S5 E4 “Witch Time Part II” – Sam's been shot and Jeremy, the witch, has the witch's book. Haven in the present has no Audrey. So who will save them this time?
Previously on Haven;
Duke discovers he’ll be killed by a man with a four person tattoo. To escape the death he uses the map of a murderer who escaped the tattooed man leading Duke and his first wife Evi to find a plank on an Island which leads to Rasmussen house where they find a small silver box that says “Love conquers All.”
When Stuart Mosley sends Nathan to 1955 his time with Sarah, Audrey’s former personality, produces a child, James. But James doesn’t know he’s Audrey’s son.
Using Mosely’s trouble to send people back in time, Duke and Sam follow Jeremy, one of the witches to 1765. He’s after the book of incantations, the source of the witches’ power.
Duke and Sam meet Norman Crocker, Duke’s ancestor as well as Jack Hanson, Nathan’s ancestor. Jack and Duke witness the murder of the silversmith, the only one who makes the boxes, before the little box is ready. Together with Daniel and young Audrey Sam, Duke, and Jack get the book from Mavis, but Sam is shot and the book is taken by Jeremy. Sam and Duke are trapped and she’s injured in 1765 as fighting goes on outside.

INT. RASMUSSEN HOUSE – DAY - 1765
Sam wakes up in Rasmussen house to the sound of swords clashing, gunshots bang…a battle rages outside. Her side it bandaged, with a piece of her dress, which is torn at the bottom. Duke stands eating bread and cheese a knife on the table. She looks to him, “Duke.” She says and looks to the boarded up window.
He goes to her, “We’re in 1765. They’ve been fighting all day.”
She gets up with realization, favoring her side not injured, “We have to get the book back.”
Duke shakes his head, “Sam you’re in no shape to go out there.”
Sam insists hobbling over to the door, “It’s a pretzel Duke we succeed keeping it from Mavis.”
Duke takes her arm and implores, “But we don’t know what that pretzel is.” He looks into her eyes, “I don’t want to loose you.”
She puts her hand against his cheek and presses against the door but it won’t budge.
“And we’re trapped, the door’s blocked. I’d be out there myself otherwise…”
She sighs.
“And we have another problem.” Duke says.
Sam looks to him, curious.
Duke continues, “Regis Glendower was killed before he could make the small box. If it’s not made…”
Sam completes his thought, “You won’t find it in Rasmussen house in the future.” Sam flashes back…
INT. RASMUSSEN HOUSE – DAWN - 1765
Sam fades in and out of consciousness, she can hear Duke say, “Stay with me, stay with me.” As he rips her dress and wraps her wound.
She overhears Norman’s voice yell, “They’re in Rasmussen house, guard them.”
BACK TO SCENE
Sam looks to Duke, “Duke, we’re in Rasmussen house. Don’t you have the box in there?” She points to the large silver box.
He pulls out the little box in the bag and looks around. He finds a loose board in the wall and puts the small box covered in the bag inside the wall pulling the board back up as if no one will ever know.
Sam hobbles over to the floor, she takes the knife from the cheese and hobbles over to a small floorboard nearby. She makes a mark on the small board and the one next to it, pointing to the wall.
Duke looks to her shocked, “How did you know?”
Sam says, “I didn’t. It’s a pretzel.”
Duke using the knife pulls the small board out of the floor. “Now how will we get this to the spot where I found it buried and have a murderer make the map?”
Sam says “We’ll worry about that later.” She points to a small wooden case, “Put it in there.”
Duke picks up the case, “That’s what I found it in.”
Suddenly a flaming cloth comes through the window.
Duke stamps it out.
They overhear someone say, “Idiots, don’t burn it down. You’ll burn the book!”
Sam realizes, “They don’t have the book.”
Duke continues, “Jeremy must have it.”
Sam, “If he gets it back to our Haven.”
Duke, “We have to get it first.”
HAVEN – 2014
The town of Haven is run down and dismal as buildings are falling apart and signs haven’t been painted in decades.
INT. POLICE STATION – JAIL CELL – DAY - 2014
A 58 year old man sits in a jail cell, “You have to let me out of here.”
A cop watching smirks,
The 58 year old man says, “My name is James Cogan this isn’t how Haven is supposed to be.”
Act I
INT. POLICE STATION – CHIEF’S OFFICE – DAY - 2014
Daniel sitting at the chief’s desk looks at the file of the murder of Sarah Vernon.
A cop pulls James, 58, in tells Daniel, “You wanted to talk to the loud prisoner.” The cops sits him down.
Daniel looks from the file to James, “You were caught trespassing, fixing this ring in Walter’s shop.” He holds up Audrey’s engagement ring.
James adds, “I can explain.”
Daniel continues, “The ring wasn’t Walter’s so you’re free to go.”
“Time has been changed Haven it’s not supposed to be like this. You need to find a man named Stuart Mosley.”
Daniel looks to him, “What did you say? Did you say Mosely?”
EXT. RASMUSSEN HOUSE – DUSK – 1765
Jack and Daniel move the body from the door of Rasmussen house.
Duke and Sam, leaning against Duke for support, make their way out.
Suddenly a woman panicked, blood running down her head, comes up to them, “Lord Crocker, Lord Crocker, my husband…the witches took my husband.”
Norman to calm her says, “Mrs. Mosley calm down, tell me what happened?”
“Mosley?” Sam says, “Of course, they troubled him after this.”
The woman panics, “They’re going to hurt him.” She says terrified.
Daniel pulls Sam and Duke aside to protect the woman. As Norman pulls the woman the opposite direction to talk.
Sam understanding turns to Daniel insistent, “Mosely sends people forward and backward in time, that’s how we came to be here. Most likely Mavis plans to get the book back that way.”
Daniel’s discouraged, “How can we fight her when she does these things?”
Sam leans into Daniel, “Your daughter, she’s immune to the magic, if there’s a change in time she’ll know.”
Duke insistent asks, “Where would they trouble him? We have to get to Jeremy before he gets home with the book.”
Daniel nods, “Everyone knows where. But no one dares go there at night.”
INT. POLICE STATION – CHIEF’S OFFICE – DAY – 2014
Daniel sits at the chief’s desk shocked and hopeful, “Time has changed. How do you know this?” He asks sincerely and calmly seeking an answer.
James taken aback says, “You believe me?”
Daniel nods, “Yes, but I was told my daughter was the only one who would know if time was changed. But she was killed in 1956.” Daniel places the file on Sarah’s murder in front of James.
“Sarah.” James says, “She was never Lucy or Audrey, that’s where time changed.”
Daniel relieved says, “I never solved her murder.” He turns to James determined, “Let’s find Stuart Mosely.”
As they head out, James takes Audrey’s engagement ring off the table and puts it in his pocket.
INT. POLICE STATION – MAIN ROOM – DAY – 2014
Daniel and James walk out into the main room. Daniel turns to the cop, who brought James in, “Where’s Duke?”
The cop answers, “Where do you think?”
Daniel sighs and shakes his head, “This Duke is not the man who saved Haven.” He utters under his breath and heads out with James.
As he heads out with James, Vince watches. He gets on his cell, “Dave we have a problem.”
INT. STRIP CLUB – DAY - 2014
Duke, with neatly cut hair and frosted tips says, “Everything changed when Mavis came back…the witch wars started. That was before I was born.” He talks to a stripper sitting on his lap. Drunk he says, “Mavis thinks the troubles are entertaining.” He looks at a dancer on a pole. It’s Sam with red hair. “The world is going to hell anyway. I might as well partake. Daniel was wrong to make me a cop, like I can save Haven.”
A young stripper says, “You’re a cop?”
Duke laughs, like it’s some joke. He takes another drink.
Sam, seeing Duke comes off the stage. Eying him she tells the younger girl to buzz off.
Sam gives him a lap dance and he smiles.
EXT. STRIP CLUB – DAY - 2014
Hiding in the bushes is Nathan, a scar across his cheek. He watches the strip club. Dwight behind him.
Dwight asks Nathan, “Why the chief hired Duke I have no idea.”
Nathan spits, “The chief is soft, not willing to do what needs to be done.”
Dwight questions Nathan, “And what are we doing?”
Nathan sits, “Duke always finds a way to get into trouble. We don’t need to find Mavis to take her down, he’ll find her for us.”
Dwight’s skeptical, “I doubt it will be at a strip club.”
INT. STRIP CLUB – DAY - 2014
Sam, as she gives him a lap dance palms him some information, “I hope you like.” She says as she shakes in front of him.
“Very nice.” Duke says as if he’s enjoying the dance.
Moments later Duke gets up and walks toward the exit, completely sober, and thanks the bartender with a nod. The bartender nods.
EXT. STRIP CLUB – DAY – 2014
Duke emerges from the club and glances at the piece of paper in his palm as he moves to pockets it. Dwight jumps him, holds Duke’s arms behind his back.
“What’s on the paper?” Nathan demands to know.
“Stuart Mosley.” Duke says trying yet failing to hold onto the note between his fingers.
Nathan annoyed says, “We were trapped in the past then.”
Pulling his hands back Dwight pears down at the note and turns to Nathan, “It says Stuart Mosley” Dwight reports to Nathan.
Duke shakes his head at Nathan, “Which proves you’re an idiot.”
Nathan punches Duke. Nathan’s knuckles bleed and the blood seeps into Duke’s skin, his eyes turn silver. He throws Dwight across the parking lot and punches Nathan, holding him on the ground, “You are a really big idiot.” Duke mocks Nathan, “Mavis is interested in using Stuart, you can either come with me or get out of my way.”
Nathan stops struggling and nods at Duke. He’ll go with him.
FOREST – NIGHT – 1765
In the forest at night, the four witches stand around the witches circle chanting, with a man standing frightened in the center tied to ropes.
Duke holding the large silver box arrives with Sam and hides behind trees. Sam limping cringes holding her side. Duke looks to her concerned, “Are you alright?”
“I’ll feel much better when this bullet is out” She says.
Duke apologetic says, “I’m sorry I couldn’t-” She puts her hand on his shoulder to cut him off, indicating she understands, it’s alright.
They watch ahead of them to the witches troubling circle. A dark shadow enters the man.
The witch’s sits on their knees and pant heavily, tired from the troubling. Mavis closes her eyes.
Suddenly Jeremy jumps down from the trees standing between Mosely and Sam and Duke. He has the book, a picture held in front of it, “Imagine this Haven.” He yells at Mosely, holding the picture up for him to see.
From behind the trees, behind Jeremy Sam yells running out, “Don’t!” Duke follows.
Mosley turns to Sam.
Mavis opens her eyes and sees the book and only the book, “Get the book!” Mavis yells.
Her witches run in a blur up for the book.
The man witch pulls Duke heading towards Jeremy away. Duke falls on his back and the silver box is sent flying.
The box lands near Sam, she reaches for it and seeing Nell run for the book she hits her with the box, knocking her out. Then Sam falls to her knees holding her side.
The third witch, a woman, tries to pry it from Jeremy’s hands but he clings to it firmly. She takes her nails and cuts into Jeremy’s face. Jeremy screams and as blood drips down Jeremy’s face seeing the male approach him as well Jeremy releases the book and as the picture slips out from in front of it with the fling of his hands he uses his magic to throw the two witches.
Mavis who watches the book falling yells, “Grab the book!” as it slips from Jeremy’s reach, the witches fly over Sam and Duke as Mosley ducks. The witches hit Mavis knocking her over, all the witches unconscious.
Jeremy grabs for the book again yet Duke gets up and grabs the book pulling it from him. But Jeremy re-grips and tugs at it fighting Duke for it. Sam stands holding onto the silver box ready to hit Jeremy with it when Mosley, overwhelmed, looking at the fallen and torn picture of Haven, showing cars from the 1950s, closes his eyes and covers his face.
Duke, Jeremy, and Sam disappear and the book with it, as Duke and Jeremy fight for the book.
Act II
INT. HAVEN DOCKS – DAY - 1956
As Jeremy and Duke show up on the docks in daylight, they both still cling to one end of the book, fighting for it. Duke takes advantage of a disoriented Jeremy pulling the book from his hand he hits him with it. As Jeremy reals Duke throws Sam the book.
Sam, drops the large silver box and catches the book but her wound bleeds through her dress and she stumbles.
Angered Jeremy attacks Duke but Duke punches him in the face. Jeremy’s blood seeps into Duke’s skin, and Duke’s eyes turn silver. He punches him again sending him into the ocean.
“Duke.” Sam calls out meekly. She drops the book and begins to collapse but Duke slides in on his knees and catches her.
In his arms she meekly says, “We’re in the 1950s.” Then she passes out.
Duke panicked yells, “Help! Help! Somebody help!”
A 1950s car pulls up. A young Vince gets out, “Get her in here.” He says.
Duke looks at Vince surprised.
Young Dave gets out as well.
“Get back in the car” Vince orders.
“Get her in already.” Dave gripes.
Duke lifts Sam into the car and looks to the book and chest.
“I’ve got theses.” Young Vince says as he lifts the chest and book.
Vince gets in with the chest and book, they drive away.
DOCKS
From the ocean Jeremy walks, as if on water, the waves around him move him to shore. As he walks his the wounds on his face heal quickly. Focused and stern he’s a man on a rampage. He utters Sarah under his breath.
INT. HOSPITAL – DAY - 1956
Sam’s rolled through on a gurney. Young Dave and Duke with her. Vince behind them holds the large silver chest. A doctor is with them, “What happened?” he asks.
Young Dave reports, “She was in a revolutionary war reenactment and one of the muskets was loaded.”
As they’re at the double doors the doctor reports, “You can’t go any further than here.”
The doctor rolls Sam behind two closed doors. Duke watches the doors.
Young Vince and Dave look to Duke.
“What is this all about?” Vince asks.
Duke looks to the large silver box, taking it from Vince, “The book’s in there?” he asks.
Vince nods, “Yes.”
Dave excited watch Duke as he takes out the board in the wooden case. He peeks at the book and says, “It looks like it’s from the early 1400s.”
Duke asks, “Do you have a match?”
Vince holds out a match book, “Yes.”
Duke swipes it places the box down. He lights a match and throws it in watching the book burn.
Dave is shocked, “that is a piece of the past.”
“Let it stay there.” Duke says as the flame begins to turn purple Duke shuts the lid closed. The silver case rattles.
“What was that?” Dave asks.
Vince says. “We should call Sarah, she handles things like this.”
Duke nods, “Tell her it’s Duke, ask her to bring some clothes for me and my wife, a shovel and the address of Stuart Mosley.”
INT. RETIREMENT HOME – MOSLEY’S ROOM - DAY – 2014
Stuart Mosley sits on the bed in his retirement home.
James 58, and Daniel 90s enter, “Stuart, Stuart Mosley?” James says asking him.
Stuart looks over to him slowly, “Do I know you?”
James shakes his head, “No.”
“You knew someone very dear to me” Daniel says, pleading with him, “Sarah Vernon.”
Mosely looks down sadly, “Yes, I did.” He looks off into space completely unresponsive as he utters, “Sarah, Sarah.” Over and over again.
“Well great, now what?” James asks.
Suddenly they hear shot fired outside, in the hall.
“Nathan.” Daniel says under his breath upset.
INT. RETIREMENT HOME - HALLWAY – DAY – 2014
Nathan shoots down the hall. Mavis stands at the end of the hall, and sends the bullets back with her magic.
Duke pulls Nathan to a hallway to the side, the bullets wiz by them. “Idiot. You do know she’ll just send them right back.”
“Not if you shoot at her feet.” Nathan says, “It’s harder for her to adjust the trajectory.”
Duke nods.
They both shoot at the Mavis’s feet and race to Mosley’s room, labeled with his name.
INT. RETIREMENT HOME – MOSLEY’S ROOM – DAY - 2014
Daniel and James watch as Duke and Nathan enter.
Looking to Duke, “What are you doing here?” Daniel asks as Nathan starts to barricade the door.
“Mavis is after him,” Duke points at Mosley, “I don’t know why.” Duke looks at Daniel confused, “Why are you here?”
Daniel ponders, “I think I know why she’s after him...”
Suddenly Mavis using her magic barges through the door, throwing Nathan and Duke across the room.
Act III
INT. RETIREMENT HOME – MOSLEY’S ROOM – DAY - 2014
James, Daniel, and Duke in the room with Mosley. Duke and Nathan on the floor across the room. James stands his ground in front of Mavis, Audrey’s ring on his pinky finger.
Mavis flings her hand to fling James out of the way. But her magic doesn’t work on him. “What?” She stands their confused.
Daniel looks at James mouth agape.
Mavis approaches James “Who are you?” She demands to know and reaches out and grabs James arm and as she touches him she cringes in pain. James jumps back and the ring falls off his finger and rolls on the ground, Daniel watches as it does.
Mavis angered attacks James grabbing onto his throat, and she’s not in pain. He tries to pry her loose with no success.
Daniel reaches down for the ring and puts it on. He grabs Mavis. She groans in pain, letting go of James and falls to the floor.
Duke and Nathan are up and point their guns on Mavis.
James says, “Wait?” He looks to Mavis, “Why am I immune to your magic?”
“Because you’re Sarah Vernon’s son.” Vince says standing with Dave in the doorway to the hall.
INT. SARAH’S HOUSE - 1956
In 1956 Sarah picks up a tinny newborn baby, “Who’s a good boy?” she says. “You are?”
There’s a noise in the next room. “Is someone there?” Sarah asks.
Dave and Vince enter, “You scared me.” She exclaims.
Vince and Dave are bickering, “I don’t want to bother her.” Dave says.
Vince argues, “I don’t either but…”
“Bother me about what?” Sarah asks.
INT. HOSPITAL – SAM’S ROOM - 1956
Sarah Vernon enters in her nurse’s outfit. She smiles, and says “Duke” affectionately. She’s looking at Duke.
Duke sits by Sam’s bed his hand in Sam’s. Pleased, “Sarah.” He sighs relieved. He goes and embraces her.
After the hug she tells Duke, “I have the things you asked for and…” she turns to a woman behind her, “She can heal your wife.”
Duke nods, “Thank you.”
She holds out keys, “the shovel’s in the trunk, Mosely lives on a remote island.”
“Near the bluff?” Sam asks.
Sarah nods, “Yes.”
Sam looks to Duke, “there’s where you found the…”
He nods.
Sarah holds keys out for Duke.
Sam points to the large silver chest, “Can you get this to Simon Crocker?” Sam asks.
Sarah nods.
EXT. HOSPITAL PARKING LOT – DAY - 1956
Duke holds the keys. Together Duke and Sam approach the car, Sam wearing 50s capris and Duke in some of Vince’s pants. Duke holds the box with the board in his hands. A man comes over to them standing behind Sam. He points a gun at her, “Get me out of here or your dame gets it.”
Duke freezes panicked.
“I’ve killed three men the FBI are after me. Get me out of here or I’ll kill her.” The man with the gun says.
“You’re a murderer.” Sam says, shooting Duke a look.
“I’ll get you to where you want to go.” Duke says calmly, “Just don’t hurt my wife.”
Duke drives through the parking lot while the murderer holds Sam firmly in the back seat, a gun on her. Jeremy sees them and runs after them, he jumps onto the car. Hanging on the windshield his four person tattoo shows.
“Get him off.” The murderer says.
Duke swerves trying to get him off.
Spooked the murderer shots at Jeremy. Jeremy dodges the bullets letting go with one hand. He’s thrown from the car. Duke takes off as Jeremy rolls on the street.
Dave and Vince watch little James in a stroller. Dave points out Jeremy on the street.
“Are you alright?” Vince asks going to Jeremy. As Dave stays with the stroller.
Jeremy looks to Vince and Dave and smiles.
Dave worried calls out, “Vince?”
Jeremy grabs Dave, “Where is Sarah Vernon?” He demands to know.
“I believe she’s at our place, she lives with us. 23 Oak.”
Jeremy smiles, “Excellent.” He says and places his hand over Vince’s head.
Dave goes to him, “What are you doing?”
INT. CAR (MOVING)– DAY - 1956
The murderer holds the gun on Sam in the backseat as Duke drives.
“Why is the tattooed man after you?” Sam asks as if the tattoo man has a dangerous reputation.
“The tattoo man?” He says terrified, “Don Leone.” He utters under his breath.
“We know the secret to escaping him.” Sam says, “Everyone knows, it’s buried on an island near the bluff.”
The tattooed man nods, “Head there.” He directs them as if he’s in charge.
Duke smiles proud of his brilliant wife, she’s gotten the murderer to believe he’s the one being chased, which will match up with the history they know about the plank they took from Rasmussen house.
EXT. HOSPITAL – DAY – 1956
Dave and Vince sit with little James in front of the hospital, happily.
Sarah comes out, “I’m going to head home, with him.” Sarah says. She turns to Dave and Vince, “Did our visitors get away alright?”
“What visitors?” Vince asks.
“Right, of course, what visitors?” She says smiling, “best to keep it a secret.” She whispers taking the stroller and walking away.
Dave and Vince look to each other. “We haven’t had any visitors?” Vince says.
Dave thinks, “I think it’s been a pretty uneventful day.”
Vince and Dave both furrow their brows.
INT. RETIREMENT HOME – MOSLEY’S ROOM – DAY - 2014
In Stuart’s room at the retirement home, Vince and Dave continue their story, “We don’t remember the day that Sarah died.” They say as they enter Stuart’s room. Stuart on the bed catatonic continues to utter, “Sarah, Sarah,” moaning.
Mavis is on her knees Duke and Nathan on either side of her, hold their guns on her. She turns to the side, watching Dave and Vince. She eyes the ring on Daniel’s finger.
James squarely facing the door looks to Vince and Dave. Daniel beside him looks to Vince and Dave as well, betrayal on his face. He wasn’t told.
Vince facing James says, “You were born in March of 1956.”
Nathan with a look of realization on his face says, “I think I’m your father.”
James looks to Nathan shocked.
Taking advantage of the distraction Mavis magically pulls Nathan and Duke's guns out of their hands flipping them on them.
“Stop!” Daniel yells, “You need us. Only one of us can go back and save her.”
Mavis looks to Daniel, stiff lipped but listening.
“You can’t.” Daniel says, referring to going back, “you can’t be affected by troubles. You want to save her.”
Mavis says, “Yes. She’s my legacy and I want that book.”
“The book” Daniel utters, Daniel with realization says, “One of your witches did this, you sent him back to get the book and he killed Sarah.”
“I didn’t think he was stupid enough to start his own coven, he tried and failed in 1956. He started the witch wars.”
“It all makes sense now.” Daniel says and flashes back.
FOREST – DAY - 1765
Daniel, with Norman behind him stands in the troubling circle and picks up the torn picture of 1950s Haven.
Norman says, “At least Mosely seems alright.”
BACK TO SCENE
Daniel looks to the ring.
James says, “Nathan should go back with the ring.”
Daniel nods, “I was thinking the same thing.” He looks to Mavis who still has the guns on Nathan and Duke, “You put them down.” He says his fingers over the ring to take it off implying he’ll take the ring off if she puts the guns down, “We’ll work together.”
She nods and Daniel takes the ring off as she puts the guns down. She slides them in opposite directions across the floor.
As Nathan and Duke go for the guns Mavis runs out in a blur.
Nathan turns to follow when Daniel says, “Let her go.”
Daniel holds the ring out to Nathan, “Take this, save my daughter.”
James turns to Nathan, “There’s more you need to know, to tell Sarah…”
Nathan stands attentive.
INT. VINCE AND DAVEN’S HOUSE – BABY’S ROOM - DAY – 1956
Sarah puts baby James down in a basinet.
SUNROOM
Sarah walks into a sunroom. Behind her Jeremy comes up with a knife in his hands, ready to kill her.
Act IV
INT. VINCE AND DAVE’S HOUSE – SUNROOM - DAY – 1956
Sarah walks across the room. Jeremy approaches her from behind a knife in his hand, ready to plunge it into her when Nathan, with a scar across his cheek, comes from behind him, grabbing his hand with the knife, making sure he can’t plunge it into Sarah. As Jeremy yells in pain Sarah turns to them. Seeing Jeremy drop his knife and fall to the ground her mouth drops open in shocked. Seeing Nathan behind Jeremy she is incapable of hiding her smile though her eyes are fearful.
Jeremy on the ground Sarah embraces Nathan terrified. He holds her, “Nathan.” She says, “How did you? Who is he?” she asks, looking over Nathan’s shoulder at Jeremy writhing on the ground.
Nathan making some space between them takes off the ring, “This, it will protect you.” He says and places it on her wedding finger.
“I always dreamed you’d give me a ring.” She says, smugly, “Not exactly what I had in mind.”
“I mean it, if you’ll have me.” Nathan says.
“Oh, Nathan of course I’ll have you.” She kisses him deeply.
Nathan kisses her deeply, “I missed you.” He says.
Just then Jeremy on the ground grabs the knife beside him and plunges it into Nathan’s back.
Sarah gasps as Nathan falls she holds him but he slips from her grip.
Jeremy tries to stab her, she evades and grabs his hand with the knife in it. He writhes in pain and falls on the ground.
Sarah goes to Nathan. A puddle of blood underneath him. “Nathan.” Sarah says distressed.
Nathan pants, having trouble breathing, “I guess, I can’t change fate.”
“We have a son.” Sarah says tears streaming down her cheeks.
“I know.” He says, putting his hand up against her cheeks, “I’ve met him. He wanted me to tell you, you’re going away soon, a barn will appear. You have to go away in it. He had a good life with a family in Colorado, the Cogans. Find them, he’ll be safe with them.”
Just then Sarah is distracted as Jeremy stirs on the ground and runs out in a blur. She’s shocked at the ability.
She looks to Nathan saying, “but…” His eyes are lifeless.
ISLAND BY THE BLUFF – DAY – 1956
Duke and Sam walk along the island with the murderer who holds a gun on Sam, keeping her close. She holds the floorboard from Rasmussen house Duke holds the shovel. “Where is this secret buried? We’ve been walking for hours.” The murderer demands to know.
“It’s not far.” Sam says as they approach a tent, in front of a tree with three rocks by it, “It’s there.” She says pointing to the rocks.”
A man stands by the tent washing out some cups, “Stuart.” Duke calls out.
Stuart turns to him, “You.” He says in a huff and takes a calm breath, “I’m trying to control it, stay back.”
“You can control it and have a normal life.” Sam says and goes up to him. The murderer points his gun at both of them.
“I was in Korea, that gun doesn’t scare me.” Stuart tells the murderer.
He puts the gun in his face and demands like it’s a question, “You’ll protect me from the tattooed man.”
Suddenly Stuart panics, the murderer disappears.
Stuart turns from Sam and Duke panicked, “I’m sorry.” He says ashamed.
Sam looks to him, “No, it’s alright.”
Stuart runs. Sam moves to follow when Duke flies against a tree in front of her. “Duke” she shrieks. He looks to behind her. Jeremy stands there angrily, the tattoo on his arm showing.
Act V
ISLAND BY THE BLUFF – DAY – 1956
Duke threatened by Jeremy, Sam turns to run to Duke but with a wave of his hand Jeremy presses Sam away and she falls down a hill.
Jeremy heads for Duke, “Where’s the book?” he demands.
Duke says, “Ash!” and grabs Jeremy’s face pressing in on his eyeball blood seeps. Duke absorbs the blood and throws Jeremy. Jeremy runs back and kicks Duke.
Sam, with the floorboard from Rasmussen in her hand runs to Duke as she watches Jeremy pummels him. As she runs to him, they all disappear.
Stuart from a hill above closes his eyes ashamed.
ISLAND BY THE BLUFF – DAY – 2012
Duke, Sam, and Jeremy appear on the Island. Sam goes to Duke kicking Jeremy out of the way with fancy kicks. Jeremy falls back and sees Sam and Duke together; Sam lovingly looks to Duke bloodied and hurt. Duke looks to her, “Sam.” He says lovingly and worried.
Jeremy groans in pain, “No. No.”
A plane flies over them, Jeremy looks to it as do Duke and Sam. It’s from the 2000s.
“We’re home.” Sam says but looking over to a banner across to the mainland she sees a banner for the End of Summer Fest 2012.
“We’re in 2012.” She says disheartened.
“Before Evi and I found the board?” Duke says hopeful but unsure.
From beyond the trees they hear “Digging a whole to nowhere!” Duke’s voice booms.
Sam, the older Duke, and Jeremy see the young Duke digging in a yellow jacket and Evi watching.
Jeremy looks to the older Duke in front of him.
Sam worried knows what he’s thinking.
Jeremy in a blur runs towards the younger Duke.
Sam moves to follow him running as fast as she can.
Duke on the ground injured and bleeding yells, “Sam!” He struggles to get up.
ISLAND BY THE BLUFF – BY THE TREES - 2012
Jeremy approaching in a blur attacks the past Duke. Duke’s flat on his back.
Evi shrieks.
Duke gets up and faces Jeremy like he’s in a wrestling match. Jeremy flashes a look down at his arm, his four person tattoo appears.
As a look of terror appears on the younger Duke’s face Jeremy primed to attack him Evi jumps on Jeremy trying to strangle him. Jeremy throws her off with his magic as if by super strength.
Duke looks on terrified when Sam comes and using the board smacks Jeremy in the face. With a few well-placed professional kicks he’s on the ground.
“Who are you?” Evi asks wiping mud off her pants.
Younger Duke stares at Sam.
Sam realizes there’s no hiding, “I’m Duke’s second wife.” She says.
Evi looks to Duke irritated, “Second wife?”
Duke, ignoring Evi looks at Sam smiling, “Really?” he says gleefully.
Evi utters “What?” peeved and confused.
From the direction Sam came they hear a yell, “Sam! Sam!” Duke hobbles over the mountain yelling Sam. He stands in front of his younger self, Evi, Jeremy passed out, and Sam.
Seeing Jeremy on the ground Duke looks to Sam, “How did you?”
Sam embraces Duke, letting him lean on her, “My systematics professor was a Martial arts Master.”
“You learned that in Seminary.” Duke says shocked.
Sam nods.
Evi’s shocked, “Duke married a Reverend?”
“And a darn good one.” A middle aged man says emerging from the bushes, “Haven needs you, I’m Charles Mosley, here to send you back and my grandfather will send me home.”
Younger Duke demands to know, “I’d like to know what’s going on.”
“A time travel trouble, but Jeremy must erase your memories.” Charles says.
Sam realizes, “That’s his trouble.”
Charles nods and looks to younger Duke and Evi, “You don’t want to know the future. Duke can attest to that.”
Both Evi and the younger Duke seem to agree not objecting but weary.
The older Duke asks, “How are we going to get him to do it?”
Charles lifts his hand, on it is Audrey’s engagement ring, “Audrey prepared me for this.”
Sam says “wait.” She puts the board in the ground and covers it up with some dirt as Jeremy begins to stir.

INT. RETIREMENT HOME – MOSLEY’S ROOM - DAY - 2014
Jeremy, Duke, and Sam appear back in Haven in Mosley’s room.
Mosely facing the window, away from them.
Audrey and James, now in his 20s, appear right behind her both are facing the door.
Jeremy escapes in a blur.
Audrey, with a motion of her head singles for Duke and Sam to leave. Leaning on Sam Duke limps away.
Audrey turns to leave and bumps into James, “What are you doing here?”
James, wanting to talk to her away from Mosley motions for Audrey to go into the hall.
In the hall Sam looks over Duke as he sits on the ground in pain.
Audrey seeing Duke runs to him, “Duke? What happened?”
“Hospital?” Duke asks Sam.
Audrey has her phone out and calls, “We need an ambulance at Haven Springs Retirement Home.” Audrey says as James stands behind them wanting to speak but holding his tongue.
EXT. THE GULL RESTURANT – NIGHT
At the Gull that night Dave, Vince, Dwight, and James sit outside laughing.
Audrey approaches with Nathan.
Dwight asks, “How are Duke and Sam?”
Audrey says, “They’re going to be fine.”
Audrey and Nathan pull up chairs.
Dave leans into the table, “Some news, James knows he’s the Colorado kid and he’s immune to the troubles.”
Dwight takes James shoulder proud, “This guy helped save Haven.”
“I was wondering…I know I didn’t.” Audrey says and says, “Thank you.”
James asks Audrey, “You wouldn’t by any chance know how I’m immune? He looks around testing to see if people know.
They shake their heads, “We’ll look into it.” Vince says.
James turns to Audrey and Nathan, “You didn’t really know my mother did you?”
Audrey says, “No, but we knew you.”
James nods, “Well,” he sighs, “I’ll forgive you if you forgive that I lost your engagement ring."
Nathan upset looks to James.
James as if to get out of the doghouse explains, “I gave it to Sarah to protect her. It’s a witch repellent.”
Nathan and Audrey look confused.
Vince adds, “We think because it’s been used as a wedding ring since its original forger Jack Hanson that it’s been imbued with love.”
“Modified some” “Dave adds
Vince nods.
Dwight adds, “It would be nice for Audrey to have it…to protect her from Mavis.”
Vince chuckles, “It’s the same ring we gave back to you, that belonged to Sarah.”
Audrey jumps from her seat, “I have that.”
Nathan is relieved.
Audrey goes to get it and sees Daniel. She stops and approaches him, “Do you want to join us?” She asks him.
Daniel nods, “I’d like that.”
Audrey hugs him, “I trust you. With my life.” Daniel hugs her happily.
INTEROGATION ROOM - 1956
An FBI agent leans against a wall, “You show up in the middle of our FBI sting to find you and you think the tattooed man is after you.”
In 1956, in an interrogation room the murder finishes drawing a map on a yellow piece of paper identical to the one Duke received later.
An FBI agent talks to him with disbelief, “So you were chased by a man with this tattoo.” He says pointing to the picture, “And the secret to getting away is buried on this Island.”
The murderer is adamant, “Yes.”
The FBI agent says, “Ahha.” not believing him.
He stuffs the map in the file.
