NBC New Fall Shows 2010

Lots of drama with a little comedy and some public service too.

Chase;
It’s a full on Action Drama. They seem to have done their research in how the US Marshall Service works. They are going to find the top 15 most violent criminals so as the audience you must be prepared for some violence. Premiers Monday September 20th 10/9c.

The Event;
It’s a conspiracy show that will show you more about “the Event” every time without showing the whole picture therefore getting people to continue watching in order to find out the whole story. It’s like Heroes, Lost, Alias, and The Nine but hopefully they will be more systematic about the episodes always keeping the details of the event the same and the episodes consistent with those details. And hopefully giving us all the answers to the questions we have by the end of the series. Premiers Monday September 20th 9/8c.

Law and Order Los Angeles;
All I can say is not another Law and Order. I couldn’t even watch the preview. Law and order is Law and order it speaks for itself. Premiers Wednesday September 29th 10/9c.

Outlaw;
a justice that wants to change the law to do the right thing but the question is “is the right thing for him the right thing?” it’s come at the perfect time when people feel like the system has failed them and this guy comes and wants to change it. I also saw part of a preview that was really funny. So don’t for one second think this is just a serious drama. It’s about people and people aren’t always serious. Premiers Friday September 17th.

Outsourced;
Think the office meets Big Bang Theory. About a guy who is told he’s going to run a call center in India. It’s about culture clashing and the underdogs finding their way, slowly most likely because they want to stay on the air for awhile. Warning though it wasn’t that inappropriate for the ads but I could see it getting pretty inappropriate. Just in case you don’t like that I wanted to warn you. Premiers Thursday September 23rd 9:30/8:30c.

School Pride;
Think extreme home makeover meets a school. Premiers Oct. 15th Friday 8:00/7:00c.

Undercovers;
From J.J Abrams the man who brought us Alias a new spy drama about two married people who come out of retirement to work the spy trade once again. It’s funny and the fact that their married doesn’t hurt the romance one bit as far as the ad makes it clear. I just hope that Abrams stays away from the supernatural this time. It’s about personal relationships as far as the ad says and I think it’s great premise everyone can get in on. A dramatic, comedic, romantic, action packed journey. Everything anyone could want; the best kind of show. Premiers September 22nd Wednesday 8/7c

CBS New Fall Shows 2010

CBS is sticking mostly with comedy this year although there’s a few drama shows.

Mike and Molly;
A love story in a comedy about two people who meet and get in a relationship but their family and friends are well “they don’t always say the right things”. The ad reminded me a bit of the tone of “Everybody Loves Raymond” so if you liked that show you’ll love this. And I have a good feeling it will not only touch the audience but be funny without being wildly inappropriate. Starts Monday September 20th 9:30/8:30c.

Hawaii Five-O;
From watching the preview at first I didn’t know what to think. It’s going to have a bit of everything, comedy, drama, and action. Isn’t that the best kind of show? It’s a cop drama but they aren’t cops per say they are a separate unit made up of many different character types. It will be interesting to see where these characters take themselves when put together like this. Premiers Monday Sept 20th 10/9c.

The Defenders;
My first thought is oh no not another courtroom drama BUT and this is a big but it’s going to be funny. Finally mixing of the genres that’s the best type of show. Catch it on Wednesday September 22nd and 10/9 central.

S#^! My Dad Says;
The title says it all. It will be wildly inappropriate but a lot of people like that. Watching the preview I was entertained and I don’t care for inappropriate. But if you do you’ll love it. Premiers Thursday Sept 23rd 8:30/7:30c.

Blue Blood;
Not only a cop show but also a family drama about a family of cops and oh the sister is a district attorney. It’s an interesting twist to not only the family drama but the cop drama. Premiers Friday Sept 24th 10/9 central.

The CW New Fall shows 2010

CW started their new line up this last week. After watching the premiers of the two new shows Nakita and Hellcats I find them to be promising. I'm glad that one of the networks is picking just a few of the most promising shows.

Hellcats;
Hellcats is for people who either like cheer leading, teenage girls, or competition. I'm not really in any of those categories yet the characters are well developed and the plot threads, there are many, seem like they will entice people for years. I call it an up.

Nakita;
Nakita is great, the writers and producers are good in not only how they put the writing and production together but knowing their audience expects a certain style. The audience wants to be thrilled and surprised, that's what a spy type drama is supposed to do and they provide that without too much techno-babble or complicated 'what in the world just happened' scenarios. There's a surprise in the premier, I don't want to spoil anything but it brings the audience in on a secret plot thread that should go on for years. The secret we're let in on brings us in the center circle, we feel part of a secret society and I, as an audience member love it. I see great potential and I'm going to watch and see if the writers can keep it up. Let's cross our fingers.
