S5 E7 “Haven, 10pm/9pm central” – After a girl goes missing Audrey finds herself in an alternate reality where Haven is a TV show and she’s no longer protected by Nathan and Daniel.

 

Previously on Haven;

          Audrey has learned that James is her son, and tried to help him find his mother. Yet James learned that Audrey and Nathan were his parents from an alternate timeline.   

As troubled blood touches Duke’s skin he absorbs it and his eyes turn silver, giving him super strength.

          In a damp cave Mavis holds a teenage girl hostage, her long hair drapes down.

PARK - NIGHT

As “12 hours earlier” is displayed on the screen a teenage girl walks through the park fog all around.

There’s footsteps behind her. She turns and jumps startled.

In front of her stands a teenage boy.

“Barry, you sacred me.” The teen girl says. She turns back around and screams.

PARK - MORNING

The next morning Audrey and Nathan are at the scene, tape around the area. Blood on the ground. Nathan is with the parents.

Audrey is talking to Barry, the teenage boy, “I saw her here last night while we were walking home. I thought she got home.” He says.

“Let us know if you remember anything else.” Audrey says and turns away as Barry leaves.

          Audrey walks over to Nathan as he walks over to her, “She never made it home last night.” Nathan says.

Daniel comes over to Audrey and Nathan, “You have to hear this guy.”

Daniel turns to reveal he’s talking to a homeless man, who is dirty and unkempt. He hides in the bushes.

Nathan sighs, “Eddie doesn’t like cops.”

Daniel turns to Nathan and says, “Maybe he just doesn’t like you.”

As Nathan smirks Daniel leads them over to Eddie, the homeless man. Nathan trails behind uttering under his breath, “He was a lot nicer with a trouble.”

Daniel asks Eddie, “Tell them what you told me.”

“I saw big foot.” Eddie says.

Nathan rolls his eyes and walks away. Eddie says, “I swear I saw him.” He insists.

As Audrey walks over to Nathan disappointed in him, Daniel pats Eddie on the back, “We believe you.”

Audrey with Nathan says, “You know there’s such thing as a big foot.”

Nathan annoyed says, “Eddie saw a unicorn the other day.”

Daniel comes up to them just as Dwight does. Daniel interrupts, “A Sasquatch must have come of age. She managed to call it to take Rene.”

Dwight asks, “Why would Mavis take Rene?”

Nathan surprised says, “Mavis can call a Sasquatch now?”

Dwight turns to Audrey, “Sasquatch are Mavis’s muscle. Didn’t you read the binder I copied for you?”

Nathan shakes his head indicating he didn’t.

Dwight’s disappointed, “Nathan, you need to read it.”

Looking to Audrey gleefully as their new matching wedding bands glisten in the sun Nathan gleefully says, “Sorry, I’ve been kind of busy.”

Daniel punches Nathan.

Nathan falls on his back.

“I’ve wanted to do that for years.” Daniel yells.

Audrey jumps surprised.

Dwight looks over to Rene’s parents and stands between Nathan and them as if trying to hide the scene they just made. “That’s it, you’re both off the case.” Dwight says looking to Daniel and Nathan. He turns to Nathan, “Now you’ll have time to read the binder.” He turns to Audrey, “Audrey, you’ll be investigating with James.”

Nathan gets up, looks to Dwight to object, “Wait. He punched me.”

Audrey shakes her head at him, “You deserved is.” Audrey tells Nathan, “Stop being an ass.”

 

“TWO DAYS LATER”

INT. NATHAN’S HOUSE – BEDROOM - NIGHT

Late at night Nathan lays in bed asleep with the binder open. Audrey, in her pajamas comes in and removes it. He stirs, “Any luck with Rene.”

Audrey shakes her head, “She’s still missing. I just need to sleep.” She crawls into bed. He embraces her.

INT. BEDROOM - MORNING

Audrey wakes up to the sound of workmen. She looks toward her bedroom window and notices the wall is missing and the house is actually inside a large warehouse.

A women with a headset comes up to her, “Rose, you need to start your read-through.”

Audrey looks around confused and then she sees a sign with Duke, Sam, Dwight, Nathan, Audrey, Vince, Dave, Daniel, and James on it. It reads Haven, New Episode 10pm-9pm central on the syfy network. Audrey is confused, “Haven’s a TV show.” She says in shock.

 

Act I

INT. SET OF HAVEN THE TV SHOW- NATHAN’S BEDROOM STAGE - DAY

Audrey shocked that Haven is a TV show repeats “Haven, is a TV show.”

The women with the headset says, “Yes, and you’re the lead. They can’t very well do the read through without you. You’ve never been late. I know you like to do all this method acting but do you really need to sleep in Audrey and Nathan’s bed.”

Audrey hearing Nathan’s name says it, “Nathan, he’ll be there. At the reading.”

The women with the headset nods, “Brian will be there.”

Audrey asks which way, the women points towards a door and Audrey goes through it. As the women removes the sheets she whispers under her mouth, “Method actors.” as if annoyed.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

Audrey walks into a room where Sam, Duke, Brian/Nathan, Vince, Dave, and Dwight are. They hold scripts in their hand.

Vince and Dave are bickering about the ergonomic chairs, fighting over one.

Audrey sighs, “Well, some things never change.”

Dwight brings them another ergonomic chair, “Guys.” 

Sam is smoking in the corner looking pissed.

Duke is talking to Nathan and they’re laughing.

Audrey walks up to Nathan as he tells Duke, “So, I’m going in for a call back.”

Duke slaps him on the arm, “That’s great.”

Audrey says, “Hey,” smitten with Nathan.

Brian/Nathan says, “Hey Rose” and turns back to Duke, “It’s no alien disaster movie.”

Duke responds, “You’re getting out there.”

Brian hopeful says, “I’m hoping to get into movies.”

Daniel comes up to Audrey, who is ignored by Nathan.

Daniel says, “Hey little Lady.” Audrey hugs him.

Daniel’s hand moves to her rear as he says, “Dinner tonight my place.” In a sexy manner.

Audrey pulls away her mouth open in shock, she doesn’t know what to say.

Duke comes over, “She’s not interested William.”

Duke pulls Audrey away, “Sit next to me.” He says and places her next to him.

Audrey thanks him.

He nods, “What are friends for. You think William would have been cast as a villain.” Duke says.

A middle age man comes in, “we’re going to get started. Molly I’ve told you. You can’t smoke in here.”

Sam slinks over to the table, “Fine.” She says glaring at the man.

Duke utters under his breath, “Bitch.”

Audrey is shocked, “What’s wrong with Sam?”

Duke says, “Don’t get me started. Ever since she arrived the producers treat me like I’m a piece of meat. Duke’s character is so much more than that.”

Audrey nods, “He’s a good friend and the proprietor of the Gull.”

Duke smiles happily nodding, “Would you go in with me later to talk to the producers?”

Audrey nods, “Sure. Can you do me a favor-”

Duke looks to her willing.

But the middle aged man says, “We’re going to start now, Brian.”

Everyone pulls out their script.

Audrey looks around annoyed she forgot, Duke offers to share, “You probably memorized your lines anyway.”

The middle aged man having read the description of the scene as at the storage lockers/a crimes scene he turns to Brian/Nathan.

Brian reads, “Last night someone was murdered?”

Duke reads dramatically, “Please tell me not my storage unit.”

Audrey without looking at the scene says, “What is Duke doing here?”

Brian continues, “Sweetie he was the one to make the call.”

Duke reads, “Things just didn’t look right.”

Audrey says without reading, “Don’t call me sweetie.”

Duke laughs.

Brain reads, “I was trying it and it didn’t work.”

Audrey looks at the script realizing that she’s getting stuff right without looking.

EXT. STUDIO – DAY

          James stands by the gate talking to a guard.

The guard says, “You don’t have access Teddy.”

“Please, I just need to talk to Audrey.” James pleads.

“Rose took out a restraining order, you’re not welcome here. They killed your character off for this reason.”

James shakes his head, “No, this isn’t right.” He looks to the poster of the Haven TV show with Audrey, Nathan, and Duke on it.

The guard sternly says, “If you don’t leave Teddy, I’m going to call the police.”

James leaves and looks to the gate surrounding the studio.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

They continue to read through, “We learned something from that though.” Molly/Sam says. “I have a feeling you’re going to tell us what?”

Brian/Nathan says. “We shouldn’t do things on our own but together.”

The middle aged man says, “Fade out.”

Audrey is happy, “This is great isn’t it? Our lives aren’t like this.” She says holding up the script and continues, “There’s no troubles-“

Molly/Sam slowly says, “Cause it’s really unrealistic.”

Audrey just keeps going. “Doesn’t it make you appreciate life?”

They all stare at her, the middle aged man asks, “Rose, what’s wrong? Are you dying?”

Audrey shakes her head, “No, not that I know of.”

Vince chimes in, “You’re so cheery, you’re never cheery. It’s weird.”

The women with the headphones comes in, “Rose, you have to get to the show.”

Audrey looks up oblivious.

“The TV interview” the woman reminds her. She pulls Rose/Audrey out.

The middle aged man says, “Well, maybe some cheer will do her some good there.”

INT. TALK SHOW STAGE - DAY

The talk show host sitting on one of a pair of arm chairs looks to an audience, “Today we have Rose Emly as our guest, star of the TV show Haven.”

          Audrey enters and everyone claps, surprised she sits.

“So, Rose, you play Audrey Parker on the show Haven.”

Audrey responds, “That’s what they tell me.”

The host and Audience laughs.

“Funny.” The host says,

“How is it that you can play such a complicated character?”

Audrey responds, “I sometimes feel like I am Audrey Parker. I just try to feel what it’s like to be her.”

The host turns to the cameras, “Well some of the audience members, here and at home have some questions for you.”

The host goes to someone in the audience, a young women who speaks into the microphone, “I am such a huge fan of Haven, I just love Audrey’s character like the time she chucked those flowers into the ocean after the roots nearly killed you, when you were dating Chris.”

Audrey sits uncomfortable, pulling at her skirt realizing people know intimate details of her life.

“I just wanted to know.” The fan continues, “We love the romance between you and Nathan. Are you and Brian Lukes a thing in real life?”

Audrey smiles, “Well yes, there might be something?”

INT. STUDIO HALLWAY - DAY

On set Brian/Nathan gets mad at Audrey, “How could you do that?”

Audrey is confused, “Do what?”

“Tell the world there was something between us. There’s nothing between us, my wife is calling me every fifteen minutes.”

His cell phone rings, “That’s her. You’re going to fix this.”

He takes the call and walks away saying, “Honey, I swear there’s nothing going on…I was just talking to her.”

Audrey’s in shock, “Wife?” she says as she looks deflated. She plays with the ring on her finger, “You really like to stay in character.” Duke says from behind.

Audrey looks at him confused.

Duke points to the ring she’s wearing.

Audrey sees it, “Yeah.” She looks like she’s about to cry.

A tech guy from the hall walks down, “Hey Rufus.” He says as he passes.

“Hey Max, poker tonight?” Rufus/Duke says.

The guy nods on his way through the hall.

Duke walks up to Rose/Audrey, “The producers might write Brian off the show and he might not get his movie deal because of what you did.”

Audrey sighs, “I didn’t know.” She looks up to Duke, “Are they happy Brian and his wife?”

Rufus/Duke nods, “Yeah, she’s nice.”

Audrey looks at her phone and sighs. “No one called me? I’m all alone.”

Rufus/Duke says, “You have Chipper.”

Audrey looks at him confused.

Rufus/Duke confused with her explains slowly unsure and concerned as to why he has to, “Your Maltese you carry around in a little purse.”

Audrey sighs annoyed, “I have to fix this will you go with me to the producers?”

Rufus/Duke nods, “Sure.”

As they walk he says, “I know exactly what to say to the press. I’ve had my fair share of mess ups.”

INT. DRESSING ROOM – DAY

          Brian/Nathan with the phone to his ear paces, “Honey, nothing is going on.”

INT. APARTMENT KITCHEN - DAY

          “I only let you work with her because you said it was over.” Brian/Nathan’s wife says—it’s Kat, Sam’s sister and one of the witches.

Brian/Nathan begs, “Please believe me.”

INT. OFFICE - DAY

They walk into an office, “Malcom.” Rufus/Duke says to the middle aged man who was at the read through, “Rose wanted to talk about the talk show mess up.”

Audrey/Rose steps in front of the desk, putting her whole weight on it, “Please don’t take Nathan off the show. Brian.” She corrects.

Malcom responds, “The executive producers have already decided. His contract is up after this episode. I don’t like it either, you need to talk to Benedicta.”

Malcom clears some papers off the desk picking them up to leave – the desk is not his. Malcom walks to the exit behind Audrey/Rose and Rufus/Duke as the door opens behind them.

Audrey/Rose looks off worried.

“Oh, here she is.” Malcom says and leaves as Audrey turns around she sees its Mavis, “You.” Audrey says shocked, “You’re the executive producer?”

Mavis smiles, “Yes I am.”

 

Act II

INT. OFFICE - DAY

Mavis looks at Audrey/Rose with a malevolent grin.

Audrey is fuming.

Mavis looks to Rufus/Duke, “Rufus do you mind giving me and Rose some privacy.”

Audrey turns to him and says, “No, don’t.”

Rufus/Duke with an apologetic look in his eyes lowers his head to Benedicta/Mavis as if he’s bowing to royalty – this women has power. He walks out. The door closes behind him.

Audrey looking sternly to Mavis says, “I should have known you were behind this.”

Mavis sighs, “Oh my daughter, when are you going to learn all I’ve ever wanted was for you to be under my wing. And I’m not stopping until that happens.”

Audrey challenges her, “You can’t do anything here, the troubles are gone.”

Mavis nods, “True but that doesn’t mean I can’t hurt them. Starting with your precious Nathan.”

Audrey nods, “Fine, kick him off the show. Maybe his wife leaves him. At least he’ll be safe.”

Mavis chuckles.

Audrey hears a chuckle from behind her.

Through a secret door Kat walks in, “Originally,” Kat says as she pours a glass of Cognac, “Mavis did this simply to get me free from custody but I’ve got a great gig now.” She holds up her hand, a wedding and engagement ring on her finger, “I’m Mrs. Brian Lukes, Nathan’s wife.”

Audrey declares, “But you can’t be around love.”

Kat nods, “True but our relationship isn’t based on love. It’s based on guilt. He owes me, for cheating on me with you so he treats you like the plague and I keep reminding him he owes me, every single moment.”

Audrey fumes.

“Unless…” Mavis adds, “You join us.”

Audrey looks around, sees awards on the wall by Mavis’ desk.

Mavis turns to Kat, “that will be all.”

Kat leaves by the same secret entrance she came through.

Audrey picks up an award. As Mavis approaches her looking to her Audrey says, “You even made up that you won awards.”

Mavis looks down at it with pride. Audrey lifting the award strikes Mavis with it. Mavis falls to the ground.

Audrey runs out.

INT. OFFICE HALLWAY - DAY

Out in the hall, Audrey grabs Rufus/Duke, ‘We have to get out of here.” She says and rushes him away. He follows her as she says, “We have to find Brian.”

INT. OFFICE – DAY

In the office, Mavis on the ground. She recalls Audrey hitting her.

INT. CAR (MOVING – OFFICE PARKING LOT

Audrey and Rufus/Duke are in the car. Audrey is agitated, “We have to find Brian.”

Rufus/Duke is confused, “You’re going to tell me what this is about?”

As they stop at a stop sign James pounds on the car, “Audrey.” He says.

Audrey’s exited, “James.” She says and gets out of the car.

Rufus/Duke starts to object, “Rose he….” He shakes his head, “Never mind.”

EXT. CAR – OFFICE PARKING LOT

          Audrey hugs James, “Are you alright?”

          “I am now that I found you.” James says, “I thought you were with Mavis.”

          She shakes her head, “No, but Nathan’s in trouble.”

          A car honks behind Rufus/Duke. Duke puts down the window, “Are you going to get in or stay because.” He points to the car behind him.

          Audrey and James get in. James in the backseat.

INT. CAR (MOVING STREETS)

          Rufus/Duke drives and says, “You do remember,” he chides, “you put a restraining order out on Teddy.”

          Audrey leans in towards Rufus/Duke, “This is going to be really hard for you to understand but everything on the show, that’s what’s real, not this. James and I are immune, we both know it.”

          Rufus/Duke annoyed says, “Rose that sounds crazy.”

          “Nathan’s in trouble. The producer is Mavis.”

          Rufus/Duke nods, “Yeah, she plays Mavis.”

          “She is Mavis and Nathan’s wife, Brian’s wife is Kat.”

          James leans through the center of the seats, “Kat was being held in the police department…” James says and shakes his head, “They did this to get her out.”

          Audrey nods, “And now the witches are in charge.”

          “Okay, this sounds insane.” Rufus/Duke says.

          “Does this have anything to do with Rene missing?”

          Audrey thinks back;

INT. IVERSON HOUSE - DAY

Audrey and James walk into the Iverson house led by Mr. And Mrs. Iverson.

The parents explain, “We told the kids that Rene was missing.” Audrey asks to talk to each of them.

INT. IVERSON HOUSE – GIRL’S BEDROOM - DAY

Audrey enters the girl’s room with the father. He says, “Gabby, this officer needs to ask you some questions.”

INT. CAR (MOVING)

          Audrey looking at James says, “Gabby Iverson said that they used to play make believe with unicorns and Dave and Vince…

PARK – DAY

At the crime scene, Vince and Dave arrive and walk up to her.

Audrey asks, “What are you two doing here?”

Vince and Dave are both concerned. Vince says, “We heard about Rene.”

Dave asks, “Is she alright?”

Nathan walks up to them, “She’s missing? That’s all the Herold gets.”

Audrey turns to Vince and Dave and asks, “What do you know about Rene?”

Dave reveals, “We come out here in the Afternoons sometimes to play chess.”

Vince accuses Dave of cheating at chess.

Dave barks, “I don’t cheat your just a sore loser.”

Audrey and Nathan wait impatiently.

Dave continues, “She’s here with the little kids she watches after school. They have so much fun together.”

INT. CAR (MOVING)

Audrey with realization says, “Nathan said that Eddie, the homeless guy said he saw a unicorn in the park the other day.”

“Rene is making this world?” James says.

Audrey nods.

“Who’s Rene?” Rufus/Duke asks.

“We have to find her.” James says, “She has to be here somewhere.”

“We need to warn Nathan.” Audrey says putting the phone up to her ear.

EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX - DAY

          Brian/Nathan walks up to an apartment with the phone to his ear, “Rose you better be calling to tell me that you fixed this.”

INT. CAR (MOVING)

          Audrey leans on the edge of her seat, “Nath—Brian you need to love her, you wife. Do you love her?”

EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX - DAY

          Brian/Nathan says, “How dare you call me and accuse me of not loving my wife.”

INT. CAR (MOVING)

          Audrey sitting in the front seat shakes her head, “No, I’m not…you just need to love her.”

EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX – DAY

          Nathan hangs up the phone as he enters the house.

INT. APARTMENT - DAY

Nathan walks inside and says, “Honey, I’m home.” He says.

INT. APARTMENT – BEDROOM - DAY

          Kat is in the bedroom getting into something romantic.

INT. CAR (MOVING)

          “We have to go back,” James says, “Mavis would keep Rene close to her.”

          “You’re right, we’ll go back at night.”

          Rufus/Duke comments, “You know, I never liked Brian’s wife.”

          Audrey looks at him annoyed, “I thought he said she was nice.”

          “Now that I think of it, she hasn’t been as of late.”

          Audrey whispers under her breath, “Hang on Rene.”

 

Act III

INT. OFFICE – HALLWAYS - NIGHT

          James, Audrey, Rufus/Duke walk down the hallway looking for Rene. Audrey has her gun. Rufus/Duke referring to the gun says, “You do know that’s a prop.”

          Audrey looks down at the gun and says, “Well it’s a pretty good one.”

          People start to approach their way so James motions to Audrey, “Put it away, put it away.”

          The people are talking, a man and a woman as they pass Audrey, James, Rufus/Duke, they discuss Haven, the show revealing they are writers;

“How are we going to reveal to Audrey that James knows that she and Nathan and are his parents.”

Audrey looks to James waiting for his reaction.

The writer continues, “And let James know they already knew.” James looks to her with a look of betrayal on her face, “You know?” He says surprised.

Audrey tries to reason with him, “James.”

James with a scowl on his face walks out.

Audrey runs after him.

Rufus/Duke pleads with her not to follow saying, “Rose…” As he does the male writer says, “I have no idea.”

INT. OFFICE – STAIRWAY - NIGHT

          Audrey chases James, on the stairway but is unable to find him. She goes down to the next floor and opens the door.

INT. OFFICE – FIRST FLOOR - NIGHT

          James is nowhere to be seen. Audrey turns back saying, “He must have gone up. Smart boy.”

INT. OFFICE – STAIRWAY – NIGHT

          Audrey runs up the stairs, she runs by Rufus/Duke as he comes off the fifth floor.

          “Rose, we’re not even supposed to be here. Don’t go running around all willy nilly.” He says trying to be quiet but the halls carry his voice.

          Audrey runs to the sixth floor and opens the door.

          Rufus/Duke exasperated follows her.

INT. OFFICE – THIRD FLOOR - NIGHT

           Audrey runs out and doesn’t see James, “Dang it, we lost him.” She turns to Rufus/Duke, “We have to find him.”

          “Okay” he follows Audrey as she searches the halls. “First Rene and now Teddy.” Rufus/Duke says exasperated by everything.

INT. OFFICE – SIXTH FLOOR - NIGHT

          James walks down the hall. He sees Mavis walk to her office and hides. He goes to the office and sees a name plate, “Benedicta Arla” on her door. He sees through her window that she is there sitting at her desk.

James sees a security guard down the hall. Fixing his outfit he walks right up to him, “I just saw Rose Emly, Benedicta wanted to know if she ever showed up.”

The security guard looks confused.

“I saw her just a few minutes ago on the first floor.” James continues. “Go! Tell her.” James insists.

The security guard jumps and heads to Mavis’s office. James watches from a distance in the hall.

Both Mavis and the guard quickly head out and downstairs.

James slides into the office before the door closes.

INT. MAVIS’ OFFICE - DAY

James inside Mavis’s office says, “Thank you.” Just as her door locks behind him. Under his breath he whispers, “Forgive me Audrey.” Quickly James looks around and begins to mess with the objects on Mavis’s desk. Pulling at a cat statue he reveals a secret room. Rene is bound and gagged inside. He goes to her, “Rene.” He says as he pulls off her gag.

“She’s after Audrey.” Rene says alarmed.

“Don’t worry I gave the wrong floor.” James says.

Rene shakes her head, “No, she has camera, she’s knows exactly where Audrey is.”

“You created this world.” James says, “Can’t you create something different.”

“If I do she’ll be back and hurt me.” Rene says shaking.

“What if Mavis was the one trespassing.” James suggested with a glisten in his eyes.

INT. OFFICE BUILDING - FOURTH FLOOR HALLWAY - NIGHT

Mavis plus many security guards walk up to Audrey and Rufus/Duke.

Rufus/Duke steps forward immediately saying, “I tried to stop her, told her this wasn’t right.”

Mavis/Benedicta nods, “It’s alright Rufus, I know this wasn’t your idea you can go.” She turns to two guards, “escort him out.”

As he’s escorted out, “What about me?” Audrey asks challenging Mavis.

Two guards reach out for her and she takes them down one at a time. Mavis reaches out to grab Audrey herself but she’s electrocuted and pulls away. Audrey looks to her engagement ring and grabs Mavis just enough to make her fall to the ground unconscious.

Rufus/Duke from the other end of the hall sees, “It’s true.” He says shocked.

INT. MAVIS OFFICE – NIGHT

James/Teddy and Rene watch through the video screens on Mavis’ computer. “See,” James says, “She can’t hurt you anymore.”

Rene nods.

INT. OFFICE BUILDING – FOURTH FLOOR HALLWAY - NIGHT

          As Duke is being taken out by men he strains watching Audrey/Rose. The men look to him, “Duke Crocker, Rene wants to speak with you.” He is pulled out of the room.

          “Audrey.” A guard on the ground says, “Rene is on the sixth floor Benedicta’s office.”

          Audrey nods. She sees Duke/Rufus being taken away, “Duke?” she questions.

The guard says, “He’s being brought to her.”

Audrey follows them.

INT. MAVIS OFFICE – NIGHT

          Rene turns to James, “They’ll be brought here.” Rene stands behind James and picks up a heavy marble figurine. She bashes James over the head with it.

INT. APARTMENT – NIGHT

          Brian/Nathan and Kat are sitting at a romantic dinner, their plates with only scraps left over.

          “That was a wonderful dinner.” Kat says, “Thank you for cooking it. You’ve earned your desert.” Kat says and walks into the bedroom beginning to take off her clothes.

          In Brian/Nathan’s head he hears Audrey/Rose’s voice, “Just love her.” He sighs and walks into the bedroom.

INT. APARTMENT – BEDROOM – NIGHT

          Brian/Nathan and Kat, in slip kiss deeply. Kat begins to remove his clothes.

 

Act IV

INT. APARTMENT – BEDROOM – NIGHT

          Brian/Nathan and Kat kisses deeply. Kat thoroughly enjoying herself as she takes off his shirt.

INT. MAVIS OFFICE - NIGHT

          Rene pants heavily panicked she tries to drag James, unconscious on the ground, into the room but       Audrey and Duke arrive at the door.

          “What happened?” Audrey asks Rene.

          Rene shaken up starting to cry says, “I can’t do this. I can’t live like this.” She looks to Duke.

          Rufus/Duke picks up a knife that appears on the desk and pulling it over his head is going to pull it down on Rene.

          Audrey gets in the way, “What are you doing?” she says grabbing his hand with the knife.

          “She’s going to hurt us, we have to take care of her.” Rufus/Duke insists.

          Audrey still holding Rufus/Duke at bay tells Rene, “Stop this. I know you’re doing this because you’re scared but you don’t want to live with Mavis using you and your trouble like she has.”

          Rufus/Duke pushing her away is starting to win over Audrey. She’s having a hard time holding the knife at bay.

          “You can make a better Haven Rene, you have the opportunity to make a world without troubles.”

          “No, I can’t.” Rene cries.

          “I know you’re scared Rene of what Mavis will do. Let me worry about her.” Audrey urges her.

          Rene shakes her head, “You don’t understand I can’t get rid of the troubled. Nothing can override them. Everyone still has them even Nathan as he’s with Kat. The mind is simply a powerful thing.”

INT. APARTMENT – BEDROOM - NIGHT

          Brian/Nathan kissing Kat pulls away and thinks to himself, looking confused.

          Kat upset grumbles, “Why are you stopping?” She turns his head towards her and kisses him deeply.

          Nathan/Brian pulls away.

Kat is irritated.

Brian/Nathan asks, “Do you love me?”

“What kind of a question is that? Kat asks with attitude, “Of course I love you.”

          In Brian/Nathan’s head he hears Audrey/Rose’s voice, “Just love her.”

INT. MAVIS’ OFFICE - NIGHT

“And Duke has his trouble too.” Rene slashes her hand with the letter opener and presses her blood against Rufus/Duke.

          Simply trying to shake it off Rufus/Duke throws Audrey/Rose against the wall. Startled he goes to Audrey/Rose, “Are you alright, I’m so sorry. I don’t know how.”

          Audrey/Rose nods and slowly gets up with Duke’s help.

          Rene sits against the wall, “You’re lucky. I made Duke your friend. Mavis didn’t specify, I didn’t want you to be alone, and I always thought the two of you should have ended up together.”

          “You don’t really want to die.” Audrey asks as she approaches Rene.

          “If he kills me, this all ends and Mavis can’t use me anymore.”

          Audrey asks, “Can’t you just end the make believe.”

          Rene shakes her head, “It has to run its course. I can add things. And if people figure things out things can happen faster.”

          James stirs, “I can set it up so that Duke kills you and brings you back.” James turns to the electric door and starts to strip some wires.

          As Rene looks out into the distance Audrey looks to her, “You won’t have your trouble anymore and we won’t let her hurt you.”

          Duke approaches, “If I were you I’d rather let some witch kill me, than do it for her.”

          Rene looks to him and smiles and nods a thank you tears stream down her cheeks. Then she’s startled, “something’s happening.”

          James tells them, looking at the computer monitors, that Mavis is getting up.

INT. OFFICE BUILDING – FOURTH FLOOR HALLWAY - NIGHT

          Mavis, grumpy gets up from the floor.

          The security guards say, “Mam you have to come with us.”

          Mavis pushes them away with her magic and makes her way upstairs.

INT. MAVIS’ OFFICE - NIGHT

          Rene looks to Audrey, James, Rufus/Duke, “No, I’ll have the guards deal with Mavis. Nathan’s the problem. I can see him. He’s in trouble.”

INT. APARTMENT – BEDROOM – NIGHT

          As Brian/Nathan kisses Kat in his head he hears Audrey/Rose’s voice, “Just love her.” He kisses Kat passionately.

          Kat groans in pain and backs away, “No.”

          Brian/Nathan asks, “Honey, what’s wrong?”

          Angered, Kat puts her hands around his throat and begins to strangle him.

He looks at her shocked and betrayed.

Kat says, “We should have killed you a long time ago.”

INT. MAVIS’ OFFICE – NIGHT

          Rene insistent says, “We need to do this now.”

James hands some stripped wires from the electric door to Duke, “It should shock her and then you can jolt her back.”

INT. HALLWAY – NIGHT

Mavis is about to walk in.

INT. MAVIS OFFICE – NIGHT

          Rene turns to Audrey, “Audrey, Mavis asked that the worse part of themselves was at the surface. Take care of them.” Rene says.

          Audrey looks at her wondering why she’s saying this.

As Mavis walks in, James says, “Now” and Duke shocks Rene.

Rene falls to the ground and suddenly the scene goes white.

INT. APARTMENT – NIGHT

          Kat strangling Nathan disappears.

INT. POLICE STATION BASEMENT – NIGHT

          Kat is in the basement with Daniel saying, “James you have to give…” he turns and James isn’t there.”

          Kat awake using her magic pushes Daniel against a wall and runs out in a blur.

INT. NATHAN’S HOUSE – BEDROOM – NIGHT

          Nathan is in bed chocking. 

INT. GULL – NIGHT

          Duke stands at the bar whipping it down. He looks up wondering, what’s going on.

INT. EMPTY OFFICE BUILDING - NIGHT

James and Audrey stand in the office building neither Duke nor Rene are there.

Audrey asks, “Where is she?”

James puts his head in his hands, “She knew. Once her trouble went away she went back to where she was before all this started and we don’t know where that is.”

Audrey looks out upset, “We can’t save her.” She moans, “Rene.”

James turning from Audrey storms off.

 

Tag

EXT. GULL – DECK - DAY

          Audrey, Duke, Nathan, Vince, Dave, Sam, and Daniel sit at the Gull, waiting sadly.

          Dwight pulls up in his truck with James.

          Dwight gets out James follows.

          Audrey looks to James, “James.” She asks for his forgiveness in her tone.

          James shakes his head, “I’m still mad at you for keeping it from me.”

          Nathan interrupts, “We kept it from you for your own good.”

          James, “No, to protect yourselves. You’re my parents, you shouldn’t lie about it.”

Dwight interrupts, “Hey! Stop it! Not here! Not now.”

They differ to Dwight. He announces, “They found Rene’s body this morning.”

          Under the table Sam takes Duke’s hand.          He clutches it.

          James looks away from Audrey and to Dwight, “I’m going to head back if that’s alright.”

          Dwight nods, “Yeah, I’ll give you a ride.”

Duke shakes his head pursing his lips together upset, “Why did she let me.”

Audrey says, “She knew…She knew what she was doing.”

Nathan nods, “Saving me.”

          Sam looks to everyone, “She saved us all. I knew I had that in me, what she made me.”

          Audrey nods and flashes back;

INT. MAVIS’ OFFICE - NIGHT   

Rene turns to Audrey, “Audrey, Mavis asked that the worse part of themselves was at the surface. Take care of them.” Rene says.

EXT. GULL – DAY

          Audrey turns to the group, “You were your worst selves. Rene told me that’s what Mavis wanted.”

          “I have anger issues.” Sam says.

          Duke turns to her, “You don’t have to hide that from me. It’s not like I haven’t seen darkness.”

          Sam turns to him eyes rolling, “You thought I was a bitch. I heard you say it.”

          Vince leans in, “Most likely Mavis wanted to keep the two of you apart”

Dave adds, “You’ve been a threat to her before.”

Nathan says, “I thought I loved Kat, there’s something seriously wrong with that.”

          Daniel leaves the table quietly as they talk. Audrey follows him up to his apartment. He, knowing she’s following him says, “I’m sorry for what I did.” He says without looking to her.

          Audrey nods, “You didn’t know-

          Daniel shakes his head interrupting, “No, I never wanted you to see that. That’s who I was before your mother troubled me. Whoever thought a trouble would be a blessing.”

          “Whoever thought being a cad would get you a blessing.” Audrey refers to herself.

          Daniel surprised says, “How did you?”

          “I guessed. Mavis seems to take advantage of people’s weaknesses. But she underestimated you, thought you wouldn’t care about me. But you did…even before your trouble.”

          Daniel nods.

          “But I think you should leave Haven, get a life of your own.”

          Daniel looks to her shocked.

          She looks at him with care and compassion, “You deserve your own life now. I have plenty of protection here.” She looks back at Duke, Nathan, James, Sam, Dwight, Vince, and Dave at the table.

          Daniel nods, “Yeah.”

AT THE TABLE

          Duke and Sam sits with Nathan, Dave, and Vince.

          “Come on Haven a TV show. I think our lives are pretty boring.” Sam says.

          “You’re certainly not boring.” Duke says and Sam smirks at him.

          “Hello,” Dave says to get everyone’s attention, “there’s more important things to worry about here.”

          “All four of the witches are together.” Vince says and leans in, “They can trouble people again.”

          Everyone looks out into the distance unsure what the future will bring.

INT. CAVE - NIGHT

Mavis in her dark cave is angry. Kat and Jeremy beside her. She points to a picture of Duke, “We need to get rid of him. We need to do it sooner rather than later.”
