S5 E6 "Helicopter Parent" Haven Rewrites

S5 E6 “Helicopter Parent” – After Nathan and Audrey return to Haven a slew of helicopter parenting takes place putting Audrey in grave danger.

Previously on Haven;

          Dwight asked Daniel to makes a book about the witches’ abilities when he reveals he knows about the witches, such as how they can manipulate the troubles through touch.

Audrey and Nathan’s son James, conceived in 1955 showed up in Haven.

          Daniel, Audrey’s father, (played by Colin Ferguson) has also shown up in Haven.

          Sam and Duke kidnapped a witch, Kat, Sam’s sister.

 

Teaser

INT. HIGHSCHOOL - HALLWAY - DAY

A teenage boy walks over to his locker as people walk by, including a beautiful blond girl. He says hello to them, all but the beautiful blond say hello back. He looks disappointed.

From inside a locker, someone watches him.

Suddenly the beautiful girl shrieks in pain “ouch”, “ouch”, she says wiping herself off and shaking. A lose hand falls from her and scurries away. She screams. The boy looks on terrified.

EXT. POLICE STATION - DAY

In front of the station Audrey and Nathan kiss deeply.

A police officer walks by, “Welcome back.” He says.

They release the kiss, Audrey is embarrassed and nods to the cop.

Nathan says nothing he simply takes her hand and they walk.

“Remember, I promised my dad I’d spend some time with him.” Audrey says facing Nathan as they walk.

Nathan gripes, “Didn’t we spend enough time with him on the honeymoon.”

Audrey chuckles, “He only called a few times…”

Nathan says, “A few?”

Audrey looks at Nathan, “He was worried and frankly I kind of liked it.”

Nathan smiles nodding.

Audrey smiles and walks up to the station, as she does Nathan’s smile disappears as he catches up saying, “I worry.” as if he wants to be her favorite.

INT. POLICE STATION - DAY

Daniel inside is jovial as he walks down the halls of the station.

Dwight passes by him, “Daniel, that book you made it’s going to be really helpful.”

Daniel looks up, “I wrote what I remembered.”

Dwight nods, “It will really help in the fight against the witches.”

Daniel turns to go, Dwight takes his arm, “I know taking orders from me isn’t ideal. I mean, you’ve lead your own army.”

Daniel nods and modifies the statement, “Clay army.”

Dwight continues, “I really appreciate you helping out around here.”

Daniel nods, “No problem.”

Dwight nods to him and moves on.

Daniel utters under his breath, “I get to be around Audrey.”

Daniel hears a noise down in the basement. He follows it saying, “Nobody’s supposed to be down here.” There’s noise of a scuffle.

 

Act I

EXT. HIGH SCHOOL – DAY

James is at the high school talking to the blond teenage girl, “So a hand crawled on its own on the ground.” He says writing it down.

The girl with attitude says, “Shouldn’t Nathan and Audrey be handling this? They’re the trouble solvers?”

James looks up to her waiting for her to continue.

She goes on, “We all know this is a trouble. A creepy one?” She shivers. “I want Audrey Parker.”

James looks to her, “Margaret, I’m glad you’re okay and I’ll do everything I can to make sure it stays that way.”

The girls smiles at him, flirtatiously. From behind the bushes someone watches as the girl twirls her hair flirtatiously smiling at James.

James listens taking notes.

Later

He walks away, “Teenagers.” He says annoyed.

INT. POLICE STATION – CHIEF’S OFFICE - DAY

In the police station Duke runs up to Dwight in his office, “Did you move Kat?” He says eagerly.

Dwight jumps from his chair saying, “Is she gone?”

Sam behind Duke with a tone of disbelief says, “Duke swears he didn’t leave her that way. One leg is a little too much under the other.”

Duke annoyed with Sam turns to her, “If she’s becoming immune to the drugs even a little bit we need to know.”

INT. POLICE STATION BASEMENT - DAY

Dwight, Duke, and Sam stand in the basement looking at Kat strapped down and hooked up to an I-V. “We can’t have her waking up.” Duke says.

Sam exhausted says, “We can’t keep doing this coming in and feeding her three times a day. I’m getting spit on and I’m exhausted.”

Dwight asks, “There’s no one else to keep her abilities at bay.”

Sam says, “Audrey and Nathan.”

Dwight says, “No, you heard her, she wants to kill Nathan.”

Sam yells, “I think she wants to kill all of us at this point.” Sam starts to cry out of exhaustion, “We can’t keep torturing her. She’s not going to give us any information.”

Duke holds Sam, “I’m sorry, I know this has been hard for you.”

Sam cries, “She’s my sister.”

Duke looks to Sam intently, “We’ll find another way, an amulet like Audrey’s ring.”

Dwight nods, “That might work.”

EXT. HOUSE - DAY

In front of a house James gets out of Nathan’s truck. Nathan follows.

“Margaret’s father’s a bit hands with the ladies and Miss Row filed a complaint with the department I thought I’d check her out.” James says.

Nathan nods, “Makes sense.”

As they walk up the path to the house James says, “Thanks for joining me on this.” Nathan says, “No, problem. Audrey’s spending some time with Daniel today.”

INT. GULL APARTMENT - DAY

Audrey sits in her old apartment over the Gull. “It’s strange that you moved into my old place and kept it the same.” She says looking around creeped out.

He puts down a tray of tea cups and a tea pot, putting the pot and cups on the table. “You left all the furniture.” Daniel says.

He hands Audrey a cup of tea. “Thank you.” Audrey says and takes a sip, “wow” she says amazed at how good it is. “What is that?”

Daniel responds, “Oolong Tea, you made it in a past life. This was your favorite.”

Audrey’s a little creeped out. She turns thinking trying to figure out what question to ask, “How is it that I remember but don’t?”

Daniel puts down his tea, “like the piano?”

Audrey feeling understood says, “Yes,” exasperated.

“Lack of memories can’t burry emotions, those ingrained responses.”

Audrey shakes her head, “I don’t understand.”

Daniel sits up, “When Gabriel, Agent Howard…” 

Audrey asks, “Who is Agent Howard? Gabriel?”

Daniel shakes his head, “I still don’t know. I always thought of him as an angel, your guide. Keeper of the barn.”

Audrey nods, “He offered me the choice of the barn.”

Daniel nods, “Correct, you wanted to save everyone. But I wanted to protect you from your mother so he arranged the different memories. He told me that you would have to be different people who’d also had a traumatic childhood, because you did. I was upset but there was no burying your emotional responses and you might revel yourself to your mother.”

Audrey nods and speaks with understanding, “But if it was a part of the past I remembered she wouldn’t know.” 

Daniel nods, “Knowing that emotional responses would carry through the different memories I asked that these people also have great joy. The oolong the piano is something that brought you joy.”

Audrey hugs her dad and cries, “thank you.”

A loose hand suddenly holds a gun against the back of Audrey’s head.

Act II

INT. GULL RESTURANT APARTMENT - DAY

In the apartment above the Gull Daniel and Audrey are in a hug, a gun at the back of Audrey’s head.

Daniel sees the gun and pulls Audrey to the side. The gun fires. The bullet scrapes by the side of his head. Daniel kicks the table away and throws Audrey onto the ground. She flips the metal tray on the table up and smacks the hand with it, sending the gun flying. The hand scurries away.

EXT. GULL RESTURANT - DAY

Cops and ambulance are in front of the Gull. Nathan drives up, with James.

On the patio, Audrey sits next to Daniel getting his head bandaged up. The EMT is just finishing.

Nathan jumps out of the car, runs, and hug’s Audrey. James moseys over after him. Nathan shaken demands to know, “Why didn’t you call me.”

Audrey responds, “I didn’t want to bother you.”

Audrey looks around, “Who tattled?” She says looking to the cops. They all look away from her, “Yeah, you should look away.” She says.

James says, “this is our case, the lose hand. They were just following procedure.”

Daniel and Audrey at the same time say, “Get me up to speed.” They look at each other.

Nathan is a little weirded-out, they’re so much alike.

James thrust his notepad into Audrey’s chest, “here.” He says and walks away.

Audrey calls out, “James.” As she takes the notebook.

Nathan holds her back, “let me talk to him.”

James on the beach by the Gull looks out at the ocean upset. Nathan comes up beside him, “It’s your first case and it was a good lead, you couldn’t have known.”

 

INT. HOUSE – DAY Flashback:

At the woman’s house as they sit and talk the woman says, “I have a trouble but that’s not it.” She stretches her head around all the way and says, “Just don’t do that at the prom.”

EXT. GULL RESUTRANT – BEACH – DAY

As Nathan talks to James in front of the Gull Audrey comes up behind them, “We have a new lead.” Audrey says holding up an evidence bag with the gun in it.”

James turns around.

Audrey looks to James, “It’s your case. What should we do?”

James sighs, “See who it’s registered to.”

Nathan says, “I’ll get right on it.” He takes the bag from Audrey.

INT. PAWN SHOP - DAY

At a pawn shop Duke walks inside. He’s greeted by a friendly bearded man, “ Duke, it’s been a long time. Have something to sell me today?” Duke shakes his head, “I’m actually looking for a ring.”

The bearded man says, “Finally going to get Sam something. I have some matching bands.”

Duke nods, “I’ll look at everything you got.”

The man says, “Okay” and goes into the back.

INT. POLICE STATION - DAY

At the police station Nathan announces the gun is registered to Mr. Baxter. They decide to go talk to him but who will go, James, Nathan, Audrey and Daniel all want to go.

Audrey tells James “it’s your case, who do you think is the best person to go?” With his head, James gestures for Nathan to follow him and walks away.

Audrey turns to Nathan, “Keep an eye on him.” Audrey says worried.

Nathan nods, “yeah.” He says and follows James.

EXT. BAXTER HOUSE – DAY

At the house James and Nathan get out of the car as James says, “I just get the feeling you’re looking over my shoulder all the time and I’m sick of it.”

Nathan says, “James, that’s our job as you’re…superiors.”

James sighs knowing that it’s true, “It feels like you don’t trust me to do my job.”

They approach the house, as they do they’re shot at.

James and Nathan hide behind the car.

In front of the house two lose hands hold a riffle. 

 

Act III

EXT. BAXTER HOUSE - DAY

James and Nathan hide behind the truck. Nathan looks and tries to shoot at the hands while staying behind the car.

“the angle’s too steep.” Nathan says.

James says, “I should have brought Audrey. She could make that shot.”

Nathan nods surrendering to the truth. He calls on his walkie, “Shots fired at Baxter residence. The assailant is two hands, we need Parker, she’s the only one who can make the shot.”

INT. POLICE STATION - DAY

At the station a panicked Dwight heads looks around and turns to Daniel, “Where’s Audrey?” he asks.

“She’s in the restroom.” Daniel says.

“She needs to get down to the Baxter’s house. Nathan and James are pinned by the hands. She’s the only one who can make the shot.”

Daniel nods and heads inside the restroom.

INT. RESTROOM - DAY

Audrey washes her hands.

Daniel enters.

“Dad.” Audrey objects, “This is the woman’s restroom, Nathan’s right-“

“We have to go.” Daniel says, “Nathan and James just learned the witches sent this hand as an assassin after you. We have to leave Haven.”

Audrey nods and leaves the station with her father.

INT. POLICE STATION – BASEMENT – DAY

Duke and Sam are in the basement as Duke tries a number of rings against Kat’s skin.

Suddenly Kat convulses moaning in pain.

Sam bites her lip worried about her.

Kat then laughs and looks to Sam, “A loving talisman is very rare.”

EXT. BAXTER HOUSE - DAY

The hands still holding the shotgun in front of the house, Nathan, at the Baxter house with James calls through the walkie, “Dwight, Where is Audrey?”

Dwight says, his voice coming through the walkie, “She left ten minutes ago. She’s not there?”

James grabs the walkie and says, “No, she’s not.”

They’re shot at some more.

INT. POLICE STATION – BASEMENT - DAY

          Dwight holds the walkie in the basement with Duke and Sam, as they try more rings. None work.

Confusion on Dwight’s face over the walkie he says, “She and Daniel should have been over there.”

Through the walkie they hear shots and James says, “Well she’s not.”

Kat begins to chuckle, “How is Daniel doing?” she asks in a sinister voice.

Dwight, Sam, and Duke look to Kat. “He didn’t look so good when I saw him, this morning.”

Duke demands to know, “What did you do?”

Kat says, “I turned the volume up on his trouble.”

INT. CAR (MOVING)

In the car Audrey is driving on a dirt road as Audrey says, “We should go back and help.”

Daniel says, “Nathan and James are taking care of it. Nathan wanted me to keep you safe.”

Audrey sighs, “I don’t like being treated like this.”

Daniel irritated says, “Nathan couldn’t do his job if he didn’t know you were safe.”

Audrey gives in and keeps going.

“We’re almost to the cabin.” Daniel says.

INT. POLICE STATION – BASEMENT - DAY

In the basement with Duke, Sam, and the prisoner Kat Dwight says, “Daniel’s not troubled. He’s not from Haven.”

Kat nods, “The later part’s true. Mavis troubled him after Audrey was born.”

FOREST – NIGHT (Flashback)

Flashback to Daniel tied down in the troubling circle as the witches with masks over their faces are around him chanting.

Little girl Audrey runs up to the circle. She hugs Daniel, “Father.”

He hugs her. “Angel. Beautiful Angel. You shouldn’t be here.”

Audrey shakes her head, “they can’t hurt me.”

He hugs her, “I love you my baby girl.”

The witches continue to chant. Black smoke enters Daniel.

Mavis stands angry looking tired as the others rest, “Daughter, get away from him.”

Daniel holding young Audrey yells, “I will not let you hurt her anymore.”

Mavis smiles, “What are you going to do?”

Daniel pulls on the ropes holding him down and breaks them off his wrists as if with super strength.

Mavis stands in shock.

Daniel quickly picks up young Audrey and runs.

Mavis’s witches, including Nell turns to follow. Mavis holds them back, “He won’t survive long.”

INT. POLICE STATION - DAY

In the basement of the police station Kat tells Duke, Dwight, and Sam “Daniel was given a class red trouble to get rid of him quickly. He managed to control it but not now. Self-destructive he’ll probably take a few people along with him.”

Sam worried says, “Audrey.”

Dwight takes his phone out.

Duke flips the IV on for the sedative saying, “I’ll go help Nathan and James.” Kat fights it but falls asleep.

Dwight puts the phone to his ear.

INT. CAR (MOVING) - DAY

Daniel in the car with Audrey hears the cell ring, “You have your cell phone.” He says annoyed. He takes it off Audrey’s belt and throws it out the window.

The phone breaks when it hits the ground.

“That was a new phone.” Audrey says annoyed. Daniel’s annoyed, “They can track you with that.”

EXT. BAXTER HOUSE - DAY

As Nathan and James remain behind the truck. The walkie malfunctions.

“We’re on our own.” Nathan says. He throws the walkie down. “If I could just.” Nathan says as he sneaks over to get a shot, but he’s shot towards and James pulls him out of the way.

Suddenly the teenage boy from the beginning runs out of the house and runs in front of the gun, “Now you have to stop!” and holds his body against the head of the gun.

With their guns drawn Nathan and James approach.

“Are you alright?” the teen asks.

Nathan nods.

The teen continues holding the gun to his chest so if it fires he’ll be shot, “I’m so sorry, my mom she’s really overprotective.”

James is shocked, “Your mother?”

The teenage boy nervously says, “Yeah, I like Margaret the girl at school. She doesn’t give me the time of day so my mom got mad. And then she overheard you talking about Audrey.”

Nathan stands, “You know we’re going to have to arrest her.”

The teenage boy says, “There’s no prison that can hold her.” As the boys says this the hands let go of the gun and head back inside.

Nathan motioning to James to go around back quickly says, “Let us worry about that.”

Nathan moves through the front while James goes through the back.

Inside the house Nathan and James see a woman, the teen’s mother, her eyes roll back into the socket and hands reconnect to the stumps of her arms. She pulls a gun on Nathan. James holds a gun on her from behind, “It’s over.” James says holding the gun against her head.

“Mom.” The teen says. “Stop please.” He takes her gun from her.

Nathan putting his gun back in his holster reaches out with his hands placing them on the teen mom’s cheeks.

The teen asks, “What are you doing?” he points the gun at Nathan’s head, “Stop.”

         

Act IV

INT. BAXTER HOUSE - DAY

Inside the teen’s house with James and the teen, Nathan hands are on the cheeks of the teen’s mother. James’ gun against the mother’s head. The teen has the gun against Nathan’s head, “Stop.” The teen yells.

Nathan pulls his hands up.

“What did you do?” The boy asks.

 “I can heal the troubles.”

James looks to the boy, “Look at me.” He says and let’s the gun down from his mother’s head. “Let him cure her, your mother won’t be able to spy on you anymore you can have your life back.”

“You won’t get it back.” The mother says, “You’ve threatened a police officer the only way is to run.” The mother says, “We can run together.”

The boy looks terrified.

James shakes his head, “No, you’re free to go. If you put the gun down. Right Nathan?”

Nathan nods, “Yeah, just put the gun down.”

The boy thinks hard then puts the gun down.

James takes that gun.

Nathan lunges in to heal the woman.

She fights, but James drops the gun and holds her down for Nathan.

A moment later Nathan’s off her.

She cries, “I can’t. I can’t.” as if in a catatonic state.

“Let’s go.” Nathan says.

“Aren’t you going to take her in?” the teen boy asks hopeful they won’t. He cares for his mother.

James shakes his head, “She’s not going to hurt anyone anymore.”

She looks up to her son, “I can’t protect you now.” She says despondent.

“Mom, I don’t need you to watch me like a helicopter. Just be there for me when I need you. Please.”

The mother looks to the teen boy. She nods and holds her head against his.

Nathan looks to James and realizes he might have overstepped his bounds.

Duke bursts in, with his shotgun. Another gun in the back of his pants. With his gun held ready to fire he sees that everything is okay, “Ah good, you’re done. Audrey’s missing.”

James says, “Again?” Nathan races out. Duke and James follow.

 

EXT. BAXTER HOUSE - DAY

Outside as Nathan races to the truck, Duke and James following Nathan takes out his phone.

          Duke sees Nathan and says, “Dwight already tried calling her.”

Nathan looks to his phone, “Audrey has a gps chip. I have the app...”

They look at him creeped out.

“It’s was Audrey’s idea.” Nathan says motions James and Duke get in the car.

As they get in the car Duke says, “there’s something you need to know, Daniel’s troubled.”

 

FOREST - DAY

In the forest Audrey and Daniel are walking. Daniel looks lost, “I swear there was a cabin around here.”

Audrey hypothesizes, “Maybe it got torn down. It could have been from another century.”

Daniel shakes his head, “No, I was here a couple months ago.”

Audrey suggests, “Maybe we got turned around.”

A voice from by them says, “No, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.” It’s Mavis.

 

Act V

FOREST – DAY

          With Mavis in front of them Daniel takes Audrey’s hand, “You can’t hurt her.”

Mavis in pain backs away.  She looks Daniel up and down and smiles. She walks around them in circles, “I taught Kat that trick implanting a place of safety in someone’s head to get them to come. She led you right where she wanted to.”

Audrey questions, “Kat, Sam’s sister?”

Mavis smiles, “Kat’s the most powerful witch I’ve ever worked with and you have her in custody.”

Audrey shakes her head, “No, we don’t.”

Mavis shakes her head unsure whether she should believe her, “Well then, it looks like some people aren’t sharing everything with you.”

Audrey is shocked and looks to Daniel as if wondering if this is true.

Mavis turns to Daniel, “Kat got to you.”

Audrey asks her dad, “What is she talking about?”

Daniel looks off into the distance. He flashes back to;

INT. POLICE STATION – BASEMENT – DAY (Flashback)

Kat struggles to walk out of the basement still woozy from the drugs she nocks over a tray, making a crashing noise.

Daniel enters saying, “Nobody’s supposed to be down here.”

Kat holds up her hands and throws him against the wall, weaker she stumbles toward the exit.

He pulls himself off the ground and tackles her. As he closes off her airway she places her hand against him, a dark shadow appears. Kat passed out. He places her on the bed.

FOREST - DAY

In the forest Daniel looking at Mavis says to Audrey, “there was an altercation.”

Audrey is furious, “You have a witch tied up.”

Daniel shakes his head, “No, I stumbled upon her at the station.”

Mavis smiles, “And she excited your trouble.”

Audrey looks at her dad feeling betrayed, “Trouble, you have a trouble.” Audrey looks to Daniel betrayed on her face, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Mavis chuckles, “You would have Nathan cure him he can’t give up his “selflessness”, that would be too selfish. He knows if he gave it up he’d leave like he did before you were born, calling me cruel and then leaving you alone with me for years.”

Audrey flashes back;

INT. CAVE - DAY

A little girl she stands hiding in a cave, blood rushing down her arms as Mavis calls out to her, “Daughter, little daughter. Come out. We still have some more lessons to learn.”

FOREST - DAY

Audrey’s hands slips from Daniel’s. Mavis holds up her hand and with her magic she pulls off Audrey’s engagement ring. Audrey tries to lean towards it keeping it her hand in a fist. As she does Mavis pulls on Audrey’s belt tugging her forward, keeping her from running.

Daniel grabs Audrey’s gun and points it towards Mavis, “No, I won’t let you hurt her.”

Mavis lifts her other hand and with her magic moves the gun so that Daniel puts it against his own temple.

Suddenly she shakes Tasered from behind by Nathan. James, and Duke with him.

Mavis runs in a blur, the Taser flies out of Nathan’s hands and goes with her. Nathan looks to Audrey and Daniel. Daniel holds Audrey’s head in a vice, his elbow against her chest. He holds the gun to her head, “It’s the only way to protect you.” He says.

Nathan pulls the gun on him.

“Your mother will hurt you otherwise.” Daniel says.

Audrey fights it but is having trouble breathing, his vice around her neck is so strong.

James steps up to Daniel, “You’re the one hurting her.” Daniel holds her neck so tightly she can’t breathe. Audrey flashes back.

FOREST (FLASHBACK)

Daniel runs through the woods holding little Audrey. “Father stop. I need to rest.” Daniel stops and puts her down in pain. Young Audrey puts her hands on his cheeks, “You need to rest and eat to help me.” Daniel nods.

FOREST (BACK TO SCENE)

Back in the forest Audrey’s nose begins to bleed as Daniel has his arm around her neck.

Nathan has his gun on Daniel but James is in the way.

Duke yells, “Look at her, you’re hurting her.”

Daniel looks down at Audrey and let’s go.  

Audrey falls to her knees and coughs for breath. Putting the gun to his own head Daniel says, “I have to protect you.”

James yells, “Daniel no, she needs you, we need you. We can do this together.”

Audrey turns to Daniel, “I remember…”

He pauses for a moment.

Audrey continues, “I remember you scooped me up into your arms after mother troubled you, you took me away from her. You protected me. And I took care of you. You needed me to take care of you because your selflessness prevented you from doing it. Let me take care of you now so you can protect me.” Audrey approaches him, “Give me the gun. Let Nathan heal you.” Nathan approaches Daniel.

Daniel backs away, “If he heals me I won’t protect you. I left before you were born knowing what she would do to you.”

Audrey shakes her head, “You came back for me risking a trouble. You’ve always protected me troubled or not.” Audrey holds out her hand for the gun.

Daniel after a moment of hesitation pulls down the gun. James quickly takes it and Nathan goes to Daniel.

INT. POLICE STATION – BASEMENT - EVENING

Audrey and Nathan are at the station with Dwight, Daniel, James, Sam, and Duke standing in the basement in front of the anesthetized Kat.

“So this is Kat.” Nathan says leaning against an ugly piece of art.

Dwight nods, “We keep her sedated to prevent her escape.”

Audrey nods and looks to Sam, “You knew about her since your capture?”

Sam, looking shamed says, “I shouldn’t have kept it from everyone.”

Duke argues for her, “She wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for Sam.”

James chimes in, “Should I be offended that no one asked me to babysit her?”

They all look to James pondering about what James babysitting her would be like.

“He is immune to her magic.” Daniel says.

Duke sighs, “That’s right.” He says as if just realizing the truth of it.

James grumbles under his breath, “No one remembers.”

Nathan stands up straight, “Well I’ve seen enough.”

Dwight says, “I’ll make a schedule with the three groups, Daniel can you help James.”

Daniel nods, “I’d like to be helpful.” He sighs relieved. Without his trouble he’s still helpful.

Duke tells Sam, “I got to head to the Gull.” He kisses her and heads out.

INT. POLICE STATION - EVENING

Sam, Audrey, Nathan, Dwight, James and Daniel all turn to leave the station. On the way out, Nathan turns to James, “I do trust you James, you have good instincts. You did well out there.”

James nods and thanks him.

Audrey turns to Nathan, “Let’s go to dinner.”

Nathan takes Audrey’s hand and nods.

INT. GULL - NIGHT

Audrey and Nathan are just finishing up eating. Nathan heads to the bathroom.

Sam sees Audrey and goes up to her, “I’m sorry about Kat. Really sorry.” She sits down in Nathan’s seat, “I had no idea that when she came to Haven she would do this.”

Audrey placing her hand on Sam’s assures her, “Sam, my mother is the head of their witch gang, you don’t need to apologize for your sister.”

Sam chuckles and sighs in relief.

Duke walks around and tells everyone “Closing in ten minutes so pay up and get out or we’ll make you help clean up.”

“That’s my cue.” Sam says and gets up from the table.

Audrey takes Sam’s hand, “we’re going to help her.” Audrey assures Sam.

Sam comforted nods.

The waitress brings the check back, with the credit card in it.

Daniel at the bar watches Audrey and Nathan as he signs the check and turns to Audrey asking, “Ready to go?” watching them leave through the deck entrance he heads after them.

EXT. GULL – DECK - NIGHT

Chasing after Audrey and Nathan as they head to the parking lot, “Audrey,” Daniel yells.

Audrey turns back to him. She sees Daniel there looking sad, as if pleading to talk to her.

“I’ll meet you at the car.” Audrey tells Nathan.

Nathan nods and heads towards the lot.

Daniel and Audrey slowly approach each other. Daniel speaks first, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about my trouble or that I left before you were born. I’m not proud of it.”

Audrey looks to him coldly, “It’s okay, I get it. You did come back.” She points to the parking lot, “Nathan’s waiting for me.”

Daniel nods and sighs, still uneasy about his relationship with his daughter, not sure they’re on good terms or not.

She turns away from Daniel and walks down the steps. Sam standing at the front entrance asks Audrey, “What was that?

Audrey looks back to Sam.

Sam continues, “He gave up his life for you.”

Audrey shakes her head, “It was just a trouble. He didn’t really care.”

Sam shakes her head, “He was selfless for you. He didn’t have to choose you. He chose you.”

Audrey realizing the truth of this runs back to see Daniel leaning against the building. She hugs him tears streaming down her cheeks, “Thank you Daddy for protecting me.”

He hugs her. “I’d do it all again.”

From the parking lot Nathan sees them and smiles.

CAVE - NIGHT

In a damp cave Mavis sits, a TV monitor displays the forest. She turns her swivel chair around, to see a teenage girl, her long hair falls past the bag over her head a rope around it over her mouth gagging her. She whimpers sitting in the corner with her hands and feet tied.

“Now you know why I’m in charge.” Mavis says sternly, “You never would have considered this to get Kat back.” She looks to Jeremy who stands beside.

Still bruised he trembles, afraid of her, “Will you return my abilities to heal myself?” Jeremy asks hesitantly.

“Maybe,” Mavis says, “Shall we.” She turns to Jeremy.

Jeremy reaches out to pull the mask off the girl.

The screen goes black and the girls screams.
