S5 E2 "Troublesss" Haven Rewrites

S5 E2 “Troublesss” – Haven is in chaos when multiple troubles activate simultaneously.

 

PREVIOUSLY ON HAVEN;

          Duke believed that Sam was a witch, later, only after telling her “I don’t believe a word you say” did Duke learn she was a victim of the witches and by leaving her, he left her vulnerable to them, since love conquers all.

          None of the witches can be around love, so Audrey is safe with Nathan.

          Daniel, Audrey’s father has arrived in Haven. He’s been living there for about a year.

 

Teaser

FOREST

Surrounded by witches chanting in a circle, Sam, in the center her hands tied with rope tied down in the center, embraces Duke in a kiss.

A loud boom echoes. Sam, as Duke holds her watches dirt fly around, the witches are thrown on their backs.

With ears ringing Sam watches Mavis and the other witches pull themselves up, “Run.” Mavis yells. They run into the forest so fast their bodies are a blur. The police cars pull up, sirens blaring.

 

INT. CAPE ROUGE - MORNING

Sam wakes up in bed on the Cape Rouge, Duke’s boat. Duke enters with breakfast on a tray.

Sam seeing the breakfast sits up happily, “What did I do to deserve this?” Sam asks.

Duke places the tray in front of her, “I’m just glad that you’re alright.”

Sam reaches out and grabs Duke’s hand, “So this is guilt breakfast.”

Duke looks down still feeling guilty and sighs expecting a lecture, “Yeah.” He says.

“Well then I don’t want this…” She puts the tray aside and pulls the sheets off the bed, inviting him to get in, “I want you.”

Duke gladly gets into bed. But as she kisses him he looks at her worried, ruining the mood.

“You want to check my blood again make sure I’m not troubled.” (Troubled blood seeps into Duke’s skin)

Duke shakes his head, “No, I should have believed you.”

She pulls away and sits up looking to Duke, “You know it wouldn’t have happened if I’d been honest with you about what happened to me.”

Duke smiles, “That’s a good point, it’s not all my fault.”

Sam smiles, “No. I know honesty was the problem with you and Evi?” (Duke’s first wife, who is dead)

Duke sighs and pulls away.

Sam continues, “I don’t want to make the same mistakes she did.”

Sam scoots towards Duke, “Let’s make a pact, to always be honest with each other and hear each other out.”

Duke nods and looking into her eyes stroking her face says, “Yeah.”

Sam blurts out, “Kat is one of the witches.”

Duke shocked says, “What? Why didn’t you tell Nathan and Audrey?”

Sam shakes her head, “I want to talk to her first” Sam pleads with Duke, “It’s my sister Duke.”

He lets out a deep sigh, “I’ll go with you.” He says, “after” pulling her close to him.

She giggles as they kiss in bed.

 

INT. GROCERY STORE - DAY

People are shopping, including a woman with a scarf over her head tied like a nice old lady. A man rolls his cart as he looks at labels, and a young African American woman walks down an isle with a basket in her hand.

Suddenly a tan brunette starts to devour the food in front of her wrappings and all.

A woman starts to grab things off the shelf and runs out the door with them, setting off the alarm. The clerk tries to stop her but there’s a scream.

A Hispanic woman screams, terrified backing away yet nothing is in front of her.

In another aisle a man grows quills along his face and starts to shoot them.

The clerk staring outside starts to panic, runs to the door and locks it with his key, just as the woman with the scarf is walking through the parking lot.

 

Act I

EXT. GROCERY STORE - DAY

Audrey and Nathan show up at the scene, no one has shown up on the scene yet. A cop reports that the clerk has them locked inside yet the manager is there to open it. The clerk yells at him as they do. “No, we’re safe here. There’s germs and mean people and cars that hit people.”

The manager swears, “He’s never been paranoid like this.”

Nathan whispers to Audrey, “Trouble.”

Audrey nods and promises the man that he’ll be safe, Nathan and her will make sure of it.

 

INT. GROCERY STORE - DAY

The door unlocked Nathan places his hand on the clerk’s cheeks and heals him, as he does people rush out of the grocery store.

Audrey looks around the store and sees the tan brunette woman who’s eating everything in sight and the Hispanic woman crouched in a corner scared. She taps on Nathan’s shoulder, “Nathan.” He sees what she does and she looks to him. “Is there a trouble that activates troubles?”

They see a man his face covered with dark hair. Nathan steps up to the man. The man looks up his dark hair rises and it turns out its quills on his face.

Nathan backs up and whispers to Audrey, “I’m not touching him.”

Audrey nods, “good call.”

Suddenly there’s a flash from another isle like a lightning strike. Part of the ceiling falls down.

Nathan and Audrey run towards that isle and see the black girl woman, scared lightening erupting from her hands.

Audrey tries to calm her down but she starts to get really anxious, “I don’t think I can hold onto it anymore.”

Nathan announces on the walkie for everyone to get back from the store, “widen the perimeter.”

Audrey and Nathan rush to get everyone out, pulling the tan brunette still eating and the Hispanic girl still terrified out yelling “get out” to everyone else.

 

EARLIER THAT DAY

 

INT. POLICE STATION, CHIEF’S OFFICE – DAY

Daniel sits with Dwight. Dwight leans in towards Daniel, “What happened with Sam?

Daniel leans in and says, “The troubling circle mixed with Duke’s sacrificial love for his wife, his willingness to sacrifice his life, caused the explosion.”

“I’m out of my depth here. You know about the witches.”

Daniel offers, “I’ll tell you what I know but-“

Dwight interrupts, “Where did Mavis go? How do we get her back there?

Daniel shakes his head, “Mavis put herself there, It’s where she’s safe but always watching. She probably knows exactly what to do next. But I’ll tell you what I know maybe we can find a way to defeat her this time.”

Dwight leans in listening, “There’s always four witches, a full coven to perform the troubling. My wife, Mavis is their leader. No power of man has stopped them.”

Dwight asks, “Can you write this all down?”

Daniel nods.

 

INT. POLICE STATION, AUDREY AND NATHAN’S OFFICE – EARLIER THAT DAY

Bulletin boards cover the back wall. They are filled with pictures and notes of the last year. Shelby’s murder, Willow’s, and the sketch of Mavis.

Audrey’s back towards the door. She looks at the bulletin board. “Audrey?” Someone says as if they’re asking.

Audrey turns to look and sees Nathan, at the entrance, “Did you sleep at all?” he asks.

Audrey nods, “Really well actually.” She says as she takes the coffee and hands her and stares at back at the boards.

Nathan stares at her.

Without looking at him Audrey says, “Stop staring. I’m fine really. I…” she takes a deep breath, “I survived it. I’m okay.”

Nathan nods and looks to the boards, “So what have you found?”

Audrey points to the picture of Shelby, “Shelby was the witches’ first victim. We know that because of the mark.”

A picture of the fan symbol is under Shelby’s picture.

“What does it mean?” Nathan asks.

Audrey shrugs and continues, ”Shelby was also Willow’s roommate, who we know was a witch because she was found dead with the symbol on her for the ceremony. So, Willow killed Shelby.”

Nathan nods.

Audrey stares at the board some more, “I just don’t understand why?”

Nathan looks at the board. Say, “hu?” he focuses on a picture of Daniel taped up to a white board and the words ‘Audrey’s father’ underneath with a question mark. Pointing to the question mark he looks to Audrey asking her what that’s doing there.

Audrey shrugs, “I trust him but…”

Nathan quickly turns to her, “he was stabbed saving your life.” Leaning in Nathan quietly says, “And he knew about 1955 and wasn’t that happy about it.”

“But he’s been here a year, why didn’t he come to me?”

From behind Audrey a voice says, “If I had she would have known who you were.”

Nathan turns to see Daniel in the doorway. Sensing the tension in the room says, “I’m going to get some coffee.”

Audrey looks to Daniel as Nathan leaves. Daniel walks in, “I took the early morning shift at the gull…” Daniel says. He flashes back to;

 

INT. GULL (FLASHBACK)

Daniel works early in the bar cleaning the dishes for the day as he continues to narrate, “to watch you come down in the morning.”

Daniel watches as Audrey comes down the steps from her apartment above the Gull, grabbing her stuff awkwardly a hair tie in her mouth as she does her hair.

 

INT. POLICE STATION, AUDREY AND NATHAN’S OFFICE – BACK TO SCENE

Daniel looks to Audrey, Audrey looks down a little creped out.

Daniel smiles, “This is where you’d say, ‘Father that is absolutely inappropriate, you were spying and I feel my privacy has been violated.”

Audrey smiles, “creeped out…works too.” Audrey sighs.

Daniel steps up to her and opens his mouth to speak but closes his mouth deciding not to. He pivots and looks to the boards, “I remember doing this in my day.”

Audrey looks at him skeptical.

He continues, “We didn’t have pictures but sketches...and notes scratched on parchment. We would attempt to discover who the troubled person was and help them.”

“Really?” Audrey asks.

Daniel nods, “You’d help me sometimes when you were young. You were better at it than me.”

Audrey smiles but her smile quickly fades, “Why did I have to forget?” She asks, “Why did I always come back with a new personality each time?”

Daniel sighs, “So your mother wouldn’t discover who you were. Last she’d seen you, you were ten. I wanted to hide you from her, you wanted to help them so we did both. Every time you showed she’d have to start from scratch to discover who you were by the time you returned to the barn, she wouldn’t have enough.”

Audrey demands to know, “How did I end up in the barn in the first place?”

Daniela sighs, “I can’t tell you that story, not yet.”

Audrey turns from him upset. He puts his hand on her arm, “Everything I’ve done has been to protect you.”

Dwight yells, “Nathan, Audrey, Grocery store!”

Audrey places the coffee on her desk and storming out says, “I have to get to work.”

 

EXT. GROCERY STORE – DAY –BACK TO PRESENT

          As Audrey, Nathan, with the tan brunette and the Hispanic girl run out of the grocery store there’s a large lightning strike and the ceiling caves in.

The Hispanic girls, scared runs down the street. Nathan and Audrey run after her.

 

INT. THE GULL

Daniel standing behind the bar at the Gull as he cleans the dishes preparing for the day hears thunder.

“What was that?” he says to himself.

Mavis walks in “Sounds like a trouble.” She says and smiles.

Daniel stops cleaning and looks to Mavis.

Mavis says, “Hi honey I’m home.”

 

Act II

INT. GULL

Mavis stands in front of Daniel, who stands behind the bar.

Daniel asks “what are you doing here?”

Mavis leans against the bar, “I’m not going to kill you, that wouldn’t win me any points with our daughter.”

Daniel calm but tense keeps his eyes on her, “You tried before.”

Mavis sits at the bar and plays with the peanuts, “She didn’t know who you were then and you got in my way. Don’t do that again.”

Daniel stays calm as he says, “She’s not here.”

Mavis nods, “I wanted to talk to you.”

Mavis tries to touch his face as if lovingly but he pulls away ready to jump the bar. Mavis backs away and steps towards the exit, “You know, she’s going to figure out what you did to her.”

Daniel takes a deep breath, “I’m not going anywhere.”

Mavis smiles, “Of course not. This is going to be a good show.”

 

STREETS

The Hispanic girl, still scared runs down the street as Nathan and Audrey run after her separating to try and cut her off. She runs through a backyard and into a crowded book fair where Audrey and Nathan meet up again but lose her in the crowd. Nathan puts his mouth to his walkie, “All units be on the lookout for a Hispanic woman…”

 

EXT. GROCERY STORE - DAY

In front of the grocery store with uniformed police around, and James directing clean up Dwight tells James he’s going to take “her” back to the station, referring to the tan brunette who continues eating as police get her into a police car. James assures him he’ll have everything cleaned up in a couple days.

 

INT. POLICE STATION, RECEPTION AREA - DAY

The tan girl eating everything sits on a police stool still eating. Dwight hands her a drink. She grabs it and drink.

He places a trash can in front of her face.

She throws up in the trash can and then continues eating the food in front of her.

Dwight turns to Stan and places a container of ipecac on Stan’s desk next to the tan brunette, “give her one every 20 minutes.” He says.

Stan nods, “will do chief.”

LATER

Audrey and Nathan arrive back at the police station. Telling Stan they’re going to question her they pull the tan brunette, who continues eating, into the interrogation room.

INTERROGATION ROOM

As Nathan puts his hands on the tan brunet to heal her she tries to bite him. Audrey shoves a piece of bread in her mouth and he heals her.

She drops the loaf of bread she’s eating appalled, “Was I eating carbs?

Audrey patiently asks, “Do you know what happened to you?

INT. POLICE STATION, RECEPTION AREA - DAY

Daniel walks into the police station. “Where’s Audrey?” he asks.

Stan points to the interrogation room and says, “but they’re in the middle of…” Daniel burst into the interrogation room.

INTERROGATION ROOM

Audrey and Nathan turns to the open door and see Daniel. The tan brunette looking down says, “I don’t know what happened I felt this weird coldness…”

Daniel blurts out, “it was Mavis” He turns to the woman, “a woman touched you,”

The tan girl nods, “Yes.”

Daniel turns to Audrey and Nathan, “She can activate the troubles. We could have a lot more troubled people out there.”

Audrey turns to a rookie, “We need that tape for the grocery store.” She demands.

The cop responds, “Sure.”

 

INT. POLICE STATION - AUDREY AND NATHAN’S OFFICE - DAY

Audrey puts the VHS in the VCR, sitting on a dolly on wheels and plays the video.

Nathan, Daniel, and Audrey watch.

Watching Audrey says, “Oh my gosh.”

Nathan too is shocked, stands up a bit straighter.

Daniel says, “We’re going to need some help.”

 

 

Act III

INT. POLICE STATION – AUDREY AND NATHAN’S OFFICE - DAY

          Sam, Duke, James, Dwight, Daniel, Vince, and Dave stand in front of Audrey and Nathan. The TV between them.

Audrey stands by the TV and explains, “We need you all here to track down the troubled people on this video.”

Nathan steps forward, “We’ll be doing this in groups of two and no one leaves until every troubled person on this video is assigned to someone”.

Duke and Sam take hands.

James stands next to Dwight and look to each other. Dwight nods.

Dave and Vince look to each other.

Daniel is all alone, “I can go alone. I’ve done this before.”

Audrey sighs, “alright?”

Playing the video showing each person Audrey first introduces porcupine guy, a guy who throws quills from his neck.

Dwight volunteers to take him, “I’ve been shot a few times I think I can handle this.”

Nathan introduces scared girl (who cowered in the store) and Sam agrees to go after her, “She’s one of my congregation I know her.”

Audrey introduces lightening girl (the black woman who made the lighting strike inside the store), which Audrey doesn’t know what to do about as is evident by the tone of her voice.

To Audery’s surprise Vince raises his hand. “There’s someone in the guard who absorbs lightening I can talk to him.”

Audrey says, “Hu? Nice.”

Nathan introduces the woman who steels, “she’s been spotted around shops all around Main Street.”

Dave raises his hand.

Vince objects, “Dave”

Dave argues, “She’s a tiny little thing, I think we can take her.” Vince reluctantly agrees.

Then Audrey introduces a man who is acting crazy, face contorted flailing his arms about stressed as if his movements are not by his own desire.

Sam recognizes that it’s Jeremy, Kat’s boyfriend. She whispers this to Duke, “We’ll take him.” Duke volunteers.

Audrey than says, “The last one is Mr. Day. Mrs. Day has said her husband came home from the store last night acting paranoid. Who wants to take him?”

Daniel raises his hand.

Audrey nods.

Audrey and Nathan dismiss them telling them Nathan will be there to heal those they bring back.

Dave looks to Audrey, “What about you?” he objects. “I’ll be figuring out what this is?” Audrey plays the video and as the video stays level the people in the store slide across the floor.

Audrey sits in front of a large stack of files. Sam nods pleased that’s not her job, “We’ll be going then.”

INT. POLICE STATION –RECEPTION AREA - DAY

As Vince and Dave leave into the main room of the police station Nathan runs after them. Daniel watches. “Vince, Dave, can I have the ring I gave you?” he whispers to them.

Daniel overhears. “The one for Audrey.” Dave asks.

Nathan nods, “Did you ever find out how it got me out of the room Mavis trapped me in?”

Vince shakes his head. “No.”

Dave goes on, “We looked into its history and all we found was how it’s been used as a wedding band for centuries.

“I’d like it back.” Nathan says.

Dave nods, “Come by the Herald after this.”

As Nathan turns back to the office Daniel, hiding that he was ease-dropping walks out of the station.

 

INT. DWIGHT’S TRUCK – DAY

Dwight and James get into his truck. James says, “He’s been seen in Avery Park.”

Dwight says, “Let’s make a stop first. We’ll need to pick some things.”

 

EXT. HOUSE - DAY

A house with a red door, Sam and Duke arrive as Sam explains. “She feels safest in her house.”

Duke nods.

Sam motions for Duke to pick the lock.

Duke picks the lock.

 

EXT. LOG CABIN - DAY

A Hispanic man standing in a forest by a log cabins gets a call on a military grade phone, wrapped in rubber. Vince is on the other end, “Ricky I need a favor.”

 

MAIN STREET - DAY

Vince, accompanying Dave, talks through his phone, “there’s a girl who is causing lightening to strikes, African American. You’ll probably have no trouble finding her.”

Main Street seems calm and quiet. Vince helps the phone away from his mouth and looks to Dave, “Maybe we should go to her address.” Vince says speaking about the other woman.

Dave sighs, “No, she was here.”

 

EXT. LOG CABIN – DAY

          The Hispanic man, sees lightening coming towards him. He’s struck but only lights up. “Yeah, no problem.” He says and hangs up the phone.

 

INT. HOUSE - DAY

As Sam and Duke enter the house Sam calls out to Maria, trying to cox her out.

Sam finds her upstairs in her bedroom. “Leave me alone.”

She demands terrified that Sam is judging her.

Sam tries to explain that they’re there because they care about her. “I love you Maria.”

Maria shakes her head, “no you don’t” Maria says angry and charges to attack Sam.

Duke is about to step in the way when Sam punches Maria knocking her out.

Sam motions for Duke to carry her.

Duke looks down at Maria unconscious, “I know exactly what Nathan’s going to say about this.”

 

INT. POLICE STATION – RECEPTION AREA - DAY

          Looking at the unconscious Maria Nathan says, “I always knew you’d end up here with an unconscious woman.”

Duke stands as he places Maria on the table for Nathan to heal. “And that’s it.” Duke says to Sam beside him.

Sam takes out a twenty and hands it to Duke saying, “dang it.” She turns to Nathan, “you should have more faith in him after all you’ve been through.”

Nathan shakes his head. Nathan leans in and heals Maria.

Duke starts to head out again saying, “We have to find a crazy guy.” As Sam and Duke head out again, through the open doors Sam sees Audrey in her office working.

 

INT. HAROLD - DAY

The Harold is trashed as the paranoid man is looking through things.

Daniel says, “I thought I’d find you here.”

The paranoid man ignores him muttering, “They’re hiding everything.” He says.

Daniel steps over stuff strewn about the room, and looks down at a ring, Nathan’s ring.

 

FOREST

Dwight and James track porcupine quills through the forest, footprints leading into more wooded areas. They carry homemade shields strapped to their arms.

They see porcupine guy. “We can help you.” Dwight says.

Porcupine guy runs throwing quills at them.

They use their shields to dodge the quills.

 

DOCK

An Armenian man runs towards the docks terrified. As he steps on it the other side, the side out in the water begins to tilt toward him and people slide down holding on for dear life. A man can’t hang on and runs into a tree cracking his head open, dead.

 

Act IV

INT. NATHAN’S TRUCK – MOVING - DAY

Sirens Blaring Nathan drives as Audrey clings to the dash, “We have to get to the docks. I think Erick’s some sort of weight, when he’s on one side of something the other side lifts up.”

 

EXT. JEREMY’S APARTMENT - DAY

Sam and Duke arrive at Jeremy’s apartment. “This is where I would go if I was nuts.” Sam says.

Duke nocks and quickly moves to break in.

But Jeremy opens the door normal.

Sam asks, “Are you alright, you were at the grocery store.”

“Yeah, I was just there a moment before, it was freaky to hear about that.” Jeremy says. A bag of groceries in on the counter behind him.

Sam asks if he’s seen or talked to Kat recently, “Her apartment is cleared out and she’s not answering her phone.”

He shakes his head, “I was going to call, I haven’t heard from her either. I was worried. Is she okay?”

Sam says she might be in some trouble and to call her if he hears from her.

Jeremy nods, “I will.”

Sam’s phone rings, eagerly she gets it.

Dave, over the phone says, “Sam.”

 

MAIN STREET

          Dave, the phone to his ear watches a man acting funny, his face changes from one person’s to the next.

          Over the phone he says, “I think you’re crazy guy is on main street, by the gazebo.”

 

EXT. JEREMY’S APARTMENT – DAY

          Sam turns back to Duke, “We have to go.”

          They head out.

 

INT. JEREMY’S APARTMENT - DAY

Jeremy walks into the bedroom where Kat lays in bed. “Your sister came by asking about you.” He tells her.

Kat sarcastically says, “how sweet.” She walks up to Jeremy and in a sultry fashion leans up against him, “you told her I wasn’t here.”

Jeremy smiles, “of course.”

Kat smiles and pats her finger against his nose. He takes a hold of her and says, “this isn’t for free Kat.”

She smiles, “of course not.” She kisses him deeply and pulls him into the bed.

 

INT. HOUSE - DAY

Dave and Vince enter a house as a teenage boy thanks them for coming, “my sister is acting crazy. She’s always been a bit selfish but this is insane.”

They approach the main living area and find boxes and boxes of merchandise, jewelry strewn around the room, and food everywhere.

The brother continues, “She even tried to hit on me. It was creepy.” He says and shivers.

“Hit on you?” Dave questions Vince.

Vince shakes his head and says, “I don’t like that look.”

Dave walks over to the woman in the living room eating, “so little lady?” Dave stands attempting to look sexy but failing miserably.

Vince shakes his head, “This is so…wrong.”

The woman looks up to Dave and smiles and approaches him sensually.

A dart hits the woman and she falls down, unconscious.

Dave complains, “Now we’re going to have to carry her?” Dave complains.

Vince comments, “I think that’s better than the alternative.”

The teenage brother nods.

 

MAIN STREET – GAZIBO

The crazy man continuing to change from different people, mirroring what’s around him.

Duke and Sam pull up in his jeep and jump out.

Sam watches the man. He mimics the people around him, laughing. As a bicycle roles by starts to peddle with his feet.

Sam and Duke watching from afar, Sam puts her hand on Duke’s shoulder, “Wait. Watch him but don’t approach.” She says and turns back to the shops.

Duke watches as she runs inside a dress shop, “Sam, Sam.” He turns to the man, acting weird, mirroring the people around him, “I don’t like this.” He says.

Sam comes out with a large mirror, she approaches the man and places it between him and her.

The crazy person turn into a black guy. “Thank you. Thank you.” He says. “I couldn’t do anything but what other people did and I couldn’t control it.”

Duke asks, “Come with us, we can help.”

          Sam, behind the mirror says, “Just keep looking at the mirror I’ll walk in front of you.”

 

INT. NATHAN’S TRUCK – MOVING – DAY

Audrey and Nathan pull up to the dock and see the dock tilting towards the shore, with the man at the end near the shore. Audrey again says, “Oh my gosh.”

 

Act V

DOCK

Audrey and Nathan get out of the car watching the dock tilting towards the shore, Erick near the shore end.

Audrey sees the Armenian, terrified try to run.

Nathan sees the man as well.

The dock moves down back into the water but then rises again this time pulling the land side up towards the water.

Nathan yells, “Erick!”

DOCK

As the Armenian man, Erick, runs towards them.

The man looks back, stopping for a moment and the dock stops rising.

But then the man, amidst the panic, runs towards the water’s end of the dock.

          As Audrey watches as the dock raises out of the ground, she runs and crawls over it.

Nathan follows but can’t get over it, it’s too tall.

Audrey slides down the dock and yells, “Erick! Stop! We can help you!”

Amidst the screaming as people slide, Erick keeps running.

Audrey, slides down and begins to run after him.

          Audrey running on a slanted dock, grabs the Armenian guy as he reaches the end of the dock, “Stop!” she yells, “I can help you!”

          The Armenian guy blubbering says, “No one can help me.”

          Audrey says, “I can” she holds out her hand, “trust me. I deal with the troubles all the time.”

          The man takes her hand.

          Audrey, running with the man leads the man back towards the land, watching as the dock slowly starts to come back down.

          Nathan watches as the wall in front of him, the underside of the dock starts to lower.

          Over the walkie he hears Audrey say, “Nathan we need you, meet us in the center.”

LATER

The dock level, Audrey and the Armenian stand in the center, as Nathan approaches him, putting his hand on him.

INT. POLICE STATION – RECEPTION AREA - DAY

Everyone is back but Daniel.

Dave and Vince standing around as Dave’s date leaves with her brother ashamed.

The black man thanks Sam and Duke and leaves too.

Nathan sits down tired.

Dwight and James enter saying they took care of the porcupine man.

FLASHBACK; FOREST

          Dwight throws him a dirt bickers helmet. He puts it on and the quills are covered.

INT. POLICE STATION - BACK TO SCENE - DAY

          Audrey nods to Dwight, “That’s almost everyone.”

She turns to Vince and Dave, “Have you heard from the lightening woman?” Vince smiles, “I don’t know we will.”

FLASHBACK; FOREST

          The Hispanic man approaches the African American woman. She’s terrified.

“I can help you.” He says holding his hand out to her.

She turns to him angry, “You can’t help me.” Realizing she’s going to strike him she tries to stop it but he’s hit with the lightening and nothing happens. “You’re alright?” she questions surprised.

“It’s my trouble. I just can’t be around anyone else.”

Saddened the African American woman states, “You lost someone.”

He nods. “I have a cabin a few miles from here.” He holds out his hand. The black girl takes it, lighting it up.

INT. POLICE STATION – BACK TO SCENE – DAY

          Vince assures Audrey, “They’ll stay away from populated areas.”

Audrey nods, “Okay.”

Daniel enters, carrying the paranoid man, “Someone help!” he yells. Dwight and Nathan help out as Daniel says, “I’ve been trying to get him here all day.”

Duke says, “You could have called.”

Daniel says, “Oh right? Cell phones.”

          Everyone is surprised.

As Nathan heals the man, Sam asks, “If this was Mavis’ doing how is it we’re going to prevent her from doing this in the future?”

Daniel speaks up, “I had an idea about that.”

INT. CAVE – NIGHT

A television in a dark cave plays the news, a picture of Mavis on the screen. An announcer says, “this woman is a terrorist, extremely dangerous if you see her do not let her touch you. She already poisoned a group of people in a small town in Mane in a grocery store with a strong hallucinogen.”

Mavis, standing in the cave fumes, “well game on.”

INT. POLICE STATION - DAY

Daniel says, “Mavis is extremely vain, needs credit for what she does, she also likes the thrill of a challenge.”

Duke comments, “What I don’t understand is, ‘how she knew none of the troubles she activated wouldn’t kill her?”

Audrey looks to her board across the room through the door to her office, “Willow.” Audrey says and looks to the group, “She was compiling the database of troubled people.”

Dave shakes his head, “We don’t even have a copy.”

Vince, “But it’s probably in Willow’s things, we’ll find it.”

Everyone parts ready to depart.

ASIDE

Sam steps up to Audrey, “Could I view the footage of the grocery store.”

Audrey says, “Sure. I can set you up at a desk.” She looks to an empty desk and then tells Sam to follow her, she’ll set her up out there.

ASIDE

          Daniel looks to Nathan, “Found him trashing the Harold, thought Dave and Vince were hiding the truth of Haven.”

          Nathan nods. “Found something on the floor.” Daniel holds up the ring.

          Nathan takes the ring and looks down, “I realize I didn’t ask you-“

“Go ask her.” Daniel says like it’s a command.

“Thanks.” Nathan takes the ring and walks over to Audrey as she helps Sam at the computer.

Audrey tells Sam, “the footage has been downloaded.”

Audrey looks to Nathan and says, “Ready to go home?”

“I have something for you.” Nathan says.

“Yeah,” Audrey says with a smile.

Nathan goes down on one knee she stops. Everyone in the room stares.

Nathan begins a speech, “I’ve wanted to ask you this for the last few months. I’ve known for years, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Audrey Parker will you marry me?” He holds up the ring.

Audrey smiles, “Yes, yes.”

Nathan rises and takes her hand and puts the ring on it. They kiss deeply.

Suddenly Nathan starts to get light headed and falls on the ground. Audrey rushes to him, “Nathan, Nathan.”
