to go
to him but feels pulled towards Duke. She feels her abdomen something is happening.
Duke begins to growl like a lion and grows
claws.
Audrey’s abdomen against him a glow comes from
Audrey’s abdomen. Duke’s growling subsides. He’s relieved. He waits for another but nothing happens.
Sam hugs Duke, “You’re okay.”
Duke nods, “Yeah. Just tired.” He says and
falls asleep immediately.
Sam’s hand, still bleeding is pressed against
his cheek. As she looks away, her blood seeps in. She looks to Audrey, who
checks Nathan.
“He’s fine, just passed out.” Audrey says.
“What happened?” Sam asks.
Audrey stares off and says, “I don’t know.”

INT. POLICE STATION –
CHIEF’S OFFICE - DAY
In the chief’s office Dwight says, “What were
you thinking?” to Daniel and James, scolding them for going to the building
with the witches without talking to him.
James and Daniel both stand there sheepishly.
Dwight sighs, “Well, at least now we know, you
have a bond.”
Daniel nods, “Yeah.”
INT. POLICE STATION –
MAIN ROOM - DAY
Daniel and James exit the office, “Thanks for
back there.” James says.
“Thank you too, you didn’t have to follow me,
probably shouldn’t have.”
James bobs his head in a kind of nod, “It’s
what partners do.”
Daniel sighs, “In the future I’ll listen to
you.”
James nods and smiles, “that would probably be
a good idea.”
INT. CAPE ROUGE – BEDROOM
- DAY
Duke lays in bed recovering. Sam comes in,
“Hey, is there anything I can get you. I was planning on going to the store.”
“Some steak sounds good.”
Sam nods, “Okay.” She kisses him on the
forehead.
INT. DOCTOR’S OFFICE
Nathan and Audrey are at the doctor’s office,
Audrey talks to Nathan, “I swear I felt something inside me.”
Nathan sighs, “If you can heal, why didn’t you
all along?”
Audrey says, “I don’t know.”
As the doctor enters, “Well, Audrey, I have the
tests back and you’re pregnant.”
Audrey and Nathan stare at the doctor shocked
both say, “Pregnant?”
INT. CAPE ROUGE –
BEDROOM – DAY
Duke hears noises down the hall, “Sam,
are you back?” he asks.
Jeremy enters, there’s a struggle,
shelves are pulled down and punches thrown as they tussle. Finally Jeremy has
the upper hand his arm blocking Duke’s airway. Duke only able to see Jeremy’s
tattoo on his arm stops moving dead.
EXT. CAPE ROUGE – DAY
Sam walks up with the groceries and
sees Jeremy walking out. She drops the bad and runs to Duke.
INT. CAPVE ROUGE –
BEDROOM – DAY
She sees Duke on the floor and
saddened saying “Duke, Duke” tears streaming down her face she starts CPR.
